Because of the dimensions of my room I couldn't find a sectional that would work. My decorator brought me here. Chester, who runs the store, couldn't have been nicer and was very helpful.There was a slight problem with a seam on one of the pieces and they took it to replace, no problem. For some reason, I can't see the other reviews but would like to know why they are only rated with less than 5 stars.

They made a huge sectional ($$$$) for me (2021) as well as a queen hide-a-bed. Hide a bed is great. The sectional fabric was supposed to be very long wearing. It has been anything but long wearing. Within the first year it was looking worn. It now looks used and abused. We have no pets or children. We're snowbirds so it's used 5 months of the year. The filling is terrible. I've bought and added foam but.... it's a disaster. The down was not properly wrapped so you get stabbed most times you sit down. The manager said, how do they know we haven't had pets/children and abused it. WOW! Such an expensive mistake.

I cannot say enough about MJ Furniture - from Mario the owner who is very hands on to the delivery guys who are extremely careful. The selection of fabrics and styles is extensive, the quality (made at their factory in LA) excellent and value exceptional. Finally, they are very serious about standing behind their warranty. We’ve purchased a sofa and large sectional and cannot recommend the company more highly.

The best custom upholstery maker! This is a small shop with production facilities in LA. Delivery to Cochella Valley every 2 weeks. The quality and attention to derail is superb. The service is second to none. I modified one of their sofas into a custom curved design, upholstered in a difficult to match COM fabric. The results are stunning! The client is thrilled. Delivery crew was great. I have been in the custom residential interior design business for 50 years and this is one of the best resources I have worked with. Thanks Mario and Chester! We just bought a new home and needed furniture fast, MJ Custom delivered in just 3 weeks, which no one else in the coachella valley can do. We are so happy with the construction and fabric choices we made with experct service from our sales person. Thank you MJ you are the best

I bought a sofa a year ago and used a fabric they recommended as being durable for a dog. One year in and the sofa looks terrible! My West Elm wore better. I called MJ and they say they stand behind the frame.

Extremely poor customer service..You have to wait forever just to get communication back and everything informationally is always very vague....Got really tired of we'll get back to you with no results or answer. Best to move on to someone else....

BEWARE Do not buy a couch from this establishment if you want to sit on it. From the day it arrived in my house it was the most uncomfortable couch that was ever made. I complained many times, it was never properly fixed. Now, they want to charge me more money to fix it so you can sit on it without breaking your back. Don't believe the word "custom". I ordered a couch to be made longer but it was not made longer and I still paid the higher price. My couch is less than a year old and from the day it was delivered you could not sit on it. Now it has bumps and lumps everywhere. $4,000 down the drain and they won't fix it. They do not stand behind their product.

Don't let the word 'custom' scare you. I thought the pricing was very comparable to other similar non-custom products and the quality was superior. Owners were on site and very helpful.

We've always wanted a custom built sofa and where referred by a friend to go to MJ Custom Furniture. We where not allowed to bring in our own fabric, but where forced to buy their cheap textile which "pilled" immediately. A $5,000+ sofa shouldn't be scratchy and uncomfortable. When we do use it, we need to use a bed sheet because of the rough surface. Because we hardly use the couch, we didn't bring it up until it was "Too late" according to MJ. Our advice- shop elsewhere. Mario the owner and his son have no customer service skills. Mario said he would go broke if he stood behind his products past one year. He treats his clients rudely when faced with poor product quality. My 3 year old sofa has frame nails piping out and ripping the fabric, from day one when sitting on the sofa in shorts the buttons woul catch on clothing and com off when you stood up. The plastic on the piping pops out and the cushions do not hold their shape. I have other reductions from other sources that lasted 20 yeats that cost less than this junk.

I was in the market for a new sofa for my living room and I happen to find some of the best rates at this store. Although it was a bit of a drive for me, they were very helpful to finding the right sofa. They were able to deliver the sofa all the way to where I live! Highly recommend this place.

I've purchased a number of items from MJ custom furniture over the years working directly with the owner and had a great experience every time. I stopped in on a recent Friday as I'm in the market for two custom club chairs. It appeared there was only one employee on duty, Stan. I asked about the owner I had worked with and was told he was only there on the weekends. Because I was already there I looked around, but didn't see any chairs in the style I was looking for. When I inquired about making a custom piece like I had done before, I was told they were way too busy. Stan didn't offer any other suggestions and didn't seem interested in working with me. I returned the next day during the time period Stan said the owner would be present. Unfortunately he was out running an errand at the time. Stan said the owner was expected back later that afternoon, but never offered to take my name or number or offer to have anyone call me upon his return. I asked if the owner would be there the following day (Sunday) and was told by Stan he wasn't the owner's "time keeper." No apology for having come in twice, not even a good bye or have a nice day. I hope the owner reads this review as I remember him as a wonderful person. I know he wouldn't appreciate how a long time customer was treated.
