What initially drew me to Carat To Karats Jewelers is that they are a "Better Business Bureau Accredited Business."
I recently visited Carat To Karats Jewelers to have my Swiss Army Watch battery replaced and to have my watch attached to a new watchband that I had brought in.
The proprietors: Mary & James Simons.
Mary Simons inspected and diagnosed my watch and watchband which she handed off to James Simons for battery replacement and watch band attachment which he did both - free of charge.
Mary & James Simons are just the nicest; kindest; pleasant; welcoming; respectful and polite people to deal with and they are both "extremely good" at what they do.
- Needless to say, this is now my go-to jewelers and jewelry place for any and all of my jewelry needs.

Service is terrible. Took my wife's watch in to get fixed. 5 months later I picked it up not fixed. Was told it would take 2 months. Which was not even close. Go somewhere else if u want it fixed.

I have been using this jewelry store to get various things fixed. One of the owners, James, specializes in repairing and cleaning watches. He did an amazing job cleaning my Longines watch and I was so happy with it. He also repaired my brother’s Omega. I love the fact that he will only replace broken pieces with the original good pieces that came with the watch and he will wait until he can find them. It may take him longer to fix them because he has so many clients, but he does an amazing job and it’s so worth the wait.
I recently brought in a few rings that I needed to be resized. One was a simple silver band that they were able to stretch and it fits perfectly now. My other two rings…. a vintage diamond band with delicate details, and a David Yurman ring…. needed to be cut in order to be resized. I was so worried about being able to tell where they cut the rings and added pieces. I just got them back yesterday. They fit perfectly and I cannot even see where they cut them because they did such an amazing job duplicating the design.
They have lovely jewelry as well. I would definitely recommend them for fixing watches and anything else you have. They are very professional, nice, and do a wonderful job.

My Suunto Altimeter watch which has lasted 20+ years was on its "last legs." I used it for many mountain climbs including Aconcagua (22,837 ft.) in the Andes, Mont Blanc (15,700 ft) in the Alps, and Kilimanjaro (19,300) in Tanzania.The circular plastic screw-off lid containing the battery could not be opened. I used several tools which actually damaged the slot where a coin or large screwdriver could be inserted to apply some torque. It was "frozen" in place and the o-ring gasket which makes the watch waterproof was damaged.A local jewelry store recommended Carats to Karat. They said that they had a real watchmaker with 35 years experience. I took my "dead" watch to James and he fixed it in about 5 minutes! He also put in a new o-ring and had the correct battery. The place exceeds all expectations!

My husband had his grandfathers gold pocket watch refurbished by James. He was extremely knowledgeable. Did a beautiful job on the watch. I had a diamond ring with loose diamonds refurbished as well and it came back looking sparkling new in fact better than it was when it was new. They are the best jewelers in the entire area of the Central Coast. Wonderful and trustworthy. Highly recommend them.

I wanted to have my grandmother's watch brought back to life & heard the only watch repairman on the Central Coast was at Carats to Karats in Nipomo. The store is easy to find on Tefft St & I was greeted warmly. It's a lovely little shop with many unique pieces of jewelry; they specialize in jewelry design. My watch was done faster than a anticipated & looks brand new! Very happy with their services.

I can't express how pleased I am with this jeweler. My husband had been passed down a family heirloom cocktail ring and we didn't know what to do with it. We found this place and asked if they made custom jewelry. YES YES YES! Between the cocktail ring and my engagement ring we had new rings made. We had two rings made for my sister in-laws so that they would have a piece of the heirloom. We had a new ring made for myself and Craig took my thoughts about what I wanted and turned them into three beautiful rings. I couldn't be more happy!!! I love how he took the white gold from my engagement ring to set the diamonds in and used the yellow gold from my husbands inherited ring to wrap the bottom of the ring as well as make two bands that go on both sides of the ring. Craig does beautiful work!!! I highly recommend this jewelry store. Mary was great support throughout the process of having the rings made and has EXCELLENT customer service!!! You won't be disappointed with their business!

I took some pieces in to be cleaned & make sure all the prongs were still tight. I expected to drop it off & pick them up in a few days (along with a bill for service). Imagine my shock & utter delight when they took my jewelry, inspected each, steam cleaned them to a sparkling shine all within 5 minutes and NO CHARGE! Staff was wonderful, helpful & very friendly...I will be back for all my repairs & purchases!

Don't know if you've ever tried to get an expensive wrist watch worked on in this area, but I took two Rolex watches to James for cleaning/repair and he did an excellent job at a reasonable price...he also replaced the battery in a quartz watch in minutes. Very high quality work in a timely manner for competitive prices. James is now my go-to jeweler!

I recently went into Carats to Karat to get a watch fitted. My experience with them was awesome ! Very friendly and local owners with very reasonable prices. 10/10 would recommend to any friends or family. Will be coming here for all my jewelry needs from now on ?
