I am not from the area of this business but had an urgent matter with my car that needed to be fixed asap while we were on vacation. Although this shop was not able to fix the problem they figured out what was wrong. The gentlemen appeared honest, kind and helpful in my state of panic. There are people that restore your faith in humanity and this shop does just that.

Cars tire got slashed by a piece of metal on the road and I called Tom and he was more than helpful. Will definitely be back with any problems I have in the future.

Finding an honest, fair and reliable mechanic is a challenge but thanks to my Yelpers I was beyond happy to find Island Auto Repair with all their great reviews! I am old school when it comes to a business that has served it's community for years. It speaks volumes about their credibility and trustworthiness. It was important to me to find the right mechanic for my grandson who is ready to go serve and needs to keep his car in top condition for his return (leave). He needed a starter and it is easy to be quoted a higher price especially if a mechanic thinks you may not be returning anytime soon. Not here. Their service was excellent and a quick response, his car was ready within 24 hours. Tom and John were both awesome to speak with. They provided years of experience and quality workmanship. There is only one way to say this..there is no better mechanic around and if you want honesty and exceptional service then look no further. I highly recommend them!!

I’ve gone to this shop twice when having my wheels powder coated and loved the work they did. Unlike some auto shops, these guys take good care of your vehicle and I greatly appreciated that they returned my car back to me with no scratches or dents in my wheels. I also liked that they work on modern cars as well as classics. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for an auto body shop.Service: Tyres

Our AC went out in our car while on vacation and these guys were able to get me in right away and got my car fixed in a timely manner. They were honest and had our best interest in mind. They were really easy to work with and are very knowledgeable! I would highly recommend them!

Great experience. Came with a cracked oil pan. Jon and Tom verified the cracked oil pan. The part was expensive but they looked for aftermarket parts (I did too, oem was the only option). They fixed my car in a timely fashion, stress free professional fashion.

Had an issue with front suspension on my suv and brought it into Island Auto Repair and was amazed at how Tom knew what the issue was and told me he would have it fixed in a couple of hours and he delivered right on time and he diagnosed it perfectly. My family has been coming here for 30+ years ever since the shop was located on Balboa Island. Tom and his crew are honest straight shooters. They will tell you what you need and not up sale. I debated not reviewing island auto because I didnt want to let the secret out on this great business.

I needed to get my air-conditioning charged. I checked around and most places wanted 150 bucks upfront then fix it and then deduct from that 150 what the cost might be. I called Island auto repair Tom said it would be $75 plus $16 per pound. I went in it was done in a half hour and it was perfect. No BS just fixed what l needed to get fixed. I highly recommend this place!
