TLDR: SCAM STAY AWAY!!!!!!I used to never have problems with this pharmacy but my latest interaction tells me that maybe they hired new staff. I called about getting a prescription filled last week and they let me know it was filled. Great! I'll pick it up on the weekend. When I came on the weekend, they said it had been over week since it was filled and that they cancel the order if it doesn't get picked up. The problem is I was never called or in any way notified that my prescription was filled. They asked me if I wanted it refilled again and I declined. I decided I'd go with a pharmacy closer to me so that I can pick up the prescription sooner.Fast forward two days later, I requested my doctor to send the same prescription to a closer pharmacy and that pharmacy calls me to tell me they cannot fill my prescription because it has been filled at another pharmacy. I call this Safeway pharmacy and, 1. get put on hold right after being taken off hold. 2. get told it was filled again. I asked to cancel the prescription and they agree and then hang up. There is no ending the call, nothing. No confirmation that my prescription has been canceled.Rude. Never coming back again, thank you.Update: They've been charging my insurance every two weeks for medication I was never notified to pick up and never got. I am now fighting to get my prescription taken away from this pharmacy.

The pharmacist is rude and didn't provide me with good service for my appointment. Safeway isn't the same as it used to be now bad prices mediocre deals and lack luster from all aspects of the store.

Horrible experience. Avoid this pharmacy if possible. It took four trips to this store to fill a simple prescription. Excuses included: not ready, come back in 20 minutes (in barely understandable English), don’t have this medicine today (after another 20 min delay). They took no responsibility for their failures. Asked me to wait in a long line AFTER I waitied for their mistakes. There are hundreds of better pharmacies. Avoid this one.

Very bad. Avoid this place if possible. Rude, incompetent employees. Wasted too much time for a simple prescription. Maybe switch to online or mail refills. This place is horrible.

I know things can get in the way of you being able to do your job but for me to have waited the 30min, after the 30min not have the pills ready and still having to wait for you to help the 3 ppl in line is just BS. At the end I was told to just go to the CVS across the street. I have no problem going somewhere else just tell me that from the beginning.

I have been a long-time pharmacy customer at this location and come in quite often as I manage my family's as well as my parents' medications. The regular pharmacist always took good care of us, remembering details such as if we had changed doctors, coordinating the timing on filling the many different prescriptions to help save me trips, and giving us tips when we encounter a problem with prescription coverage or insurance issues. I have seen this crew go through some tough times, with high staff turnover due to the pandemic, to as recent as this past Sunday when I visited at 4pm and heard from the pharmacist that the power had gone out 5 times that day and hence they had to reboot the system and lose 15 minutes each time that happens, and had some dropped calls too. I agree with a previous reviewer that stated that they do need more help, especially since I can certainly see that they are much busier now with people showing up to get vaccinated and expecting to be helped right away. When I first started using this pharmacy 4 years ago, there was always 2 to 3 people working at a time. Now, it's often just one person. You can only do so much at one time, no matter how great you are at multitasking! Please properly staff your crew so they can take good care of us.

I used to love this Safeway when they first opened. It was clean, open 24/7, plenty of parking with plenty of other shops and what not in the San Antonio shopping center. I even liked their pharmacy. However, now that it has been a few years, their pharmacy has gone to s**** I got my medication filled like normal earlier this year and wanted to change pharmacies since I no longer live in Mountain View. I had called earlier and turns out someone had already filled it so I decided to come on the weekend to pick it up only to find out it was past the 7 days when I had only called 3 days prior. They asked if I wanted to wait 30 minutes to fill it and I declined. I requested then requested that it be changed by my doctor and the new pharmacy received the order only to call me back and say my prescription had been filled elsewhere. So called this pharmacy back and the lady was rude and hung up without confirming or anything. Just cut the line! Now I checked my insurance and it looks like they have been filling and charging me ahead of time without ever notifying me that the medication has been filled. They do put it back on the shelf and cancel the charge but that is medication that I haven't been able to get for a month with all of the frustrations dealing with them. Don't come here if you want to get your medications on time.

I ordered lobster tail online for grab and go. It processed through but the next morning right before pick up time, Safeway cancelled my order and when I ask about another day for grab and go..... they won’t honor their deal nor will they issue a rain check for it. 7 family order online this is what happened. They didn’t have the inventory but use this lobster deal to get people to shop at Safeway. This is very bad customer service. I’ll never order online from Safeway again.

They are open 24x7 and I usually go late in the evening after 9 pm so the lines are almost non-existent. The store is well-stocked and huge, so you can pretty much expect to find everything you're looking for under one roof. The baked goods section is a personal favorite. In case you need to shop around, there's a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Target, and Walmart all within walking distance so you're at least in the right neighborhood if Safeway isn't cutting it for you. There's also a Starbucks (not 24x7) inside the store including all the other services you'd typically find at a Safeway.
