We make it a point to visit Ben as often as possible. A wealth of information, his experiences, and his world travels have added to the experience of visiting the "butcher." Being a chef is several countries, and mastering his trade from various regions translates is reminiscent of a shopping experience in Italy or Spain. Ok, the cuts are also healthy, top-notch, and ready for the grill. Just go and enjoy already..

Ordered the Boar the night before and got there and was a quick pick-up (40 minute drive to get there). I actually asked if he could cut me another pound and was able to cut it up and get me out in 5 minutes.Service was quick and a pleasant experience.Definitely coming back and will always keep this spot in mind if I need exotic meats or cuts.

Gambrel & Co. is everything you could want from a quality butcher. High quality meats, a wide variety of products, knowledgeable preparation of cuts and other ingredients, and helpful advice on what to get and even how to make it. They even sell salts, rubs, sauces and imported French butter! These guys know what’s what. Some earlier reviewers mention a bad attitude, but I’ve only ever had pleasant and helpful customer service here - Ben rocks!

If you're interested in specific cuts and/or specific grades, they have what you're looking for. They're not cheap and you could find similar items online but you get to see what you're buying, and that little difference in marbling or size or shape makes a difference.

Last weekend I picked up a tri-tip with a santa maria rub. No joke it was the best tri-tip I have ever grilled. Don't even bother with Whole Foods, Draeger's and the overpriced, high end grocery stores. They are not even in the same ball park when it comes to flavor and cost.

I really enjoy having a butcher shop of this quality in Redwood City. All the meats I have gotten from their are high quality, and relatively reasonably priced when you consider they are not a large store and carry local, grass fed, dry aged etc etc types of meats. I also appreciate that they will provide you guidance on how much of something you will need and which cuts do better with different cooking styles

Great butcher if you are looking for 100% grass fed, grass finished beef. The ground beef is some of the best tasting ground beef I have had. Good customer service, everyone has been super nice. I highly recommend

This butcher shop has a great selection of meats, but my favorite is the grass-fed beef, which is precisely cut and prepared to bring out the best flavor and texture from your meat. Although the costs are a little higher, the quality of the meat is well worth the expenditure. Apart from beef, Gambrel and Co. sells homemade sausages that are ideal for grilling or cooking up in a hearty stew. These sausages are flavorful and crafted with high-quality ingredients, making them both delicious and filling. I would recommend Gambrel & Co to anyone and everyone.
