BBVA Compass was a great bank, but the PNC takeover completely soured me on commercial banks forever. PNC is nothing but a ruthless, money grubbing financial institution, which is known to charge phantom fees and claim they know nothing. They will hang up on you, if the reason of your call is not within their automated, preset parameters. They will milk every last moment, holding your funds, so they can get the maximum return rate on investments. Forget about paying above and beyond your Mortgage payment as they will never allocate the overage towards your principal. Any errors made by them is suddenly YOUR PROBLEM. They are rude, condescending and downright disrespectful to anyone wanting honest answers. I think I said enough about this crappy bank. My FICO score is good, yet they still charged me a 31.99% Credit Card APR for new purchases, even though they refused to replace my old BBVA Visa, citing I need to pay off my old balance before re-applying for PNC Visa card. I simply emptied my Savings balance and paid off the old card balance and moved to a Credit Union. This bank can kiss my ***

I received confirmation that my ID+ card that is a PNC sponsored bank of my university was left behind at this branch and it was recovered. Upon arranging to pick it up, it was shredded and they won't offer me a replacement.

This bank offers zero personal customer service. There are no ATMs anywhere. And you can’t withdraw any money if your license is expired by three hours. Save yourself the hassle and go to Chase across the street

Wow this is the bank every bank should hope to be as difficult as what I was experiencing was the staff here made it completely pain free and went the extra mile to consider me personally. Thank you and I will bank here as long as this branch is open ??

If I could give negative stars I would!! The BS that Julie at the Palm Desert location put my mother-in-law through after my father-in-law passed from Covid19 in July is absolutely ridiculous. My mom and dad had separate bank accounts at different banks so she was not his account which is how she wanted it. He only had maybe $3000 in the bank which is nothing really. My mom continued to pay HIS bills which are the same bills paid EVERY month. Anyway she goes in with death certificates and marriage license so she can take care of his account and pay off his loan he had with the bank ($1200) instead Julie acts like if my mom is being fraudulent!! Tells her his SSI for JUNE is not owed to her and sends it back to SS after SS told her that it was HERS to keep, Julie wouldn't even listen to her! Wouldn't let her see the bank statement which my mom wanted to see because a DMV check wrote before he passed hadn't cleared yet and she was concerned. So you know what happen? The bank lost out! That's right BBVA please know that you guys lost money because of her refusal to listen and incompetence. There was in fact an $800 charge that was fraudulent that she couldn't fight because Julie froze the account AND sent back the SS money. IF she would have done her job BBVA would have got their loan $ and would have had to eat $300 more they lost because that $800 charge. In all reality it worked on my moms favor because SS sent her the $2000 Julie sent back because it was HER $ TO KEEP. BBVA also lost a potential Customer with my mom. It makes me wonder how many people have been given the wrong info from this lady as she sent back SS $ they were entitled to. This is ONLY the Palm Desert branch I'm referring to. I am also a bbva customer but only deal with the Indio branch and have been more then happy with them.

Avoid BBVA like the plague! I used to think this was a great bank....then they went Big Corporation. From then it was been downhill. No customer service at all! No response to problems! Charge you for everything they can think of! I have 4 accounts with them, but they could care less about a small business. I am closing ALL my accounts and moving on!

Lines are very long they could use more clerks it took me 3 weeks to get my funds out of my account and there customer service is horrible it took me to hours to get a hold of someone twice this bank sucks i don't recommend at all all the workers always give me a attitude and a hard time

This is the worst thing I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I had fraud take place in my checking account. It takes them 10 business days to refund a temporary credit. In this day and age 10 business days. Not only that but they charge you seven dollars to replace your debit card. So don't ever have any fraud take place. Because they do nothing to help their customers but gouge them and additional fees such as the seven dollars for your ATM replacement card. And making you wait 10 calendar days Before a provisional credit is even issued. The worst bank ever
