Needed to rehair a violin bow and was recommended to this shop. Craig , the owner really seems to care about his job and customers based on my interaction with him. He has a large collection of instruments in the shop, a testament to how much he values music. He is very honest and trustworthy even offering suggestions on how to prevent your instrument bows from being destroyed. Ignore the shop full of instruments , Craig's work speaks for him as he seems to try and save every one .I would use him each and every time .

I have been coming to Craig at Callier-Scollard violins for years to get quality and affordable bow rehairs. But recently, I was fortunate to experience his top notch repair work on a very special instrument to me. I was given an old cello by the family of a very close friend, who passed away last year. he himself was a Luthier, and this cello held a very significant emotional value for me. I took it to a few other Luthier's in town to which I was referred but they declined to take the job. On a whim I called up Craig and he didn't hesitate to take on the project, which required re-gluing the center seam on the back as well as many other difficult challenges as the instrument had sat taken apart for a long period of time. The instrument sounds and looks great, and his prices were very reasonable. Thank you, Craig, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for a creative and detail oriented Luthier!

Craig is a rare human. Kind, patient, very , very reasonable, both in his approach to doing the finest repair for your instrument, and in his prices. He understands the emotional attachment some of us have to our instruments. After the repair he did, my fiddle sounds Better than Ever. Which, of course, makes me sound better. (No small feat). My fiddle had been very poorly repaired - the repair made it unplayable - but now I am in Fine Fiddle (pardon the pun but it's true). Very Grateful to Craig.

Craig is my cello's savior! I was teaching at a student's home when their cat named Bach(I kid you not), tipped over my case. It landed on my scroll, breaking it at a previous repair site. I took it to all the big name places in Los Angeles and everyone said I needed to have a neck graft costing somewhere in the 10K range. I had insurance on it and they were willing to reimburse me that amount, but I really didn't want it to have such a major repair. It's a delicate cello from the 1750's and I was also wary of a possible change in tone. I brought it to Craig and he said it could be fixed by putting some sort of brace on the inside that he designed. He got it done for around 90% less than the cost of a graft and my cello sounds even better than it did before!
