I had a wonderful experience with Mr. Saunders. He was able to fix my wedding band quickly, skillfully and faultlessly. My ring looks brand new and I know that Mr. Saunders spent a lot of time working on it. He is a wonderful jeweler and Monterey is blessed to have him.

I can not say enough about how talented Mr Saunders is. He is a true craftsman and artist, and young at heart at 80 years old. Recently went in with my husband to get my new wedding ring extended and Mr Saunders explained the process, sized me snd fast prompt service. Didn't think it was possible to love my new ring more but i do. Will absolutely be a return happy customer!

Steve did a remarkable job of resizing my dear grandmother's gold wedding band to fit my smaller finger. Steve is an extremely skilled and detail oriented master jeweler...he painstakingly downsized the band and retained the integrity of the flowing cursive inscription inside. WB to JC July 22, 1922 with no distortion. My heart is touched every time i read it. The cost was most reasonable and am most grateful to Steve!

I bought a ring on Etsy and wanted to ensure I paid a reasonable price, as well as look at options for a wedding band. I walked into Gaspers across the street, they told me $100 and three weeks. I said screw that and walked out. I ran into Steve's store on my way back home, and decided to check it out. I handed over the ring and he took a look at it right then and there. Beautiful pieces, excellent service. Will definitely return for my wedding band.

Seriously amazing! I'm getting married next week and have a family bracelet that I wanted to wear for the ceremony as my "something old", but it was too big on my wrist. I figured it was a long shot to find someone who would be able to help me a few days before Christmas, but I called Steve based on his other Yelp reviews. When he saw the bracelet in person he explained it was more complicated than initially thought on the phone because the tiny links were fused together and there was a mix of metals next to diamonds. So, it would be a delicate process to remove the links,refuse the separate pieces back together, and keep the movement of the original bracelet. He was going to work on it the next day (which I already thought was really fast) but called me about an hour or two after I left his store. He had already completed the work! The bracelet fits perfectly and he was able to keep the movement. Thank you, Steve! I really appreciate your help!

I came into the shop a few months ago, and am very glad I did. It was on a whim, as I had seen his sign from Alvarado St. and decided to pop in and check it out. All I knew is that I wanted to see the selection of rings and possibly buy one. As soon as I walked in I saw a marvelous display of jewelry unlike anything I’ve seen at other jewelery stores. Steve was working at his table, and once he saw my friend and I enter we were greeted cordially and asked what he could do for us. At this point our conversation started and I got a glimpse into the mind of a master jeweler. After sharing his wisdom and humor with us, we got around to finding a ring. He knew right away what had drawn my eye, and with just a glance he picked the one that fit me just right. I can only describe my experience as refreshing, as Steve is a truly genuine person. I am very pleased with my purchase and am looking forward to doing business with Steve in the future.

Incredible knowledge and truly a great guy!My son and I were visiting from out of town on vacation when we came across this wonderful jewelry store off the beaten path in downtown Monterey. Steve was inviting, friendly and very helpful. He enlightened us with stories from his past while we meandered through the display cases and admired his craftsmanship. Its not often I go Jewelry shopping, but when I do, I’ll make sure I go to Steve Saunders. Cheers!

Steve Saunders is a true "master jeweler." I took my platinum ring that I've been beating up for nearly 20 years to be re-sized smaller and my partner and I can't be happier. It fits me perfectly. Not only that, he rounded the corners (so it's more comfortable than ever before), and the diamonds seem to sparkle more than when new (if that is possible)! The BONUS is that what he charged was extremely reasonable, so reasonable we weren't expecting such a superb workmanship. Yes, we recommend him highly!
