We are staying in Manhattan Beach for a month and looked for a local butcher. Found Manhattan Meats and stopped by. It’s a combo meat market (you pay for your meat purchases at the meat counter) and a small market, so very convenient. I picked up their housemade sausage and we were very impressed, fresh and very well made and seasoned. Their steaks and 1/2 pound burgers looked amazing, as well as their fish selection. They also had natural chicken, rotisserie chicken and seasoned kebabs. Love the old-fashioned customer service.

I've been a life-long Manhattan Beach resident, coming here from the beginning. We're lucky to have a butcher of this quality.That means big money these days, but the quality of their meat and seafood (from Santa Monica Seafood) is the best.Try their homemade tamales, baked beans too. Also, the freshest ground Turkey you can get. The service is also grade A. You'll have fun shopping!

I've been shopping at and eating Manhattan products for years. I'm finally getting around to writing a review haha. First off, you cannot find better ground Chuck or Ground sirloin any where else. I didn't think their Chicken could get much better but recently they started carrying a free range organic chicken breast and it is so delicious and tender. Of course they have staple products like the teriyaki skirt steak and bacon burger, but they also carry lesser known products like hangar steaks and flat iron steaks. I cannot recommend them enough!!! If you're local and haven't been or are in the area on vacation you should definitely check them out!

SERIOUS HEALTH HAZARD/CONCERNS-Complete negligence of basic hygiene practices summarizes what I saw during my visit to this establishment. As I walked in I saw an employee feeding a customer's dog directly in the mouth while wearing a blue glove in the hand that was feeding the dog with an open palm and there was obvious contact between the glove and the animal's mouth. He then walked behind the counter, washed the gloved hand (with the glove still on), dried it with a cloth towel and proceeded to help the next customer with that same glove-grabbing meats and selling them to the customer. I asked another one of the guys working if I could ask a few questions and he said he was the owner, which was perfect. When I asked him about the situation and if he had an issue with it he started off by volunteering "I know we're not supposed to have dogs in here but.." and then **shrugged** then avoided answering the question by asking me what would be the difference between a person feeding a dog with their hand and then washing it versus doin so with a gloved hand. He said he WOULD have a problem if the employee had not washed his hand, which was comically silly to even have to say that but gives a good idea about where their standards are. I had to feed him the answer that someone working in the food industry should not be having contact with an animal while handling food. He then said he could ask the employee to change his glove if I wanted him to-so not something he saw a need for as the owner of the establishment. I cannot imagine that this could possibly be in compliance with even the most minimal hygiene standards from any Health Department and it was amusingly shocking to get that response by the owner. I know all food items in the food industry are far from sterile but this is insanely below basic standards.

12/10 service. I'm very picky about where I get my meat from, and let me tell you this hidden gem in the heart of downtown Manhattan Beach puts many other businesses to shame. The workers are always polite and attentive to my very precise request. The ambiance gives you that "welcome to our home" feel. The products are always fresh. They put quality over quantity. I definitely like that they are more than willing to tell you how to best prepare whatever you select . This place is great. Hopefully they expand so there's one closer to me but trust, I'm more than willing to drive very far for Manhattan Meats!

Was in the area for lunch and decided to stop in and see what they had, while the selection was OK, there are other full service butchers in the area at the same or lower price points, being that it is downtown Manhattan Beach parking can be problematic, when places like whole foods, Bristol farms or Lazy Acres have better selections and are around the same price point it's much more convenient to go to one of the aforementioned markets with ample parking and better selections.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! My wife, kids and I were leaving for our noon road trip up north and we ordered a Club and Roast beef sandwich to go. We had not eaten that day, and ate the sandwiches on the road. We were fine until 11 pm in bed when I woke up a hurled violently what what’s in my stomach. I didn’t stop there, this went on all throughout the wee hours of the night! Both orally and otherwise! And for my wife as well!! Never will I order anything from this place again!

The steaks here are fresh and tender upon cooking and the first bite brings about the profile of a high-end steakhouse. I'd recommend coming here for your butcher needs.

We love Manhattan Meats! Great quality meats and seafood. We have been regulars for years. The guys know what they are doing and you can always ask for a recipe for any new to you item-they give you good suggestions. Highly suggest this place!

One staff member I had to deal with was SUPER rude. When asked a simple question they were completely unhelpful and insulting. Never will I come back. I try to support local businesses however if they don’t know how to treat customers then they only have themselves to blame when they don’t survive.
