This is a great pharmacy, pharmacist are very helpful. The staff are efficient and helpful. If there is any flaw in the equation it's the impatient customer's who cannot wait for the people in front of them.

Rarely has medication in hand. Family has had multiple medications take multiple days to +2 weeks to fill. Constantly told medicine will be ready the next day but usually aren’t. Forced to switch to a different pharmacy for meds. Staff is usually friendly but the Pharmacist/manager’s customer service skills are lacking.

I enjoy shopping here, but I was there in the evening and I noticed that 10 or more lights are not working in the parking lot, they should fix them asap, for the safety of their customers.

Horrible customer service. I asked for help at the liquor cabinet and waited for 20 mins before asking again and nothing. Im not surprised as to why this location has a low rating. This staff needs training on a better sense of urgency.

This is the area where the food/toppings go for the sandwiches they make for you here. Complete filth. Most disgusting area I have ever seen food go. Someone is going to get sick. TIME TO GET THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT OVER HERE. This is not okay, for their overpriced sandwiches do not support them

Well, i find a lot of the staff good. Over the years I've made some nice acquaintances. Selection has been good, requests for new items accommodated; i asked for goat yogurt of all things and now it's there. And speaking of which, this store can be good for a healthy diet: There's a small selection of organic FRESH foods, and even though they're slightly more expensive - as they are everywhere by the way - you can still get many of the fruits and vegetables you put in your body that are certified organic. Plus there's grass fed ground beef, if you eat beef. And of all the packaged stuff that's been around And we all know about. But now the bad news: In the produce department don't expect to know what stuff is going to cost all the time because there's a lot of missing labels for some reason. Maybe it's because I shop late and they get knocked off during the day? I don't know, but it's a very common problem in produce and need's addressing; plenty of people shop later and would agree. Next is Safeway brand fresh bakery. I guess I can just make it simple: don't get anything, buy a major brand. Anything with sugar in it is going to be so sweet, you're literally going to have to either throw it away or get indigestion from it, and that I'm not exaggerating. If you love fresh baked cookies and pies and stuff like that you're gonna love the first bite but you're going to regret having bought it at an attractive "apparent" discount from the major brand. For example you can get a huge pumpkin pie, for a lot less than half the price of a small one by some outside bakery. But if you can't eat the pie because it taste like sugar, and the smaller one's delicious how are you ahead? Just don't be fooled by the cheap bakery prices the stuff is awful, trust me spend a few bucks more and get something good. (and if you need a cake for adults go to a bakery, Safeway just doesn't get it. And hasn't for the 12 years I've been shopping there so they're not gonna get any better, go to a bakery or get something from a bakery or the isles that says something like "Pepperidge Farms" on it, You know what I mean. If you get a good brand and it cost more you'll probably eat less of the bad stuff too, right? (I.E.: Grommet cookies n pie, You'll stop where you're supposed to ;) )

Pharmacy is soooo slow. Went at 10am to drop off a new prescription that I needed the same day for my medical procedure. First off, I was second in line, and it took 20 minutes just for a drop off. Then the pharmacist says, "it'll be ready tomorrow, we are short staffed, and I'm busy giving vaccines today." Um, when did vaccines take priority over people's much needed daily meds?? This is absolutely ridiculous. Should I just skip my blood pressure meds because you need to give vaccines?? I will be switching pharmacies to one that actually cares.

A lot of the staff is great here just as long as you're not a little black kid fundraising for your basketball team I was pretty disgusted when I saw them call the cops on some little kids for fundraising but for some reason it's okay when it's Girl Scout cookies to the manager that is working today do better...

Today I went to the worst Safeway I have ever shopped at on Constitution Drive in Salinas. After driving 3 hours from Sacramento and stopping for sandwiches and stuff for dinner, the first poor customer service encounter was not finding ANY shopping carts. My mom is 89, but thinking if my mother was alone trying to buy groceries on her own would of been difficult with no carts. When she asked an employee, he or she told my mother that the carts were limited. Guess they don't want you to buy carts full of items but instead buy only what you can carry. D**** Second, was the deli for sandwiches. We were asked what we wanted and I told her what the first sandwich was. She asked me to wait, left the counter for about a minute, then came back and said they only allowed 1 person at the sandwich counter and another employee would take my order. They were confused, I was confused and asked who do I give my order to? A young man took my order for the sandwiches. I will say he did a good job at constructing them and he apologized more than once for the confusion and the delay. He was good and friendly. However, the employee that told me only one person could work at the counter, worked the sandwich counter when a Safeway employee asked for a sandwich. My thought was, it's ok for 2 people to work the counter for an employee but not a customer is not good customer service. I know the employee's lunch time is limited but that's ridiculous but I heard the requesting employee say she was on 10 minutes overtime. The last straw was the checker named Julio. He was not at the cashier when we placed items on the counter. The bagger was at his station. Then the cashier approached the cash register, never greeted us, started ringing up the 2 sandwiches, the salmon from the seafood dept. and large salad. I wouldn't say he threw the items down to the bagger, but it was not the way you'd want your food to be handled. My mother insisted on paying and she had cash but Julio never told us the total. Actually up to that point he didn't say a damn thing. So I said how much and he mumbled it back. While my mother handed me 2 twenty dollar bills, the cashier turns his head and started reading something posted over his cashier. I tried to hand it to him and wanted to see how long it took him to turn around, face the customer, and do his job. I finally said excuse me, he turned around and took the money. In addition, from what I saw in the seafood area, it was not good. Most didn't look fresh. I shop regularly at the Safeway in Carmichael, Ca. I grew up in Salinas and shopped at Safeway when it was at Northridge and shopped at Safeways all over California and Washington. I have NEVER experienced this kind of very poor customer service. I advised my mother to never shop there again, even for gas. Actually the only reason we went there is we had business at a bank in the same shopping center. I'm sharing my experience with my family and friends to ensure they aren't treated this way. And, I'll be writing a letter to the administrative offices to complain with a copy of the receipt. I'm sure they would be interested in learning that lack of carts and poor customer service is cutting into their profit margin. Do yourself a favor, shop for groceries elsewhere or go to the Safeway on North Main. I have stopped at the North Main store frequently when in town and have never been treated the way we were treated today at the store in Constitution Drive. From start to finish it was not a good shopping experience.

This place sucks!!! The lines are long, some of those clerks you know don't wanna be there and it totally shows. Probably cuz management doesn't have enough clerks when needed.

Lady that always STANDS at the self-checkout was throwing word vomit saying how she doesn't work at an airport & doesn't need to be swinging her arms around to catch my attention. I simply ignored her, she was not worth the energy. I had barely lined up after being polite by asking other customers if they were in line. This Safeway continues to disappoint time after time and it is getting old. If you don't like your job here's a tip, quit :)

This is about hospitality. I went there during a medical emergency while I was suffering from an illness. I was practically bent over the registration and the women who was the cashier not caring that I was in pain talked so sickly about me to the person she was cashing out that I was astonished. We have a 6ft rule I get that. I was at the end of the belt and I was literally bent over. Instead of caring and being kind, she talked about me like a high schooler teasing a n**** Like come on it's 2021. We are all people here.
