“Is a liquor store!! Is not safe don’t go if you don’t live in the area but the cashiers are super nice and the homeless that hang around are very talkative specially this lady that seems to know me and my dog, if you don’t live around here avoid the area is not safe keep going a few blocks down is downtown you’ll find something over there”
“The best automotive service I've been to ever. I have a BMW and alway took it to BMW and they always over charge me. I will only support my local mechanics from now on. Customer service was great, explaining details and not overcharging you and gave me a neighborhood discount amazing customer service.”

566 Hegenberger Rd, Oakland“This is a shout out to David (one of the cashiers) he is helpful and polite every time I come to the Arco AM/PM. This is a very busy gas station & I'm sure the staff are over worked and under paid thank (David) for helping today when I was in a rush.”
“A neighborhood convenience store that doesn't sell liquor is hard to come by in West Oakland--but then I found Cypress Grocery. It's clean. It's orderly. Their supply changes so it's not always the same stuff, but they have convenience store basics and anything you might need to last you the night/or take you through a picnic. Best of all, they don't make up all their stuff for convenience. They do also sell some smokes. Service is good. Feels wholesome and safe which is more than what most places here are like.”

2819 Telegraph Ave, Oakland“Great customer service, very warm and kind. The gentleman in the shop helped guide me through the purchase of a few ingredients needed to make tibs. I also discovered a new bread, which initially seemed like quite a large amount, however as the gentleman informed me, the bread can be frozen and when it thaws, it's just like a freshly baked "loaf". It's actually like a very thick and huge pancake. I couldn't wait to try it. As soon as I got home, well, that's precisely what I did. Stop by and try some new ingredients, to use in one of your meals, or at least try that bread..”
8AM - 10PM
3841 West St, Oakland“Drinks: AFood: B+Service: BThe burger grill is the best thing about this place, if you scared go to church cause this isn’t the place for you. 2314 High St, Oakland“Wanted a couple beef shanks and trying to avoid Cardenas cuz that place can be a zoo esp on weekends. Found this place on yelp and called ahead. Got two meaty frozen shanks. Cooked a soup. Will return and try other items.”
“This place is always crowded, mainly because a lot of people can't follow -- or refuse to follow -- simple instructions. There are large painted arrows on the ground to help traffic flow but apparently rules and common courtesy don't apply to certain people. Aside from that, it's a nice go-to gas station. Cheap, clean, convenient, safe. They have a functioning air pump and the gas hoses are long enough to reach around your car if your tank is on the opposite side.”
“I had heard several recommendations about the burgers in this little market and they were right. The burger and fries I had today were excellent! All the food was fresh, fries were perfect and the service was friendly! I'll definitely make this my new burger spot. On a side note the mini market section has everything you might need on a moments notice, from snacks & ice cream to NyQuil and aspirin, although I didn't see dairy or bread items which is probably a smart thing since their 'expiration' dates are short,”
7AM - 2AM
363 Grand Ave, Oakland“I came by to trade in my winning Lotto Scratcher ticket for more tickets. There was a constant flow of customers coming and going at this popular store. The cashier was quiet but efficient in taking care of my transaction.”

3210 Harrison St, Oakland“Update as of 12/24 they have their liquor license back. This store is a great corner store with average corner store prices. They normally have change if you need quarters for laundry. They have a policy that customers have to wear masks due to Covid and have a plexiglass shield separating customers and staff at checkout.”

1630 Webster St, Oakland“Best market in Oakland hands down! The staff is absolutely phenomenal. Not only are they warm and welcoming but they are also SO knowledgeable about everything in their store. If you need any sort of wine, craft canned cocktail, beer, or really any sort of beverage THIS is the place.”
“I love this little market. It has everything you would expect at a convenience store plus a lot more, including produce. I typically stop here for snacks, wine, or just for something I forgot to grab at the supermarket. One of the things I like best about this place is the extensive wine and beer selection as well as the fact that every single wine bottle has a price sticker on the top of it so I'm never wondering.”
8AM - 10:25PM
1000 18th St, Oakland“Good guys. Always friendly and willing to turn my $5 bills in lots of quarters for laundry. I've seen them deal with dozens of drunks, crazies and meth heads and they always keep their cool.”

“This is THE spot to go if you need cigarettes, an adult or any other beverage, & any other random thing you may need or didn't know you wanted. This place is run by good, hard-working guys & it functions how a good business should. They recognize me as "Kamels with a 'K' guy." I just so happen so smoke Kamel Red Lights, & my name starts with a 'K. I'm kool with that. I once asked if they had candles by chance; for a vigil I was holding. I didn't see any on the floor, but it never hurts to ask. Some emergency candles were brought out”

5131 Shattuck Ave., Oakland“A lot of potential, friendly staff and a well stocked shop but I know many people who live nearby but who don't come here because of the pan handlers who always come up to you when filling. I'm always extra vigilant. It must be a hard situation for the owners as it's been like this for the 5 years we've lived here.”
8AM - 10PM
2627 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Oakland“Discount Market is the perfect example of what a neighborhood business should be. The operators are very respectful, considerate, and professional. I would recommend to anyone who finds themselves in this area, "Shop here". It's a great place.”
“One the only liquor stores within walking distance of the neighborhood. They have a good selection of snack beverages. They also have an ATM ?. It is a bit of a hassle to pull up to the store for parking. It's basically a couple of spaces in front of the stare in the direction of one-way traffic.”
“i find this place distinct from other local grocers for their fresh and dry noodles, tofu/bean curd/bean sprouts/fresh shiitake, and locally-made frozen dumplings in the freezer section. reasonable prices and helpful staff.”
