We needed hats for our river ride and we got ‘em here — authentic African grass hats that are durable, water happy, and wide brimmed for big days of sun. The shop has lots of choice funky threads and small gift ideas. If you like to shop in peace it seems the staff is committed to letting you be.

I went here recently to buy a Christmas gift for my girlfriend and I could not have found a better store. The rings were extraordinary and the prices were perfect. The quality found throughout the store is next to none!

This is a really great store with a lot of different things in it! We spent a lot of time in here. They had a lot if handmade items which I really enjoyed, I bought a really cute bracelet made in Bali. And then I found the mirror and it was done for. I had to buy it! Everyone was really friendly and helpful in there and the prices weren't too bad compared to other stores.

I went into Solstice across the street and saw what looked like a yard sale from the 70s and 80s... When the sales person, who was not particularly polite to begin with, gave up and actually tried to help me find what I was looking for she was at least kind enough to refer me here. What a relief, asylum down has a fantastic and original sense of taste, global, creative, authentic. And Peggy was incredible at listening to what I was looking for and finding great options from all corners of the store. Finally I assembled a full outfit that I really liked. After all that she offered me a nice discount since I was buying several pieces, and on top of that she agreed to put a quick stitch in the neck of the tunic because I didn't like how big the neck line was. Overall, she was amazing, the store is amazing, and my outfit received many compliments when I wore it a couple nights later! This is the place! Somewhat embarrassingly, I now see this is a woman's clothing store LOL, and I admit it does take some courage to wear tights, but why should women have all the fun?!

I've been shopping here for years and come back every time I'm in town. I get compliments on the pieces I buy here and have some garments I've worn for 20+ years. Definitely recommend it for all folks with a playful heart.
