Everyone’s nice here, and I appreciate that. I only shop here because they have curbside pickup. But, for the second time now, I’ve received expired meat. I’m totally turned off and will probably buy all of my meat from Stater Bros moving forward. Bummer.

Best Vons in the business! Ms. Delaney and her staff are the best! So courteous, kind and helpful to their shoppers! The customer appreciation weekend was also awesome!

Update 5/6/24: Overall a good experience. A quick trip in to pick up a few items; dry roasted peanuts; popcorn; smoked salmon and a loaf of wheat bread. I quickly located all the items with the help of the Vons app. Check out was fairly quick.
Update 2/23/22: Not as good an experience -
four stars to three stars :
Used the app and sms to notify Vons when we left and when we arrived. Provided parking spot number and waited 10 minutes. A Vons employee (young woman) walked by and asked if I was waiting for pickup. I answered yes and gave her my last name - she replied with my first name and said my order was ready and she would bring it right out. After 5 minutes of waiting in the cold wind I decided to get back in the car. About 5 minutes later she came to our car, apologized for the delay 'because she was by herself', asked if we needed help loading. We declined.
A Decent Pick Up Experience!
We haven't shopped at Vons for several years. Having moved into the area recently, Vons is the nearest large grocery stores with an decent App and the options to order for Delivery or Pick Up.
We found the App to be decent, if a little different from which we are used.
After adding our items to the Cart we started the checkout process. We are used to picking a one hour time slot for the pick up, however, with Vons you pick a day, it shows the earliest pick up time per day, and confirm your order. After your order is ready you have all day (we had 'til 8pm) to pick up. You can use the App to inform them you are on your way, estimated arrival, when you have arrived, identify your vehicle and parking spot. You should be provided an ID# on your phone to show them when arrive for contactless confirmation.
Before your order is ready you should be contacted about substitutions if items in your order are not available. You have the option to select one of their substitutes or drop the item(s).
This review has four stars because there were a number of items that were not available and I feel the process should have so many items that can be put in the cart only to turn out to be out of stock.

Had a pretty bad experience today with a shorter hispanic cashier apparently she didn’t know how to do her job. The app for the deals wasn’t working and she proceeded to tell me we were on our own and that she couldn’t honor the deals because she claims to have told us to do it before coming to the store? (I’ve never been to this store nor will I be returning) So I told her to put everything back because I no longer wanted it. She then decided to offers to help us get the deals because she knew she was going to have to put everything back. She then decided it would be a good idea to have a shouting match with me across the store. This all could’ve been avoided if she just did her job and wasn’t being lazy. She could’ve called a manager over or asked someone else about the app being down or found out if it was having other difficulties but instead made it seem like it was our fault. I felt bad for the bagger because even he looked at his co-worker like she was doing something out of pocket. The manager was just watching instead of intervening or de-escalating the situation. Crazy because I was buying $300+ worth of groceries.
