Just a great little jewel”

800 Alvarado Pl, Santa Barbara“Love it here! My fiancé and I recently stayed at El Encanto for New Years Eve and got engaged during our stay. The team at El Encanto ensured that we had the most beautiful proposal ever and set a romantic picnic setup by the serene Lily Pond with gorgeous florals and champagne. After the proposal, we had a family dinner at the PDR in the main restaurant and it was an incredible multi-course meal. Every dish was amazing and they catered to all dietary preferences- highlights were the chestnut soup, hamachi crudo and the chocolate ball dessert at the end of the dinner ?.The service was also impeccable during our entire stay from the valet, to the bellman, front desk, and restaurant team! And last but not least, our room was a gorgeous bungalow suite that resembled a fairy tale cottage- it was so lovely and had incredible amenities like a fireplace and heated bathroom floors. The grounds are so peaceful as well, with unparalleled views of the ocean, mountains and Santa Barbara. ?We both absolutely love El Encanto and will always treasure this special place. We cannot wait to go back! ”

324 W Mason St, Santa Barbara“We recently stayed at this hotel for one night and had an excellent experience. The convenience started with a link for online check-in, which made the process smooth and hassle-free. When we arrived to leave our luggage, the staff at the reception were incredibly friendly and helpful. Noticing we were traveling with a baby, they kindly allowed us to check in earlier than scheduled, which was greatly appreciated.
Throughout our stay, the staff remained consistently helpful and pleasant. The hotel itself is small but ideally located just a five-minute walk from the beach, perfect for a quick getaway. It has been recently renovated, and our room was both spacious and clean.
One standout feature was the availability of drinks and fruit at the reception 24/7, all at no extra charge, along with a welcome drink from a selection of canned beverages.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and accommodating place near the beach.”
“Private oasis. Wonderful grounds. Nice and private getaway. Food and service luxurious. Felt as if we were the only ones on the estate. Make yourself right at home.”

109 Bath St, Santa Barbara“Ben and Flor were absolutely wonderful; they were so nice, helpful, and pleasant. They made this experience an 11/10. The rooms were extremely clean, and the location was amazing. It was very close to the Amtrak. Cookies were also a delicious bonus!”
“So I was a bit nervous about staying at this hotel after reading some of the negative reviews. However, we got a room on the 2nd floor, it was exceptionally nice and quiet, yes the hotel is clearly an ex-motel, and yes I can see how on a ground floor unit if you leave food out, you could have an ant invasion. Contrary to some reviews the pool and Jacuzzi were perfectly clean, the inner court yard garden is absolutely beautifully maintained. We were greeted by Aaron, who is mentioned in other posts, and I confirm, that this gentleman does an outstanding job presenting the hotel, its services and amenities provided. Certainly our stay was very pleasant. I recommend staying here.”
“A hidden gem of a B&B
So let’s talk about hospitality: we travel extensively by car and prefer to stay in small individually owned properties as often as possible. We were in Santa Barbara for a family event and stayed with Dominique at her charming inn. Dominique and her staff (Cassidy and Letitia) go above and beyond to make their guests’ stays as comfortable as possible. Always charming and accessible, the Secret Garden Inn and Cottages was one of the best places we’ve stayed. It is abundantly clear that hospitality is at the top of their list! Breakfast is amazing: Dominique and staff went out of their way to make a delicious breakfast that catered to our individual dietary needs. The inn’s location is perfect. Dominique’s lunch recommendation was spot on and we could walk to Derf’s Cafe. We stayed in Wood Thrush, a charming cottage with a king bed. The cottage was well appointed and we had a hot tub on the enclosed front porch - perfect after a long day! We will definitely be back to stay at the Secret Garden when next we visit Santa Barbara!
Rooms: Our lovely cottage was small, very comfortable and well appointed. And the hot tub was a big plus!
Walkability: McConnell’s Ice Cream, Derf Cafe and The Daily Grind coffee just 2 blocks away!
Noteworthy details: Exceptional hospitality and beautiful garden setting”
“Ahh, Santa Barbara. What an amazing location on the California Coast! This hotel is perfect...stay, wander and come back, eat here, workout in the new fitness center adjacent to the pool...I could go on and on. The food is great, The drinks are great and the rooms are SPOTLESS! Our room had 160 degree views of the waterfront and the the weather is always nice. The price might knee jerk you but you can see the quality. Valet is $27 and necessary. Enjoy!
Rooms: VERY clean and architecturally wonderful. Get the King bed with a view!~
Nearby activities: Everything water and shopping.
Walkability: You are on the beach walkway...go for miles or to State Street and shop. The pier is near
Food & drinks: One of the best menus I've seen. The food is great! The restaurant owner was sitting next to us as a drop in QC. Nice”

