“Terrific experience! Highly recommend this bookstore, to call it a bookstore is an underrating for sure. If you go in, and truly receive what is there to be offered to you, you will be amazed. enjoyed the singing bowls while I was there. Leslie played them for me, and I played them as well. I walked away with a wonderful book on fermenting, a beautiful little ring as a keepsake for my visit to Monterey and an experience that I cannot begin to put into words. A truly emotionally healing moment as I met two random shoppers while in there with Leslie. I will definitely be going back every time I am in Monterey?!”

Dolores St. between 5th & 6th, Carmel-By-The-Sea“This bookstore brought me so much joy! I enjoyed getting lost in their book selections. The secret garden was a sweet surprise. It felt peaceful. It is perfect to sit and read the book you just bought there!”
“Friends' Community Bookstore had me completely enchanted! It's a beautiful place where the love of literature comes alive and a paradise for bookworms. I had a great time navigating the aisles and finding hidden gems that I might not have seen otherwise. I was impressed with the bookstore's wide collection, and the presence of first editions and uncommon discoveries raised the ante even further. This bookstore is a gold mine just waiting to be discovered, regardless of your reading preference.”
“Everyone found a book to bring home and even a copy of Cannery Row! Reminiscent of that used bookstore smell and quirky collection of who knows what you’ll find. ?”
“This is a small bookstore, but they have such an interesting selection of used books covering every topic under the sun — could easily have spent a day here perusing the aisles. There are a few chairs set out for reading, the staff were friendly, prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is so cozy. Found a few gems and will be coming back for more!”
“Monterey Peninsula College Library is a gem within the campus, offering a beautiful and enriching environment for students. If you're looking for a place to study, conduct research, or simply immerse yourself in a world of knowledge, this library is a must-visit. I left with a positive impression and a newfound appreciation for the resources and support available to students at Monterey Peninsula College.”
“If you want a memory of Monterey, this is the place to get it. They have metalwork, glass, clothes, stuffed animals, woodwork, and more. All high quality, supporting the aquarium, and some items even support other causes. Look for the tags and the markers as they will give you a lot of information on where your money is going.”
“It’s such a beautiful bookstore and I always love the locals collection where they feature books by artists here. There’s also lovely postcards done from artists around here. They have a pretty good selection and I like that they change up and organize the themes (the other day I saw some cute books about clouds!) so perfect for buying books as gifts or just browsing - there’s even comfortable chairs to sit in. Of course it’s perfect being right next to Carmel valley roasting coffee and sweet rebas!!”
“It's like most college bookstores. If you need a required book right away, they generally have it but you can almost always find your materials for less online at the cost of waiting a few days for delivery.”
“My wife and I walked in here during our tour of Carmel and aren’t we glad we did! All of the staff were lovely and their collection of photography is impressive. We walked away with two photographs, one from Michael Milner and one from Brett Wetson. A big thank you to Julia for all of her help!!”
“Loved the vibe! Friendly cafe staff with good indoor/outdoor seating. The bookstore in the back is cute and has a great selection. They have some PG specific books/magnets/stickers as well.”
