This is my main grocery store since I moved here. The store is clean and well stocked. The employees are always kind and willing to help if you can't find something. The deli department has great sandwich meat and the bakery has some seriously delicious looking cakes and breads. Their Italian bread is our favorite. The only cake I've tried is the tres leches and it was awesome. There are a lot of self check outs so the regular check out lines don't usually get too long.

The new store is great compared to the old one. They carry unique items not found at other chain groceries. However their produce section lacks compared to others. Where they really stand out if the price. Their prices are significantly higher than most stores. The convenience is nice but I really can't see being a regular customer with their prices.

I have worked at this location for over 6 years and recently I transferred to other store because of a co-worker who would speck too me in such demeaning ways. I was seen as a lying annoying woman with a speech impairment this man did not. Also, to mention this man had gone to the manager office many times and had told lies about others he worked for. He blackmailed everyone he comes in contact. It became so embarrassing to me for my good reputation and honest ethics. I have stopped shopping at this store because of this. I want or rather I hope the managers be more hands on and be more proactive with employee s there. I feel like this was crucial and loss of opportunity a failed attempt on the management team. This store had loss a good beloved employee.

This location recently launched robot delivery in my neighborhood using Starship. Here is my experience and feedback. Both the app and the receipt tell you that there is a delivery fee of less than $1.00. Sounds great, but they are lying. All of the items you purchase have increased prices. I checked the in-store prices and they are charging 10% more for each. So they tell you it's a buck and it's not. That is a lie, a fib, deliberate obfuscation or whatever you want to call it. Shameful. Just put the delivery fee on the receipt and tell the customer up front. They actually put a delivery fee to make you think that's all you are paying. Even worse than saying nothing. I couldn't think of a situation when robot delivery would help me, but then it happened. I did have the need...it was late at night and realized we are out of milk. I need the milk for breakfast as early as possible the next day. I don't want to go out in the cold early in the morning. The robot will just ding my phone when it's in my driveway and that will be my alarm (I thought). The problem is that the app will not let you order for the next day. So plan-B... I woke up early and tried to order first thing in the morning (6am) but it won't let you place an order until 9am. No milk for breakfast I guess. Anybody see the irony here? The people start work at 6am, but the robot, that doesn't need to sleep or eat or go to the bathroom, doesn't start till 9 o'clock. Then there were the missing items - Ruffles and a loaf of bread. I know I can do without the ruffles, but we kinda needed the bread. So as soon as the robot showed up, missing some items, I went to the store to buy the ruffles and bread anyway. The issue was that the exact item I ordered was not found. There is a person doing the shopping (I don't think that's a robot). Why couldn't they just call you and ask if they can substitute another sourdough loaf (the fat one instead of the thin one)? Nope. So don't depend on this thing if you want to make dinner at a specific time or expect the ingredients to be correct. And the last thing is that these are now all over the neighborhood polluting the sidewalks. Did anybody poll the neighborhood and ask if this was ok? Will feedback be solicited after some time period so Lucky knows whether we love it or hate it? Do they care? If I choose to go to one supermarket over another that's my choice, but now Lucky has decided that we don't have a choice. We all have to tolerate them. This makes getting groceries even more impersonal. Imagine if we liked going to a store because everybody there was helpful and nice and loved their job? I guess then we would be at Trader Joes.

I have to add an update on the Automated Robot Grocery Delivery, it is pretty amazing and AWESOME! We needed a few grocery items last week on a rainy day so we had the Robot deliver it for us! Ordering is done through the Starship App and you even get to pick a song that you'd like the Robot to play when it arrives! How cool is that!! The Robot arrived in a reasonable amount of time and we could track it via the App. Such an amazing and innovative way for contactless delivery! The neighborhood kids are LOVING the li'l Robots moving around dropping off groceries!

We recently stumbled across this Lucky Location. We are officially that couple that goes on dates at the grocery stores - lol. We hadn't been in this area in a while so when we pulled up we noticed the outdoor seating with TVs. We were puzzled for a second trying to figure out what was the adjacent restaurant. Spoiler - there isn't - it's their outdoor seating area. The inside - WOW. I am so impressed. It's clean, fully stocked rows and rows of items. The different stations for food was what I found amazing. That, along with the Beer Station. We specifically went there this past weekend for burgers. They were fresh and really good flavor. While at the meat counter, hubby was told he could ask for marinade and it was free. Who does that? Our date lasted about 45 mins and would have been longer if we could have gotten a pint but that part was not open until later in the afternoon. We will definitely come back. OH! Only thing I should mention - didn't affect me due to time we went to the store but they only have like 6 full service check out lanes. I can imagine it may get busy.

