I’ve picked up meat here a few times when it was a convenient stop. There are options you can’t find at, say, Whole Foods, but the retail experience is disappointing. Think of the prices as Prada, but the shopping experience is Walmart or worse. Twice I got the wrong cut of meat (one beef, one pork); I overheard the butchers to the side making racist jokes on one occasion; I’ve witnessed the man behind the counter who was referred to as the manager by one of the other staff being creepy and swarmy with customers. It was all uncomfortable to overhear. I will not be going back.

It's a very expensive butcher and the quality isn't that great.

Excellent meat and poultry products from sustainable farms where animals are pasture-raised and treated humanely. In an ideal world. I’d be a vegan; in the real world, I am not and am grateful to Marin Farms for providing best-care animal practices.

Disgusting sanitary practices. Among others, witnessed the butcher sneeze in his hand and then kept prepping the meat.

Dishonest business and bad service. We bought bone-in steak supposed to be $21.99/lbs but were instead charged $25.99/lbs boneless price. We didn't want to go back to get payment corrected because the staff was giving weird look and vibe and we didn't want to interact with him anymore.

I asked a question here: Is all the beef grass-finished? I see a review says so but would like to hear it from the company. I noticed that nothing on their website indicates that it isn't corn/grain-finished. How do you define grass-fed? 100% grass foraged? Hay? Silage? I can see it at yelp.com/questions/marin… ....The USDA abandoned the "grass-fed" logo/certification entirely in 2016.No answer, so I'm disappointed. I'm having an affordable steak, instead of gambling on an expensive one that could well be no better. Will re-rate if/when my question is answered.

Every time I come here, there is a worker who is rude to customers in a demeaning way. Not to mention, they regularly mess up my orders...somehow? Today they pulled two NY Strips for me, and somehow I got home with a Ribeye. Come here for Safeway-quality meat at a premium, and with rude service.

We traveled from Mill Valley to get pork shanks that we couldn't find locally to make Osso Bucco for New Years. Kris took our order over the phone. When we arrived, he told us they were cutting them to have them in the best presentation. They used two separate legs so they would be the size we requested. All the staff were friendly and courteous. Kris in particular was really helpful and remembered me from my specific order. It was well worth the drive, and I will definitely order from them again.

The best butcher shop I've ever been to. Grass-fed/pasture-raised everything (beef, pork, lamb, chicken, eggs, organs, tallow, lard, etc) at the best prices you’ll find anywhere. Perfect for a health-focused person like me. I’ve never shopping anywhere else for meat as long as I’m living here.

15 minutes wait to get 4 sausages. One guy cutting up a whole chick for someone. They need to staff up.

I was a vegetarian for thirty years. When I recently decided to start eating meat again, I wanted to find a place like Marin Sun Farms - where I could feel reasonably sure that the animals had lived a life worth living. The staff is friendly, and all the chicken and pork I've purchased has been tender and juicy. It has become my go-to place for meats.

Just bought 3 ny strips, cooked them on the grill, to 140 as I always do. All three were barely edible, super tough! Is something different with your beef?

Great pork but beef is really tough, rarely marbled and lamb a bit more like mutton. Really strong flavor. Pick your cuts carefully. Again, pork is magnificent.