206 Castillo St, Santa Barbara“We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here! Room was clean, excellent shower, comfortable bed and pillows, AC…all the basics you need. The continental ‘plus’ breakfast was perfect to get you going for a day in SB and we enjoyed the tranquil dining area both mornings! Pool was perfect for a dip in the late afternoon sun. But the best part about it all was Lee at reception! She’s a wealth of knowledge for day activities and places for food/drink in town and brought a very light hearted/easy going attitude which really helped us maximize our stay. Would recommend! Two cons: some street noise as you’re right on the boulevard and the rooms are small.”

915 Garden St, Santa Barbara“No real ameneties (restaurant/bar), location is beautiful but a walk to town. Had an in room massage (which is contracted out and a little awkward setting up) and the entire time the crew was using a leaf blower outside my room. Understand grounds work have to happen, but as one of the only occupied rooms that day it was bummer. Also booked with a late checkout request and was denied the morning of checkout. When booking, dont forget the resort fees/tourism and local taxes that end up being 100.00 extra per night. There are more affordable, updated places to stay in town.”

306 W Cabrillo Blvd, Santa Barbara“A cute very-Santa-Barbara hotel, right next to the marina, across the street from the beach. One block away from State street, a long walk to the theaters and shopping (1.5 miles) Rooms are clean and modernized, but small, with that beachy kinda smell. Staff is pleasant and helpful. The highlight was the pool and hottub; never have I seen such clean, clear water and the temperature perfect for a hot soak and a cool plunge. Easily would stay here again.”
“Perfect. Quiet, not far from the center and not expensive.
Rooms: Very good, but we had to upgrade to apartment.
Walkability: Not far from the center”

18 Bath St, Santa Barbara“This is our go-to hotel when we decide to come up & stay in SB. Parking is never a hassle, it’s right by the beach, just around the corner from Chad’s, & the price is always fair.
The staff is always super nice, accommodating, & just genuinely fantastic. We stayed last weekend & Dan was exceptional & even kind enough to fix us up a plate of cheese, crackers, & wine (because we arrived just after the wine & cheese hour had ended). He even brought it up to our room! :,)
The rooms are cute & clean. We’ve stayed in the queen, 2 bedroom suite with friends, & most recently, the king. The queen is great for 2 people & it just a bathroom, small closet, & bed. The king rooms are more spacious & also have a bigger bathroom/vanity, mini kitchenette with a mini fridge, sink, & if I remember correctly a
microwave, & a larger closet. The 2 bedroom suite is great to stay in w friends or families traveling with children. It has a much larger kitchen & full sized fridge, 2 bathrooms, living area, 2 beds, & plenty of closet space.
If you’re ever looking for a place to stay in SB that’s a great price, in a fantastic area, with exceptional service then I definitely recommend CDMI. :-)
Walkability: It’s right across the street from the beach, just around the corner from Chad’s (great bfast/brunch!)”