Today, I was denied my booster covid shot even though I had the appointment. The doctor at the counter denied saying they can't look through the confirmation number and asked me to search for cancellation which obviously I didn't get it. This happened where the whole world is struggling with the pandemic. I thought this should have been a doctor's top priority but seems like they wanted to run home soon. Highly uncooperative. Confirmation number :5160837

The workers here are rude and un-friendly. Sherry and Cham need better training how to deal and talk with customers. Very unprofessional. I will never shop at this location again and suggest you don't waste your time at this Lucky store.

Went to get NY steaks and they were out on the shelf. I reached out to Mike behind the counter and went above and beyond to get me some from the back fridge. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE MIKE!

This Lucky Store was recently remodeled and a Grand Opening was held a couple months ago. It was in the local paper and local TV channels. It was billed as their new Flagship line of stores - complete with various hot food stations for Pizza, Ramen, Sandwiches, Sushi and other casual foods. Their is also a really modern and nice meat market with dry aged beef with an unusual feature - you purchase a large cut of beef and instruct them to age it a given length of time. At that time, you can come and pick it up. It has to be paid for by the customer before this procedure can be started. The store is huge! The departments are very nicely stocked with very wide aisles and a very spacious feeling. While it is still a Lucky supermarket, they have decorated it in an upgraded style and stocked with more than just the normal/regular inventory. Think of it as their version of Whole Foods but with less expensive prices. For sure, it is nothing like their standard supermarkets. It's much nicer with more inventory and choice and feels like an upgraded property. Produce, meats, deli and produce sections all look fresh stocked with high grade items. I would have rated it 5 stars except that many shelf markers missing so trying to determine price of things is not always easy to do. And when the shelf marker is present, the unit of measure is not always clear. For instance, a tag above bags of oranges just says $1.58. Is that per bag, per pound or what? It's per lb. but it should be marked that way. The same loose pricing info applies to prepackaged grapes and other things that can be easily prepacked at the store level. The accompanying photos should give you an idea of what the place now looks like. Jim

OMG! I have not seen the new remodeled stores! What a surprise! We had reservations at De La Torres and my husband wanted a drink. I noticed the patio and asked if we could check that out. We walked in and boom! Beer and Wine! We technically could have gone here for dinner and been totally fine. Lots of featured local beers/wines (i.e., 21st Amendment, Altamont, Wente, etc.). We sat outside and enjoyed our beverages before making our reservation. I told my coworkers and they were saying they have to check this out (because they didn't believe me).

So glad they chose our local Lucky location to test the newest "Lucky California" concept! Still amazed at how much larger and open the store seems with high ceilings, wide aisles, and re-designed footprint. Great design and new features--like the walk-in beer cooler full of well-curated craft beer selections, including local brews! The "eatery"' with made to order salad bar, bbq section, ramen bar, and more. And a bar with wine and beer on tap to enjoy in a covered patio area with big TVs. It's not just shopping, it's an experience. You can also choose and label a cut of meat to "dry age" on-site, if you're into that sort of thing. I really hope this model flourishes and becomes the norm. While they increased the number of self check-out lanes(which is a good thing), my only only complaint is that they seem to have reduced the number of staffed cashier lanes, and the times I have been there, only two were staffed. This becomes an inconvenience if you are purchasing alcohol or loose produce.

We've lived in the Val Vista neighborhood for a long time and enjoyed the customer service at Lucky. Since the newly remodeled store reopened, the customer service has been horrible. Not enough checkers are available to help so most of the time I use self checkout . And if they open up a line, the checkers are rude not helping to bag my items and ignoring me while their friend comes up to talk. It's such a shame because we like the location and the new food area is great. I guess they figure customer service isn't important now. Back to Gene's Fine Foods for better service.

This is a great store. Unfortunately some employees need more training. At 6:42pm today at cash register #3, the lady cashier was excitedly chatting with a customer, and almost stopped working. When she put the stuff in the bag, she was taking her time, totally ignoring us who are patiently waiting.
