“As in other branches, of PVB, people are always welcoming and friendly. Personnel are very accommodating and flexible. Their protocol and practices are very professional; I recommend this bank!”

“The personal bankers, Helen & Diana took stellar care of my hubby and I while we were changing around our account information. I had a small snafu with my debit card working thereafter and they again took stellar care of me and got me all fixed up!”

“I’m partial to local banks and like to have a personal relationship with them. But - as nice as the folks in the Carmel branch are - they don’t seem very swift. It takes a long time to complete any kind of transaction in the bank. I hear a lot of “I don’t know” and “Call back tomorrow and I’ll have an answer”. They need an online app too. Again - they are Nice to customers and that counts!”

“I have been with Comerica for over 40 years, when it first opened as Valley National Bank back in the 70's. I have been through each merger and never experienced any problems. The staff from Sue down to her tellers, I have always received 5 star treatment. It's with a sad heart that I am discontinuing my banking relationship with them but I moved out of the Monterey area to Los Banos where they don't have a branch. I can't recommend this bank enough. It gives you a small hometown feeling from the minute you walk into the branch and every one greets you by your first name and if you're are bringing in a fur-baby, they generally know its name and offers it a treat. I am with a bank here in Los Banos which has started out with a 5-star rating. They also greet you by name and make you feel very comfortable.”

“Anthony was so helpful and kind while opening my son's first checking account. My son got his first job and needed an account for a direct deposit. My husband and I have Chase accounts. I've been to 3 branches now; this branch on Alvarado St Monterey, the branch on South Main in Salinas and our home branch in Pacific Grove. Each time I have needed assistance for opening accounts or getting notary service, the staff has treated me and every other customer as if we were VIPs. I appreciate the personal attention and efficiency of the Chase Bank staff. Their service has been consistently excellent at each branch.”

“Wells Fargo bank is a typical California bank, so not much to say there. However, this location in Monterey is truly unique. Made from a restored church, the exterior doesn't look like a bank at all, and when you enter, the tall ceiling and other fixtures they preserved are beautiful. Makes you want to have a reason to just go in and check on your account!”

“This is a great location. Very clean and modern inside with extremely helpful staff. I needed to do a Domestic Wire and was in and out in 45 minutes. There is security on site and several ATMs so there's never a line. Nice big parking lot as well.”

“This is my closest branch. Everyone here is very nice. However they seem to always be short on tellers? Typically one working, maybe two if you're lucky. They have updated the ATMs so you can get different denominations of bills, not just $20s which I think is cool. If you need to do business in the branch be prepared to wait, plan ahead.”

“Always responsive, helpful, and kind customer service. The only reason I didn't give a 5th star is that I wish they had more locations. Still, I have savings, bank and car loan accounts with them with no complaints.”

“Best service and cheerful voices as well.We have been with another Community Bank locally and it lost its hands on customer approach by management. Santa Cruz Bank goes above and beyond from the boss down to the most helpful and friendly bank personnel, especiallyJade. Everyone else too, but she saved the month.”

“10 stars. Chase is a Big Bank so it struggles to maintain that personal banking feeling that customers desire. One branch that is succeeding is the Alvarado St. branch in Monterey. You'd barely know it was there, as it is dwarfed by the Portola Hotel, and almost blends in with the adjacent parking garage. But don't overlook this strategically placed branch nor the helpful folks who work there. Pricilla and her boss the branch manager helped me out of a sticky situation. There is a genuine quality about these folks I think you will appreciate. I sure did. If you see Pricilla at the tellers window tell her the guy who brought her flowers to thank her for her exemplary customer service says "Hi".”

“I need to commend this bank's employees for their service. A care taker for an older lady tried instigating a riot because the only teller was taking too long. The care taker went on and on about how they should bring in more people even after the teller told her the other teller was on lunch. Finally another teller (who they either had to pull from lunch, or telling was not this person's job) shows up. It a Friday after pay day and people are really expecting to spend less than 15 minutes at a bank? What a joke. Realize where you are people, this is a bank not McDonald's.”
