The manager here is a rude B***H, that's coming up with asinine rules when entering a MALL location. I came in to do an exchange after purchasing food in the food court adjacent to their store. The employee immediately states "you can't have drinks inside." I'm well aware of safety regulations around COVID and no where does it state that you can't hold onto a drink around peers. Apparently this "crazy virus can spread through a cup with a lid on it now a days--watch out!" I told the girl that I'm doing an exchange, I'm on my lunch break, the outdoor court is full and I'm going to now have to take my food back to work, so I'd like to quickly do my exchange and I'm not planning on scarfing down my lunch in their building. She was cool, allowed the exception, with risk of my drink exposing them all! Then the girl is processing my exchange and the manager has to then re-scold me stating "for future reference you can't have drinks indoors here." I stated again, yah I wasn't planning on drinking anything I'm on my lunch break getting things done real quick. But no, she's got to ensure I understand.. because apparently I'm not an adult that understands their ridiculous "rules." "Yah but for future reference it won't be allowed." Cool cool cool.. I'll just order elsewhere, I'll take my business to a store with a brain! One that tells their customers "while your shopping please do not eat or drink" versus "don't come in." I mean.. I had NO CLUE that Ulta wasn't a seating dining establishment! My bad! If you suffer working from an annoyingly entitled B like this, PLEASE please look for a new job, they exist! And if you're trying to buy from here.. I promise everything is either cheaper or same price on Amazon, I've looked! I'll even loan you my prime login! Hit me up

Terribly incompetent customer service and super dirty store. I was there today for the third time in the past month and, again, I'm going to Macy's to buy my makeup because I just cannot stand the mess around the products here. The manager who refused to give us her name is extremely rude (like last time when she totally disregarded our reasonable dissatisfaction) and literally was nasty to another polite customer as well...

Let start off by saying how amazing this store is! Love how they carry a variety of brands and products for all of our beauty needs! I've encountered some nice ladies with outstanding, helpful customer service! I was in today in search of a good full coverage powder Kat approached me and was quick to assist me with my purchase. But when I checked out Angelica whom I've encountered twice has always been the worst at her job. Very short, rude and non helpful in any way just a negative individual who is in the wrong occupation. I was trying to pull up a 20% coupon on my which I couldn't find and when I asked for her assistance she was annoyed and stated she needed to see a barcode instead of being helpful! I refuse to go back when she is there! Super unpleasant

So I found out something new that I think all readers need to be aware. Not all Ulta has the same pricing. Yesterday I bought an item at my closes Ulta (thank god not this rude location ) and it was on sale, the same day my husband goes to the Ulta near his work the god awful location (store 620) and gets the same item yet it's more expensive. Once he got home and told me how much he got his item for I told him he should return it and get the difference since the exact same item was cheaper at another store. Long story short that can't happen at Ulta and prices can vary, which I understand. What I don't understand is how the "supervisor" Jocelyn was so freaking rude about it. We are not experts at Ulta policy so her attitude was unnecessary and unprofessional. Maybe we were the wrong color for her? I'm pretty sure if she was talking to someone else she wouldn't have been so rude. Seriously whoever is in charge needs to do a training on race relations and service.

I came in to return a product here that I tried to return at the other Ulta location in costa mesa, and to pick up some tinted moisturizer I ordered online. I literally just can't comprehend how much better my experience was at this location.
I walked in, was helped within minutes and the girl processing my return was understanding and listened to my feedback. She didn't know how to scan the item and another employee fixed it in 10 seconds. This return which caused me so much grief and was flat out denied at the costa mesa Ulta was handled in 2 minutes roundtrip at the Fashion Island Ulta.
I was also able to pick up my brand new UNUSED it cosmetics tinted moisturizer.
After having such a negative experience at the other location, I'm happy to report a significantly better experience at this store.

Recently moved to LA and have been looking for a new salon...James and Lucia are amazing! I came in for root touch up, highlights and cut and got exactly what I wanted! I love my new look! Thank you and see you in six weeks!!

RETURN POLICY??? Customers beware.. so unfortunate that this particular store at Fashion Island has terrible service and rude staff members that compulsively lie to your face about their return policies. They were unwilling to take a return for a shampoo I bought that basically damaged my hair even though the return was WELL WITHIN the return window. The manager said that I had “all this time” to return the item even though I was still 2 days behind their 60 day return policy. I try not to go out because of COVID and she can’t expect everyone to make frequent visits like that.. her service and attitude was shocking and terrifying to say the least. Will not shop at this location again. :(

Please be aware, double check your purchases!! I was visiting Newport and I bought a dolce and Gabbana perfume from this location that looked sealed up and had a security tag on as well. So I didn't double check it when I was paying for it. Later when I opened the packet, I noticed the cap was missing and the whole bottle was empty!! I called the shop and explained the situation and told them that I cannot return it to the store because I was on my way back home. The manager told me to take it to any ulta store and get a refund or return. I did that but was told that they won't return or exchange it since it was not bought at their store. I called the store back and told them the situation and explained to them what had happened but they said they couldn't do anything about it because it had never happened before and they checked the security camera and said they didn't see anyone temper with it before they rung me up. Keep in mind, this tempering could have happened prior to me buying it and I suspect its one of their staff who's doing this!! Im really disappointed with this kind of service. Even customer service told me they couldn't do anything about this and that i would have to go to the store i bought it from. I even asked if my sister could bring in the item with the receipt if i mailed it to her and they said they cannot do that. Just be careful purchasing items from ANY ulta store and especially this store where they are covering up this kind of activity where they temper with the item and put it back on the shelf.Looks like someone carefully opened the packet and glued it back. The glued part has fingerprints on it as well!! So I can guarantee that one of the staff did this!Update: I emailed and reached out to ULTA and they said someone will reach out to me about the experienceI had, but nobody reached out. So shop at your risk. They obviously do not care about customers feedback ?.

One of the staff is Clearly tempering with the products and putting it back on the shelf and is cheating with loyal ulta customers. Think twice before going in especially if you are visiting. No other ulta store is willing to refund or exchange this stores mess!
Now I have a $64 plus tax worth of empty bottle to remind me never to purchase anything from ULTA!
