There's at least one employee - a tall WHITE guy - who can't seem to live a life outside the library. This is his home. And he wants to keep it the way he likes it. he can become OVERBEARING sometimes---+It has a lot of nice features and generally nice atmosphere . However there are a few " obsessive compulsive" personalities at the public computers that always make it a little creepy . Two people in the downstairs lab (one female, the other male) are there SO OFTEN- esp the guy, you begin to feel like you are in their bedroom or living room. I just don't like being there anymore when they are there , which is almost always ?.Maybe they could have a time limit on the downstairs computers to help move some of these over-users on to living a life. Or at least go upstairs for a while. Take a walk. Call your family. Make a new friend. See your therapist. Go to the beach ⛱️. Live a life . You CAN do it ?

I love everything about this facility. Extensive collections of books, audiobooks, research materials, audio labs, podcast labs, computers to borrow, study rooms, plenty of free garage parking, free Wi-Fi with fast internet, spacious, nice panoramic views for your creativity, children sections, very clean space, and academically stimulating atmosphere! Getting your library card is so quick and easy, the staff is helpful and hospitable. Perfect place to get things done and be in the zone of knowledge and productivity. Thank you for welcoming me into such an incredible visit, I will absolutely be coming back here soon.

The library holds hundreds of people in the second floor bathroom is the size of a phone booth. Design fail.

Love love love love libraries. I am blessed that Newport has several branches. When I moved from Brazil ( there we don't have libraries. Unless colleges and schools) I got my library card before I got my drive license ) the staff are always helpful and nice. I could write a book about this subject

The Newport Beach Library is great and it’s much more than being a library. There are lots of events and many levels with great places to read and to attend events.I meet my friends and other people there for learning together and for business meetings. Our children love going to the library too. There’s so much to do and see. It’s absolutely gorgeous as you look outsideParking is excellent and it’s proximity to Bristol Farms make it easy to shop and grab a biteEnjoy the library and relish this gem

I love it here! There's options if you want a private study session as well as an outdoor option with a view! This is a go to if you need to study or have anything to work on

This is an independent library for the city that is NOT part of the county. So if you have an orange county public library card, that will not work here. That being said because Newport is one of the wealthier cities in Orange county, the library is magnificent. The architecture, share vastness of space, organization and decor are top notch for a public library. Also, behind there is an entire sculpture exhibition in the civic center park which houses the famous Bunnyhenge display. You do have to be a resident of California to a free Newport Beach library card. It's just a really quick sign up on a half sheet of paper and show your ID. There is a limit of 50 items checked out per card. (More restrictions on electronic media). There is a media lab on the lower floor, a copy center, a resource desk, 18 section, a children section, etc. A really great library and so glad I stopped by to sign up for a card finally

Wonderful place to study and do research. Lots of amenities throughout, including desks and outlets. You can also catch some sun and sit outside at the several tables, or lay out a towel and lounge in the grass.

Best public library in Southern California in my opinion. The extended hours are quite a lifesaver when working on a deadline. And the librarians are actually polite and courteous?! And there is online access to Linkedin training. And they have wonderful events, I could go on and on...

For Review #476, oh crap! I've miscounted. I'd like it to land here at 'Newport Beach Public Library,' and wow!!!! This Is like The Most beautiful local libraries Out in the South OC area that I have ever explored. I went further out from 'Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar,' last trip so I also drove down Newport Beach City Hall where the Community Library was. I soooo borrow books here all the time if I lived in the OC area.....It's not far from either the Corona Del Mar Plaza or 'Crystal Cove Shopping Center,' either. I'll do be back in a flash!I can just drive down here on the next upcoming weekends or another next long weekend. What a beauty! I have taken a video somewhere stored in my camera roll. Gotta look for that.

Staff members are kind and friendly. You can check out 50 books and 10 DVDs. They will automatically renew 4 times. It’s not an OC library branch but you can make a card with your CA driver’s license.
