I made an appointment to see a tax person. When I arrived I was asked to wait while the tax preparer finished with another customer, or I could drop my tax paperwork off. So i came back after a bit and just dropped them off. The bill for my taxes, which were very simple, came to approx 640 bucks (after applying a 20 dollar coupon) for two years of taxes with one 1099int per year. Apparently if there is a 1099int, it raises the cost of your tax preparation. I understand te concept because there can be many 1099s. Also nobody told me how much the tax preparation was, or even what the plans were, or anything about cost. That would have been nice but I was busy and was scheduled to be out of town for the next few weeks. they encouraged me to leave the paperwork, so I did, thinking it could not be that much. I simply got a call that said your taxes are ready. And here is a 640 bill. Don't think it's worth it if your doing simple taxes like mine. Just use an online service, it will most likely net the same results and cost much less, much less. The preparer was nice but I wish one of the people there could have let me know what choices I had or even how much the services cost. Honestly, I don't know why I paid, but I won't be going back. I've done my own taxes for years and thought they could get me a larger refund, which was wrong. Very nice people though very knowledgeable but as a business... I dont know

This was my first time getting our taxes done as opposed to doing it myself on TurboTax and I was super disappointed. It ended up costing over $400 and I spent over 2 hours in their office watching a man type in each number from my forms…something I could have easily done and much quicker than he did. The man preparing my taxes also gave me some very wrong answers (for example that I didn’t get the child tax credit because my daughter was less than 6 months) and luckily some nearby tax professionals overheard and saved me $2000 by fixing his mistake. Overall, I did not feel like the $400+ saved me any time or money and definitely did not make me feel more confident in my taxes. I also was blindsighted by the price as they advertise a much lower price but then apparently charge more if you have more forms? They didn’t tell me that until everything was done. I plan to do my own taxes on next year.

Got my taxes done at H&R Block-Rosemont, Sacramento last Saturday because it is close to my house. What they always tell you at the end of your meeting is that if you owe taxes at the end, you should elect "0" and "Single" on your W-4 form. However, first of all, the W4 form doesn't work like that anymore. You can only choose your marital status, "Yes" or "No" to the question do you work multiple jobs, dependent credit amount, and any additional withholdings you would like to elect. Plus, what they fail to tell you is that you are going to pay taxes, regardless if you do it throughout the year or in one lump sump at the end of the year. They should state if you can afford it, you should have more taxes taken out of each paycheck, so that you get a refund at the end of the year, because not everybody can afford to have the maximum amount of taxes taken out of their paycheck each pay period. They also need training on the new W-4.

I wanted to reach out and express my appreciation for the work you did on my taxes this year. The process was seamless, and I couldn't have done it without your help. I especially appreciated the use of the online process, which made it very easy for me to submit all of my necessary information and documents. It was a great convenience and I appreciate the effort you took to make it happen. Thank you again for all of your hard work and dedication to ensuring that my taxes were filed correctly and on time. I look forward to working with you again next year.
