Safeway is my favorite grocery store to go to. The produce is always good. And the rewards card savings are pretty fair as well. Except for one thing, it's not just Safeway, but good God! The prices beef are just ridiculous. I only have a once in awhile, I'm not going to have a porterhouse for what used to be the price of fillet, something like $20 a pound! I didn't even look at the price of the fillet Mignon I probably would have had a heart attack. One thing I'd like to improve is there bare bones stock of instant coffees often out of some brands. He's a certain type of specialty coffees a significant once in a while I don't have time to make coffee, and I would like a decent instant. But they're often out of it.

Clerks were busy having a lovely conversation while checking me out.... Easy parking. Not so clean restrooms. Otherwise a good place to shop and they had several items on sale that I was happy to find

Spacious, clean. But couldn't have more shopping options (Good & Gather fully cooker Chicken, Tikka masala , Dave's killer bread was missing) Good parking space.

While shopping around, I seen a kid who I have talked to before at checkout, who is clearly underage and if I recall correctly, said he goes to Westmont High School. He was using a heat gun and having to pull this rubbery material off of the freezers with his bare hands. What looked to be a supervisor seemed like she was demonstrating how to remove it, and shortly after she left, I saw the kid quickly pull back his hand and was clearly in pain. The supervisor demonstrating it for the kid had no protective equipment on, and didn't even offer the poor kid any protection, not even safety gloves for the heat. The heat gun seemed to be a very powerful, industrial heat gun, there is no way that it should be being used without any protective equipment. I couldn't believe what I saw, I don't think I will be shopping here anymore if this is the way that people are treated.

The store is nice, huge selection of fruits and vegetables. Everything looked fresh and very organized. I wasn't to thrilled with the employees. I get this at alot of stores. Ppl stero type me and its annoying. When I shop, I never no what I want, so maybe I do look sketch because I confused. Anyways, the plain clothes employee they sent to follow me was annoying. Just being honest.

This store was blanketed with a heavy, unmoving odor of something burnt but machinery breaks, no big deal. Flies in the refrigerators add to the dismal feel of this store, but parking was easy, the groceries were good & the cashier was very nice. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again & if not for the flies I wouldn't avoid it, it's just okay.

If you’re buy produce here then read this.An employee, who has been working here for a long time told me that all the produce is soaked in a chemical solution with water for at least a few minutes to make it crispy, organic and non organic. On the chemical it says “Not approved by the FDA” and Safeway produce employees are told it’s just “chlorine”. If you pick up produce and it’s trimmed avoid buying it here or anywhere else because it’s soaked in that solution to keep it looking fresh even if it’s weeks old. What’s the point of paying double the price of organic if it’s crisped by unknown solution not even approved by the FDA.

It was good. Well stocked in a lot of areas. Very organized in how you go in and out of the store as well as check out. Nice staff.
