Complete amd utter disrgard for client needs. Inefficiency, lack of empathy for the covid financial crisis, just begins to outline the Citibank experience at this branch.After over 30 years of being a customer of Citibank and even having family work for decades with the bank, you would think we would be at the top of the list for a proactive approach and assistance to deal with the pandemic/financial crisis that was just beginning in late March 2020. Instead, inefficiency, lack of knowlwdge and template emails became the defintion of assistance, as well as, ridiculous denials for a customer with a 740 FICO and decades of a personal and commercial banking relationship. I can only explain this by sharing that in my opinion, our bank balances, background and ethnicity did not meet the Newport Beach median, which resulted in an end to pre-pandemic customer service norms.The last straw, a call 2 days before boxes were being closed, for some unknown reason, when I was told that regardless of my out of state situation, I either showed up in person or my box would be opened and the contents shipped to NY City. No flexibility, no alternatives. Even sending a representative not an option, even though the Branch Manager has personally known me for some 7 years. Bottom Line Do not consider this behemoth that has no time for customer service.

They will not cash checks drawn on Citibank at this location, they say they only can do it at certain branches, glad this is not my bank.

Over regulated bank with too many rules. Does the bank think they can stop fraud with all the fees and rules applied to bank ing? Not the most user friendly bank.

So I am asked by my finance manager to please open a Citibank account because some investors and clients prefer their banks for business. I understand, but obviously this bank doesn't get it. Not only that issue, but if I didn't have absolute verification of my address I couldn't have an account opened. My business license filing wasn't enough and even an affidavit of insurance my agent sent wasn't acceptable. I don't pay utilities so I couldn't provide proof of utilities. I went through the entire list of requirements and nothing was acceptable. I could publish in yellow pages, but I already published in the local paper from state regulation to make my fictitious name legal. See the stupidity that I was put through. I decided this bank was not for me.

The banking industry has it's bumps and deservedly so. But I must give a shout out to my Bank. They are always so professional and accommodating in everything I ask for. It is nice to have that level of attention and caring that has long left this industry. I recommend highly joining this bank. Be aware, they are not everywhere and it is sometimes difficult to find a branch but for my local bank in Newport, Love them!!

Management has no concept of customer service this should not be a branch bank open to public but a private banking office
Poorly staffed, poorly run
Unknowledgeable or limited scope
Poorly lit - Appears closed
Untrained Tellers left to cope
It's embarrassing I'm still there. Am finally leaving after 16 year relationship that began in NY. Going to new CHASE who has opted for hyper- customer based service.
Sorry I'm s long time CITI person.
Don't go there.
