Mayen Builders is great! I needed to legalize a wall in the garage, which Daly City insists isn't a wall but a new living area. Daly City is notorious for being difficult, and they took on this job that several other companies were too scared to. Throughout the process, communication was excellent. And the issue was fixed on time. Highly recommended!

I recently contracted Hector to do some work on my mothers house which had water damage due to an upstairs bathroom leak. He was very upfront with his quote and everything that was written in the contract agreement was completed. He kept his word and did an amazing job. I was pleased with the work and the communication! I will definately be contacting him for future jobs!

We used Mayen Builders to convert our garage into a 3rd bedroom. We were extremely satisfied with Mayen Builders. They were honest, humble, kind, and efficient. We added on some additional work mid-project. Not only did the Mayen Builders complete these add-ons in addition to the agreed upon work, they completed the project ahead of schedule. Every time I walk into the bedroom I am thankful we decided to go with Mayen Builders.

I own a property I managed out of state, and Mayen Builders answered the call. What I needed was a contractor that had the breadth of a handyman and the professionalism of a general contractor, the ability to do big and small jobs, the ability to give me confidence that the job would be done right the first time, was prompt, kept their commitments, and charged reasonable prices. Mayen is all of this and more. I have been wowed by the quality of their work. They have been able to get me out of some tough situations and have exceeded expectations on turnaround time multiple times. Nothing they've fixed have had to be fixed again. I would heartily recommend them to absolutely in need of their kinds of services.

We asked for a quotation on a fireplace removal project. Long story short there was a structural risk that Hector pointed out that other contractors did not point out. They ended up staying the project was riskier than they wanted to take on. They were upfront honest knowledgeable and very responsive. They are not searching to take projects they cannot do. I would highly recommend them.

After struggling to find contractors on other apps I was recommended Mayen Builders and within an hour was contacted by them. They came out within 2 days and after assessing the situation came back with a bid. Work started on the day they said it would and was completed on Day 2. What I really appreciate is that the Mayen team that came out for the bid was also the same team that did the actual work. We got the first test of their repairs during this recent storm and all of their work upheld without exception. While that would be enough they went above and beyond today by coming out and working on my roof essentially the same day I called them. Even told me to hold off on payment until we know for sure it worked! So easy and great to work with, I know who will be my go-to general contractors from here on out If you are in need of honest, smart, hardworking, and reliable contractors, this is the team you need to reach out to without hesitating.

We had a great experience working with Mayen Builders. Hector was very responsive, informative, and straightforward regarding timeline and expectations. Mayen helped us with several projects at our home; each project individually quoted. He gave us good advice on options, walked us thru the various pros / cons and the impact to costs. Hector and his team went above and beyond to make sure our project was completed correctly; taking care of several items that were not part of the original scope but needed to get done. We plan to use Mayen for an addition we are starting shortly and highly recommend them to others.

The Hectors did a wonderful job! They replaced a bunch of siding with brown rot with some better siding, and did a really great job painting it (as well as some rotting window framing). I can hardly tell it's a different siding. They also replaced some rotting deck stairs as well and I really like how they fit it around the drain pipe. They kept it detached from the wall as well, which I had requested. Finally, they removed a bunch of rotting earthquake reinforcement, replaced some beams behind it, and secured everything really well with some metal plating and some sister pieces on the joists (due to some complications with weird beams). I really like how they outlined all of my options here with some of the weird construction and helped me make an informed choice.

The two Hectors have been nothing short of amazing to work with. I don't even know where to begin! We've never done any major renovations to my home so the process in finding a contractor was nerve-racking. I reached out to three different contractors and out of the three, Mayen Builders provided us with the most reasonable quote. What I liked most about them also was that in their quoting, they broke down the price of every job we requested to get done (e.g., wall painting, refinish flooring, install new door, etc.) The other two contractors listed the jobs requested but didn't give us a break down in price, only a grand total. I'm really happy we went with them. Since I have so much to say about the Mayen Builders, I'll break down my review by skills and attributes that make them stand out from the rest. Communication- From the day we agreed to work together, communication has never been a problem. I work from home but have days that I have to go into the office. Hector (son) always let me know, the night before, what time they'd be arriving in the morning. There were also days I had to leave while they were working and he ALWAYS sent me a text to let me know they were leaving and locked all the doors. Throughout the project, always asked clarifying questions and ensured they understood what I meant. When a unexpectedly job needed to be done, they would check in first and would suggest some things that they thought would be best but never pushed me to go with their recommendation. Professionalism- Having people working in your home for over a week, you become comfortable having them around and vice versa but they always remained extremely professional. They always cleaned up at the end of the day. If I was at home working in an open-spaced area and they needed to talk, they would always ask if I had a minute to talk rather than immediately asking questions. Such polite guys! They take their work extremely seriously while valuing their clientele and it shows. They also practiced covid-19 safety precautions and always wore their mask while working. Craftsmanship- My house looks amazing (see pictures). We gave the entry, living room, and hallway a whole new makeover. We requested for the following jobs to be done: popcorn ceiling removal & smoother texture for ceiling, refinishing the original hardwood floors (Hector & Hector had two other guys do the floors and they did great!) , new wall color and new baseboards, replace existing sliding door to the backyard, color change of fireplace & install mantle, and turn existing French doors into one door. I barely even recognize my home anymore. It's such a bittersweet feeling because this is the house me and my brother grew up in. As much nostalgia and comfort this home brings me, it really needed a new look. Hector and his dad went above and beyond to make it look great. Not only does it look good, they executed the job while being very detail-oriented and got the job done in a timely manner. I could go on and on about these two but of all the things listed above, the best part about working with Hector and Hector was that they are overall really good and honest people. It was great getting to know the both of them during this project. We are forever grateful that we found them. Overall, the experience was 100/10. We'd hire them again without any hesitation.

I can't say enough about the Hectors. They are professional, timely, flexible, and very reliable in their work. I would recommend them 100%. We had them build a half bath for us and the process was great. We plan on using their services again too on our next project.

Mayen Builders remodeled the entire interior of a home that had been a rental for 25 years. We remodeled it for our daughter and her family, and Hector and his son did an extremely excellent job. Not only did they knock out walls per engineering instructions, Hector improved on it. He created gorgeous floating shelves in the multi-purpose room that extended the entire width of the room. Not only were they beautiful, but so well constructed, you could dance on them. Hector takes pride in his work, and he is extremely detailed oriented so that there are no imperfections or bad construction. His painters, plumbers and electricians are also excellent, and they accommodated me when I had additions and changes with patience and a smile. Overall, I would not hesitate to use Hector again, and gladly recommend Mayen Builders, Inc. to anyone who has remodeling needs.

Hector is an exceptional craftsman. We had a lot of project managers give us estimates for our whole house remodeling project on our rental house. What impressed me most about Hector, was that he did not just throw numbers at us like everyone else. He was the only one who took out his tape measure and actually took measurements and was able to give us an estimate in a day. He is a hard worker, he communicates consistently, he is honest and a kind good hearted man.Our whole house project was completed in about 2 months and we are very happy with the work. We are definitely keeping Hector on for all our other projects. I have posted some before and after pictures to show his work.You will not go wrong by hiring Hector for your projects. He is very very good at what he does!!

Mayen Builders did an excellent job of repairing and replacing gutters for our home. The servicemen were prompt, and the price reasonable. Would recommend them highly.
