They took the car in a left it sitting for 2 weeks while trying to do a supplemental estimate. They then let me take the car and told me they were going to contact the insurance. After 2 months of them ghosting me and ignoring my calls I had to find another auto shop. They have terrible service and are not reliable

Needed a repaint for my '09 civic si. My dad and I were able to negotiate a deal to repaint 2 cars. Upon picking up both cars, I noticed bubbles here and there. Was told by Jesse to come back after a couple weeks so the paint "will fully dry" before sanding and getting it detailed. Called before the 2nd week to schedule an appt. Although he insisted on waiting after another week due to a holiday, I brought my car in on a Friday(2nd visit) on the 2nd week to do the "finishing" touches. Upon pick up, bubbles were still present, detailed patches were visible on the car including bubbles that we mentioned upon 1st pick up. They were unable to fix everything at that moment so we were asked to come back AGAIN to "fix it". At this point my dad was in communication with the owner. Upon making arrangements to drop off the 3rd time, we were told to drop it off on a certain Saturday, which we did, but Roberto, the one who manages the garage was not told about my car being dropped off hence, we were unable to leave my car due to "many other cars" that they needed to get done. Finally the 4th time, I dropped off my car. At this point my family and I were just done with the place. But I needed certain areas of my car to at least look decent. Upon pick up, we were told the bumper was repainted (note: after repainting, the part of the process is to let the paint dry then sand then polish), but "looked so good" that it didn't need to be sanded & polished. Also, still had indentation where the bubbles were. There is also a spot where they sanded down part of the door and didn't even try to polish it down. At that point we picked up my car and didnt say a word to them. We do plan on filing a formal complaint with BBB. Make sure to check out other spots before you go to this place. Know that they're busy working on contracted vehicles like Amazon so they like to focus on them first rather than cars where they wouldn't make much revenue compared to them. Lesson definitely learned on this one. Also, my dad's rims were ruined because they didn't cover the wheels when they painted on the top coat on the car. They tried to fix it but couldn't.

Jesse & Pepe are the best! They gave us a good deal for all the repairs our cars needed! We highly recommend them. Their prices are very competitive. If you are looking for an auto body shop look no further!!

This body shop made my door look like it has a huge stain when it only had few scratches they did the worse paint job in history. I'm very disappointed they are only here to collect a check. if you are not member of the club or close friend be prepared to get a crappy job done on your car. They never answer the phone. Stay away from this business your better off gettin your car painted else where. I'm beyond upset I've called several times to dispute this matter and not a call-back or Jamie the owner isn't here. After bragging about his paint jobs and you did a horrific one on mine ????? Stay away! Wasted my time and didn't start on the job on the day we agreed they were paid beforehand

If I could give zero stars this rating would be more accurate. This body shop was recommended to me by the owners club buddy who is also a friend of mine and boy, has this been the absolute worst, most stressful and expensive experience I have ever had! I feel like this recommendation might have been some type of revenge towards me for some reason to say the least. Stay away from this body shop at all costs!! Unless you belong to the owners car club otherwise you will be robbed of your time and money, this shop has zero integrity. I wrecked my car in an accident, this shop seemed delighted to do the work, was super friendly prior to receiving the insurance check then once they got that check in their name and in their bank account I received no response, no phone calls of mine were answered, my insurance couldn't get a hold of them either. Straight up ghosted me. By the way, the phone number shown belongs to the shop owner, Jaime. It is a personal cell phone. This place does not have a front desk receptionist, and basically doesn't run like a business should. He would ignore my texts and phone calls and never return the call or reply. My car just sat there untouched for over 5 weeks. I worked in Carmel mountain so I had to drive out here in traffic which would take me an hour just to check on the status of my car and to my surprise both times, in the same spot not a single thing touched. I spoke to an older gentleman there who said in his defense the car parts were hard to get and were expensive, b******** My car is a Honda, that doesn't take 6 weeks to ship. Also he let me know that Jaime was presently in court. I decided to stick around and wait for him to get back to personally speak to him. He told me he would pay for my rental which I was paying out of pocket for his delay! I said cool, at least that. However, he never contacted Enterprise to put his card on file so he took his sweet time, yet again. Meanwhile, they were charging me. It got so bad that I reached out to him repeatedly over this concern and said I have maxed out my credit card paying for your delay. I was due to pay an additional $700 and that was only if I got my car back the next day after bringing this to his attention, then all of a sudden " I can only help you with half the amount of the rental because your car had some parts that I had to pay out of pocket that your insurance wouldn't cover and I wanted to do you the favor" first of all, I knew he was lying because I have full coverage and every thing in that estimate was accounted for. He says my car is ready, I go pick it up. Airbag sensor is not detecting the airbag on both driver and passenger, also my car trembles excessively while running. He says "oh that light just needs to be reset but you're ok" why would any shop hand over a vehicle that is not complete?! Basically if I get in a car crash, the airbag will not deploy. He guaranteed it would but what good is your word when a sensor isn't set to go off when needed? He didn't seem to care. He kept saying his mechanic wasn't available. As a shop owner, you watch your own a** to make sure the job is complete because that's your responsibility, you do not ever give someone a car back that way and put their life in jeopardy, also what is the excuse to not have the car be complete? they had my car in their shop for over 2 months!!Every time I would call or text to see if the mechanic was there, "my mechanic isn't here" or I would simply not get an answer. I informed my insurance of all this and he said my windshield was cracked and had to pay for it out of pocket, that was a lie. My adjuster sent me photos of my wreck, no crack on the windshield in sight. They must have damaged my windshield and obviously had to replace out of pocket then wanted to blame my insurance not covering just so he didn't have to pay me the $700 + he owed me for the rental. My insurance is well aware of every single issue I'

