My personal Experience with Hertz was actually very good despite the overwhelming and unwarranted negative reviews that you see online. My Hertz representative was Celina and she did everything she could to get me a rental car 15min before closing. She was successful and I appreciate her hard work. Did I have to wait my turn in line? of course. Was that a problem? Not at all. Unfortunately most people these days lack patience and humility. The moment an entitled customer doesn't get their way they throw a fit like a childand then get on the internet and leave a ridiculously back review. To all the adults acting like entitled children, grow the hell up! You're embarrassing yourself. To whoever reads this, if you need a rental car you can never go wrong with Celina at Hertz Manteca or Peter if your by the Santa Clara location.

If I could give 0 stars I would . I made reservations 24 hrs in advance and when I got there they didn't have my car available. I asked for them to call n see if they did at another location n they said they can't. They made zero attempt to resolve the issue now im left without a car

This place is a ripoff. Made reservation for economical car. About 1 hour before pickup I get a call saying they cannot rent me the economical car but will rent me a different one. When I arrived. At their office there was a Latino woman at the counter. I watched as she drove off in what I thought was my economic car an I was stuck with an xfinity which cost alot more than $150.00. My daughter advised me later that the price should have remained the same. Their business practices suck. If I had the time and energy I would look into filing a class action lawsuit on behalf of myself and all those that have been ripped off by them. Or maybe have Kurtis Ming at chann 5 news look into it.Dont rent from them. GO TO ENTERPRISE ON main.

Rented a vehicle for a road trip via online. the only vehicle they had was a Chevy volt electric. Assuming it was a dual fuel, because we all know that these vehicles take at the minimum one hour to charge and 4 hours if hooked up at home ( if you have the right set up). called back 30 minutes after realizing no electric charging stations were near by that were operational. The branch manager said " I told you it was electric" well " I told you I was going on a road trip". No enthusiasm or eagerness to help, only a whole bunch of attitude. I could have just taken out own dual fuel volt in this case. This was the worst experience and waste of time and money. Adding an hour to our trip to charge.

Awful. Car had a swollen battery that died and locked me out once I arrived to my hotel. Spare key in the fob was a blank. Couldn’t get my belongings out for 2 hours. Then car was towed with a full tank of gas on a Saturday. Had to wait til Monday and uber 45min to get replacement car. Once I returned the rental they wanted to charge me for gas even tho the first vehicle had a full tank. Manager only offered me $50 voucher AFTER I was told to go fill the tank. I only hope corporate reads these reviews

They had almost no car options which now that I’ve read the reviews seems to be a common trope. We wanted a subtle gas sedan and all they had were teslas. They thought we prepaid and had us call an 800 number to switch the credit card and before I could get ahold of anyone they changed their mind and were magically able to switch it manually. The paperwork says the car was at a full charge but we got it at 55%. So we are going to have to charge it to full to bring it back even though we got it at half that. Seems unorganized and dishonest.

Worst customer service ever. 1st, I didn't get what I had made the reservation for. The car that I did get was reeking of smoke. Yazmin (manager/supervisor) said that they cleaned the car and there was no other options. Reluctantly, I took the car and once I started driving and turned on the vents, it got worse. When I called back, she pretty much said that I would have to pay the full cost since I drove of the car. When I asked her her supervisor, she hung up. There was no attempt made to figure out a solution or even listening to my concern. As I am reading some of the reviews here, I don't understand how this location is still open.

This might be a bit long, here goes...I reserved a medium sedan online and was aware that I would receive the car in the email or similar. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle I was told it would be an electric car, now I've never dealt with electric vehicles and was traveling to LA, so I didn't have any charging station locations planned on my route/ I don't even know where to find them lol. I personally think gas and electric vehicles should be kept separate when making reservations.Anyhow. I asked for a gas vehicle upgrade and they had two SUV's, I went with the smaller of the two, the Ford Edge. The vehicle upgrade cost was just a little bit higher but absolutely worth it. It was a very comfortable ride. Also the customer service was excellent. I think my Hertz representative was Celina? She was great and made the whole transaction smooth and stress free. I am very thankful for your service!

This place is ridiculous. I had a last minute rental pick up and when I showed up there was a sign that stated 2:25 pm - 3:25 pm out for lunch. I arrived at the Hertz at 2:15 pm. Someone at this Hertz is milking the time and making there own hours. The gentleman at the service shop said they usually advise them when they leave and this time they didn’t. I really hope management sees this. I now have to Uber back to my job.

I had followed the guidance and recommendations of the associate that helped me with the pick up.Which on its own was a nuisance but an overall positive experience because they were unable to help me for 20 minutes as they were not ready when I entered (There were no other customers and three employees sitting and chatting about the weekend) when they were able to help me there was no car ready (10 minutes later). When a car was ready for me we discovered it had a flat tire 20-30 minutes later a second car was ready.Despite all this the associate was professional and answered all my questions and walked me though what was expected of me at drop off and apologized for the delays and double checked the second car to make sure that I would have no issues.The issue that broke my patience was the drop off process. The associate that helped me was petty of the condition of the vehicle picking it apart and explicitly told me that it was my fault I chose not to pay for the provided insurance as well as that it needed to be washed. (The vehicle had a thin layer of dust on the roof and tailgate).The associate was rude to me and my wife, petty, and most important of all was unable to answer my questions or hold a conversation about why the vehicle condition was not acceptable.The associate also ignored me when I asked for her name or to speak with the orginal person I had dealt with when picking up the car.This encounter has made me hesitant to ever book with hertz again and I have already told my close family to stay away.Now I tell all of you who read this to the end to stay away as well.

Celina was dishonest and with poor customer service. We originally reserved a small car for 29 days then when we saw it we didn’t like it and Celina said that she has a large sedan and showed it to us for a $20 extra/day. I informed her that have a corporate discount and I could get the large sedan for less and no need to pay the extra $400 on top of $800. Then she refused to give it to us and said oh no that vehicle is reserved for someone else at 4:30PM. It was 4:25PM so I said I’ll wait and if that person doesn’t show up then I want it. She kept refusing and said if sorry I’m closing now and I’m not giving you the vehicle for that price and that she had no other vehicle. I have never encountered such a horrible customer service. We ended up voiding the whole thing and giving our business to another company.

Reserved car more than a week ago, after reaching there to pickup car, lady informed that she had all cars went for oil change and she would call back. Never received call back, end up rushing for another reservation in different place. Plan for backup arrangements if you are renting from here.

Checked in quickly and pleasantly. Was told will bring car right out. After waiting at least 10 minutes I went back into the office and a different lady argued that I had not been waiting that long and made excuses for how long it was taking. Zero concern or empathy.

(HORRIBLE PLACE)poor customer service. Had a pick up reservation on Friday 4/21/23@ 2:30pm for a full size vehicle. At 2pmI got a phone call stating there’s no cars available. This reservation was book 4 days in advance. I definitely recommend a different company for your rental needs. If I could give zero star’s I definitely would.

If you enjoy rude behavior and poor customer service this the place for you! The attitude of the staff is that they are the only car rental available and if they choose to change the rental rate from $23 a day to over $100 they can.Please avoid this business until they get a chance to find people who can actually work with the public