533 State St, Santa Barbara“The hotel is in a perfect location if you are trying to spend most of your time on state street. Be mindful that since you are in a busy area you can hear the bars from the third floor. The hotel has deals with a lot of local businesses for instance we got free coffees and chocolate croissant compt at Helena Bakery down the street! There are no amenities besides the gym. And there is only valet parking. We parked in the neighborhood behind the hotel for free. We enjoyed our stay and it was exactly what we were looking for. The one elevator is slow.
Walkability: Walkable to anywhere on state street.
Noteworthy details: A bit over priced for what you get. You are paying for the location.”

102 W Cabrillo Blvd, Santa Barbara“Booked last minute, so happy we chose this motel. Dog friendly. Clean room, comfortable beds, bathroom was also clean. Cozy room, we had our own private patio for the night and could see the pier and beach from the patio. Each room seems to be different which adds to the fun experience. Loved the individuality of the motel. The lady at the front counter who checked us in was super kind and helpful, too. Would definitely stay here again!”
“private room with an ocean view, waves breaking on the shore just yards away. fantastic food and service, best place to stay and enjoy the day and night. 5 star food and service, love, love this hotel!!!”

While the room was small, the bed is extremely comfortable and the toiletries are all Dove brand (which is curltryfree and we love). The wifi didn't work the first few days but the last night it worked perfectly. The hotel is beautiful, super modern and cool. It is 2 blocks from the beach.”

5606 Carpinteria Ave, Carpinteria“Booked a last minute trip to Santa Barbara on Jan 14 and we wanted to take our dog with us. I decided to use my points to cover the stay and pet fee was only $20. Location was perfect not too far from Santa Barbara, complimentary breakfast, coffee and tea in the lounge, but the best part was the free Tesla charging. We informed them ahead of time we were bringing a pet and they gave us a room close to the side entrance so taking our dog out to potty was super convenient. Room was a little outdated but good for what we needed.”
“We went to SB Easter weekend to celebrate our son's birthday (4/1). We came from the valley & didn't have any reservations made. We found Oasis inn & suites & booked 2 king rooms. The rooms were just perfect. Clean. This is not a fancy hotel. No breakfast provided. Parking was good too. We parked my car around the back where we could see it from our room. The staff was very helpful since we've never been to the area before.”

420 W Montecito St, Santa Barbara“Hideaway is a fantastic stay and everything I want in a hotel. Greeted with cookies and champagne and great made to order breakfast every morning! This is more than a hotel. The rooms have been very nicely renovated with every detail in mind, down to perfect light temperature including dimmers! In a time when hotels seem to be removing amenities, Hideaway has all you could want and more. The location is super close to the best beach and the heart of downtown.”
“Everything here exceeded our expectations, from the call for reservations ( we called the front desk instead of the 800 number since we had several questions, and the I believe manager was absolutely wonderful), to checking out , and everything in between. The grounds were incredibly well kept, rooms were spotless, all staff said hello with a smile, no matter where they encountered you, pool was clean as was the area around it. For the price, I was not expecting it to be nearly as great as it is.”

12 E Montecito St, Santa Barbara“I had a really great time here. Check in was really smooth and I enjoyed the welcome cocktail. The staff were super nice and the rooms, although small were really comfortable.”
“This is No-Frills lodging, now that's not necessary a bad thing. You can pay $200 $300 or even $400 bucks a night at some of the high end hotels here in Santa Barbara or you can pay $150 bucks a night staying here, And spend your hard earned money on other things like great dining at any of the enormous restaurants or the pub walk on State street ? or down at the beachfront on souvenirs. Think about it, your hotel room is just somewhere to sleep so spend your money on having a good time and spoil yourself, Remember you're on vacation.
The rooms are good sized and very clean and well maintained the staff is friendly and helpful ? this place is centrally located and far enough away from the tourist traps and crowds. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.”
“Small but curated selection of items. Was really a fantastic experience because of Chandler, the woman tending to the shop, who was extremely warm, friendly, and helpful.”
