People just don't seem to have basic manners these days. Use a different branch, the lady at the front desk is really unkind.

We are new customers of UB and like this location a lot. We drive here in spite we have much closer office. Special thanks to Mary Vachon, she helped us to get the loan. Her team of professionals took care of all the details, guided us through all the paperwork and we met all the deadlines. We are super happy and would definitely recommend Mary to our family and friends, especially if your situation is not typical and you need a big loan. They have different solutions for different circumstances.

Went in to open an account. Manager had a bad attitude. Was close to closing time and he acted as if it was a huge inconvenience. Thursday afternoon. Second time I've had a weird experience in a Union Bank. Wouldn't recommend doing business with them. Don't strike me as ones who are necessarily accommodating, or ones who put customers first.

I'm not sure why this branch has a 2 star rating. I've been banking here for at least 3 years. Most of the staff greet me by name when I walk in. They do this with most of the customers who come in. The service is always very prompt and the facility is clean.

If you Google Union Bank Yelp, or reviews, you will see that there have been 108 complaints filed against Union on Consumeraffairs.com. I experienced a nightmare with my business with a Union bank branch 15 minutes from this one. I was looking forward to personalized private banking for my business at Union Bank. I found inconsistent best of practice standards for new account review, and according to a Union branch executive I spoke with each Union bank branch differs with their new account review policy. The procedure also differs from employee to employee. This policy, or lack thereof resulted in Union bank freezing my new business account that had 7 figures in funds in it for almost a week. I had to do 95% of the work to get my funds recalled via a wire back to my old bank. If this were you, what might this do to your business? Its an important question when deciding who you can trust to be a quality business partner. You like I, need to depend upon trusted quality of service for our business banking. For now I will refrain from sharing more with you, but stay tuned. I am deciding upon next steps. I will say that Union Bank refused to even apologized in writing. Thus far, the moral of this story is Bank anywhere but Union Bank.

i cannot recommend this bank. i was having trouble with the customer service by phone and the local branch.thought another branch may help but this one did not help me. had to call back multiple times to get help, they said they would call me back but they did not. they dropped the ball. i got inconsistent service here also. i did open my account here originally. hoping for help and being a long time customer. as a whole there is something wrong with this bank. i have had many issues with rude or inept employees overtime. the company does not want to change their ways.or improve where needed. customers deserve better than this.somehow they just dont get it. dont blame the customers for their experiences.i will not support this bank because they support the bad behavior of their employees.must be coming from the top?

Can't I give it a negative rating? Have had my accounts with the office in NB closest to where since the 1980's. Never any overdrafts, nothing. Over the years I've had sporadic problems here and there, but it's so much of a hassle changing account numbers for automatic debits by vendors [utilites, ISP, etc.] that I just put up with them. Last week I wondered why a relative didn't send a thank you note for a gift check I sent. Rather than embarrass her, I opted to go online and see if the check was cashed. It was. Three months ago. When I looked to see who endorsed the back of the check, it was blank. Called the number and after 20 minutes of getting nowhere I was told to go to the bank. I don't have time to take off work, drive there and back, just to talk to some idiot in the office. I haven't been inside the bank in perhaps 20 years anyway. So I found the bank's local number, but considering all the voices I heard in the background, I probably was speaking to a call center in India. Couldn't even pronounce or spell the "customer service" person's name. After being placed on hold countless times with about 4 people I got nowhere and was told I had to go to the bank. This is insane. Union Bank is supposed to provide that info automatically. Because their scanner had an off day [or any of the other excuses given to me] it should not be incumbent on ME to waste MY time to deal with a bunch of morons. I'm done.

This is my favorite UB branch. Remi and Saba and Lauren are the best. Always friendly and always willing to help. The only drawback is that I get so wrapped up connecting and chatting with them that I loose track of time. Keep up the good work.

the Union Bank at superior avenue in Newport Beach double crossed me. Do not ever go in this branch again. I have an investigation from corporate Union Bank pending. They are completely being investigated. Do not let these people double cross you if you go in the bank. They are hypocrites.

This bank is the worst in customer service in everyway!! I take a deep breath before even walking in, as it is exumes such negative energy. If you are trying to make changes on accounts, etc ask more than one person if you feel you are getting unacceptable help..no one ever gives the same answers or help...not customer friendly.

Do not waste your time... Just had the most unpleasant person in loans pretty much tell me go take a hike! You would think they would put a potential customer first! NEVER AGAIN! Trying to refinance and was shot down without even checking information. Bad customer service from a horrible representative... Check elsewhere!

I have been coming to this branch of Union Bank since I opened my first savings account when I was 15. My parents and grandparents have been going to this bank since the dinosaurs roamed the earth. They have always treated me and my family like a member of their family and gone above and beyond the call of duty to help us with whatever we need. When I was going to college out of the county, they helped my parents with all kinds of crazy last minute money transfers and wire transactions when I spent too much on books. When I lived on the East Coast, I had a terrible time with Bank of America and identity theft. They helped me sort everything out and feel secure again. Their service has always been consistently excellent. Don't be swayed by these terrible reviews. I have only witnessed rude customers in Union Bank, never rude service. It's unfortunate, because these customers are the type of people that give beautiful Newport Beach a bad name. If you read between the lines, its more likely that these people were denied loans or services because they were not financially responsible or didn't qualify. They chose to blame the branch rather than their own poor decision making. Taking out your own frustrations on Yelp is really pretty pathetic and just not fair to businesses.

Kill yourself first...much easier than dealing with this place...expect to always be wrong, in the dark, and blamed for it all. Like fighting the devil...they never keep track, don't know, want me to provide proof, inconsistent rules and people don't know, and don't care, online banking is so difficult with them, they don't know online banking, Finally bitched out the manager and she couldn't take it so she closed my account...the only way to close it since i have a overdraft account with them... good luck!

I have been a customer for 13 years and would leave this bank because of so many mistakes, hidden added charges and rude service but I have a loan from them I am unable to transfer. The branch manager and supervisor have the WORST attitude, are RUDE and do not accommodate. They are slow to respond and are argumentative when it is their mistake. Would NEVER recommend this bank and especially this branch to anyone!!!

This has to be the most horrible branch of Union Bank ever! I have been a customer for over 10 years and have at least 5 accounts with the Bayside Branch, which has always been awesome and helpful. I deposited a check in this branch ATM because I was shopping at Gelson's. The check was not made out right and instead of calling me they mailed it back. That would have been ok if they had done that right. They mailed it back to an old business address that was over a YEAR old!!! How can a bank handling millions of dollars make a mistake like that????? If I tried to use that old zip code on my ATM my purchase would be declined! After 3 weeks and still no sign of the check I spoke to the Branch Manager Monica and she told me she was too short staffed to call the post office and try to put a tracer on it or find out what and how long it takes to make it back to the branch. She said she wouldn't have time until NEXT week! That would be a month! How much time does she think I have spent on the phone for 3 weeks trying to get the check replaced, found or even the error explained to me????? Customer service is 0 stars. If you are considering Union Bank I would NOT consider this branch. HORRIBLE SERVICE and ATTITUDE!!!!!
