Been living here for about 9 months now and I love it. I have great neighbors and the office staff is pleasant and the amenities are great. Maintenence is quick and efficient. The only complaint I have is the smell of weed, but I don't reflect that on the complex, because I know they have no control over that.

Loving This Place!
I cannot speak highly enough about this property. First and foremost, the maintenance crew are the bomb! They are not only responsive and thorough, but they also are EXTREMELY helpful outside of the scope of their positions.
One time, my baby (dog) ran away from me. I lost her for more than 20 minutes. I was completely despondent. I had NO idea what to do. But, because the maintenance crew had previously seen me walking her, they patiently waited with her, on one of the near-by grassy areas, knowing that I would come to them. I mean, that was after 6:00PM, and they were off the clock!! They found time in their day to help me - JUST BECAUSE! And, any time of the day that I am walking around the property, they have a smile on their face, and they are genuinely friendly and helpful. Honestly, they alone are a reason to check this place out.
As well, the property is clean, well-maintained, and quiet. And, the property managers know me by name, and whenever I walk into the office, I feel the love.
Lastly, the property just built a dog wash for the tenants. A DOG WASH, Ya'll! Do you know of any other property that has done that? I don't!
If you are looking for a family-friendly, animal-friendly, well-kept, very responsive, and classy property to rent, look no further! This is the spot.
I am VERY happy I found this place!

I recently moved out of The Reserve at Capitol Center, and I’m extremely disappointed with how they handled the move-out process. Despite spending two full days cleaning my apartment—ensuring it was left in excellent condition—the management hit me with an outrageous $300+ cleaning fee. I had no pets, no kids, and took great care of the space during my time there, so this charge is completely unfair.
I found out that I’m not the only one who has experienced this. Many other reviews mention similar surprise fees, which suggests a pattern of unfair practices by the management. It feels like they’re taking advantage of residents on their way out, which is incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
I strongly advise against renting there. There are plenty of other places that treat their residents with more respect and transparency.

It's not worth the money. Nearby apartments are the same, but cheaper !

I was grateful to call this place home for the last 13 months and I'm sad to go! The neighborhood was mostly quiet (aside from the folks driving rudely loud cars and motorcycles but thats not the complexes fault) and I felt very safe here even at night. I've rented in the bay area and in the central valley and so far this is one of my top 3 places that I've rented at.
Neighbors were quiet and friendly, I generally kept to myself because I'm pretty shy but the complex held a lot of events to bring the community together. Maintenance was pretty on top of it and our security that did rounds was pretty subtle as well! The parking towards the front of the complex is a little challenging for a space but the street parking makes up for the lack of uncovered spots in the front. I also lived near the office but ive seen plenty of parking in the other parts of the complex! I had a cat so i didnt have to pay pet rent, which was a huge plus. You can pay rent online and setting up internet and utilities was a breeze.
I lived in a 2 bd 2 bath and had a fullsized washer and dryer that had their own closet in the kitchen which was really nice! I will say i was a tiny bit sad that one of the bedrooms didnt have their own ceiling fan and light (it also happened to be the bigger room that i used as my bedroom) but the smaller room with the bathroom attached had a fan and light as well as the living room!
The person who originally walked us through our apartment named Sam was fanastic, I dropped off my keys with John and had an overall positive application and key drop off experience.
If i ever have to rent again ill probably come back to the complex, they even gave us a giftbox with a coolerbag and two reuseable coffee cups that my boyfriend and I used ! 5 stats in my book, thank you for being my temporary home!

I give the Reserve a 5 star rating because so far my time here has been great! The apartment is in good condition. Full size washer and dryer, updated appliances, spacious and tall ceilings! The office staff and maintenance are responsive and efficient!

I've lived here for almost 10 years at this point. I can honestly say that it's been a very positive experience overall. The apartment unit itself experience may vary. I can only speak for my apartment, but my unit tends to get sun all day which makes it pretty warm at times, especially during the summer. They did install dual-pane windows a few years ago which have absolutely helped regulate the temps and my SMUD bill thanks them. They also offer patio sunshades which blocks the sun really well, and also adds some privacy. Extra quality of life considerations like these make a difference in my opinion. The staff has come and gone over the years but they have all been kind and professional at times I've interacted with them. They usually have themed social events and raffles in the office every couple months where you can grab food or treats and mingle with your neighbors if that's your kinda thing. They are also very dog friendly! There is a small dog run in the back of the property. There are also a few spots on the property where they have dog poop bag dispensers for free, which is a great touch. They really try to take care of the property and it shows. It's definitely the nicest looking place on the block. While i don't plan to live here for another decade, i wouldn't be upset if it turned out that way. It might be a little more expensive than other places on the block, but honestly who would you rather live next to?

We left a very clean and undamaged home. We did a quality cleaning. The manager did not return the deposit to us, the manager does not know his business well.

the apartments are beautiful, Sam was very kind. but the manager was very mean when validating your application, it doesn't matter if you have the money and good credit; he is going to make sure not to rent you the apartment under any excuse

My Mother and I have lived in this community since Feb. 2022. The Property Management team as well as the Maintenance team have provided great service from day 1. If you would like to live in a safe, peaceful, quiet community consider The Reserve at Capital Center. Also awesome amenities and very close to stores and restaurants.