I am writing to file a formal complaint against: J & A Auto Body and Paint located at 1304 Roosevelt Ave, National City CA 91950. I feel this business has wronged many insurance claims customers and have not attempted to right the wrongs, along with poor communication and service. I wanted to support local businesses here in National City and by hearing about the great work and paint from local National City news and car clubs, I chose J & A for my insurance claim. Not only were they un-communicative to my insurance company, the owner also ignored my calls and seemed to never be there at the shop. A normal insurance repair claim should approximately take 20 to 30 days, especially for a consistent busy body shop. However, my vehicle was kept there for over 60 days. Since July 17th until September 20th. On top of the fact, that I had to see my vehicle untouched and in the same spot for the 45 days while it was there, exactly in the same spot unmoved whenever I drive by to go to work, while they focused on their own priorities such as their car club. How do I know this, because there are posted photos and dates of their car club meetings with the owner there. So, it goes to show that he was ignoring communication with my insurance company, with me and not working to get my vehicle completed. Also the fact that he assured my insurance company he should finish the repairs by August 15th. Again, false statements and avoidance of communication by Jaime, the owner. You would assume the issues end there, but they continue. Not only did I lose time because they ignored working on my vehicle, I not only lost time, but I had to pay out of pocket for beyond my covered rental expenses due to the delay on J & A's end, and to add another factor, the vehicle was still incomplete. I had to finally relinquish my car from the shop, and the auto shop did not do the final diagnosis of the electrical system, so now both Driver and passenger Airbag lights are flashing, and I stated that the car is not complete still and with the lights, I stated, "how do I know that my safety is assured ?" and in which he replied, "it will work, no problem. My mechanic is not here and come back and he will fix it" and wanted to try to joke around and say "if you want, I can set off the airbag manually right now". As if that will assure me it will work. Just to give you an idea, the calibration and airbag system requires a dealer level calibration computer and estimates start at $450 and up. Also, another notation, no invoice was provided to either me or my insurance, which is against California State insurance laws as indicated by my insurance carrier. So, after over 60 days, my vehicle was not only ignored, but provided mediocre service and work and technically still unfinished to this day. I cannot stand silent, while this body shop boasts that they provide excellent service and work to the community of National City. They seem to only want to work on classic cars and paint jobs, since that is their specialty. If so, then stick to that. But in regards to claims, please go along with your insurances' approved list of body shops. I have since attempted to contact the shop, and no surprise, calls ignored, voicemail full and the mechanic seems to be on vacation ever since I relinquished my vehicle and my insurance cannot contact them as well. I truly believe in supporting our local businesses for that what makes us all thrive and bond together. I have had numerous excellent encounters at other auto repair shops, dealerships. Yet, I am very compliant and rare to file a complaint, but I felt this needed to be addressed for I could not stay silent knowing that this is not how others should be treated and how a business should be conducted here in National City.

Overdue review... I took my car in to have hail damage removed in October of 2017. They worked with my insurance to get it all done. It took a while to get my car back but it was because of the insurance not knowing how to quote hail damage in California. Lol it didn't matter to me much as I was headed to fleet week and didn't need my car. When my husband and I went to look at the progress, there was a blemish on the car, BUT they took care of it. That's something very important to me in a company, that they do things right by the customer. Since then I have had no issues with my paint. I went with the same grey paint. I'll post after pics when I was my car. :)

I had a very good experience with Johnny and Jaime at J&A Body shop. My 2013 Hyundai came in with the front bumper all scraped, cracked and chipped. In three days they made my car look brand new!! Above and beyond my expectation. Lots of little extra surprises, like cleaning the entire car. Thank you J&A! Good job!!

do not do work here they have my car for a week now and haven't done a single thing. Horrible customer service, they only have one number and its cell number that is full of voicemails. All shops in national city area are mediocre at best. This is a joke of a company. Do not do insurance claims at this shop because they will screw you. I gave my car last monday and they have yet to send a supplement bid to the insurance company.
