“Moved in and about three months after, decided we needed more space. Spoke with Nick and Rima who recommended that we do a simple unit transfer. They explained the process perfectly, had all the documents ready to be reviewed and signed, and answered all my questions. Took maybe 5 minutes from start to finish. We're now moved into a larger unit, have plenty of space for all of our personal belongings and business essentials. Nick and Rima manage and run a great facility. It's clean, safe and well lit, and knowing there's security on the premises patrolling every night, really does give the added peace of mind.”
“I always dread needing to rent moving trucks because of all the possible hidden fees. Penske's site wasn't joking when it says they have no hidden fees. I compared Penske, U-Haul and Budget and Penske had the best rate for a simple 17 mile move. They also provide a AAA discount which made it even more valuable to us.However, I only decided to post this review because of how incredibly simple the process was from beginning to end! Easily reserved online. Easily cancelled my reservation so that I can order a larger truck (the 10ft truck did not include a ramp, which we needed). And when it came time to pick up, the guy I worked with was so incredibly nice and helpful. Drop-off was simple as well. The guy was also pretty friendly so they have really great customer service here. No hidden fees, very reasonably priced, and simple process. I'll continue to come to this location whenever possible. Only downside is that they don't have after-hour drop-off which is what I was hoping for since I work the next day but the area isn't the best so I understand why. Rent from here, you won't regret it!”

“These guys are the best. We've ordered many loads of soil and gravel over the years, most recently in October 2023. They very carefully get the truck onto our narrow driveway and put the dirt exactly where we want it. The last delivery the driver went in the bed with a broom to knock loose soil stuck in the truck to make sure we got all the dirt we ordered. The soil is great, and grows great plants from seeds - not just ordinary seeds from the grocery but heirloom seeds from Kachwee Seeds and Baker Creek. Grows plants from all the nurseries in the area. We'll be getting some gravel in November and more soil in 2024. 100% recommended!”

“I've used quite a few rental places. The front desk is efficient, they have good quality equipment, and the prices are very good especially if you're going week to week. I needed a commercial-duty dehumidifier for a home remodel. After weeks of rain, the fans were just blowing around the same cold, wet air and we couldn't finish sanding the walls. I called around, and Neff had the best weekly rate on a newer machine so I bit. Although I had to drive to Roseville (from Sac) to get the machine, they told me I could return it at any local Neff Rental (There are two within 7 miles). The machine worked like a beast, draining 7 gallons of water out of the house in 7 days. Thanks Neff Rentals! coming back for my next equipment rental need.”

“Recently just moved out of this facility, and although I got the run around from the Western Sac area to rent hardware to move out, the people at 1644 is so sweet, honest and caring. They went above and beyond to get me moved in and to help me move out. I can't think of the facility manager who helped me so great, but she has beautiful lashes and of Latina descent. I even enjoyed the gentleman who helped with my purchases and my selection of the right storage space. I believe this is a 5x15. Do yourself a favor and rent here! They have great discounts if you had a one-way move to town and they're there to help if you have problems. Entrance is by keycard only.”

“I was surprised to find out that Home Depot not only rents tools, but moving trucks! Specifically "Penske Truck Rentals". Our friend sold his old Victorian home in down town Sacramento and needed to move some of his antique furniture to his new house in Santa Cruz. Apparently, every truck rental business around had all their trucks rented out on the day he needed the move to take place. He finally located a Penske truck at the Home Depot on Howe Ave. The only truck available was quite a bit larger than he needed, but didn't have much of a choice. Since Joe K is a good friend of his, we ended up taking on the transportation challenge of driving to Santa Cruz and then back to Sacramento the following day. Renting the truck itself is pretty reasonable for a two day rental charge, but it REALLY adds up when there is a fee per mile! And like I said before, our friend was desperate and forked out the money in order to finalize his move. Our trip was scary, because the truck is big and the journey long. But I must say, the cab was actually comfortable enough. Cushiony seats, standard radio, heating and air. It makes a loud beeping sound during back up and the drive was smooth! After the moving process was completed, we got to stay overnight in Santa Cruz at a nice Inn, then had a leisurely return trip back to Sacramento. They do require that the gas tank be full upon return. We were very close to not being back to Home Depot on time, due to an accident on the freeway. Otherwise, there are additional late charges. I guess we got everything done for our friend all in the nick of time! And we got a short overnight trip to Santa Cruz with all expenses paid!”
