Been coming here for years and nearly always leave feeling stressed and unhappy shopping here. Not big so selection is poor. Prices are LG high for a lot of the same stuff. Frequently abysmal produce; IMO the consistently worst produce department in the western half of the valley, and with higher prices than Nob Hill, Sprouts, or other Safeways. Staff just hangs out at front and never makes themselves available to help customers, and they're usually so swamped by long checkout lines you feel like a jerk asking. Cashiers are nice until you hint they're anything less than perfect, then they get testy; this Safeway thinks they're some classy place above criticism because of their LG address but they're actually the worst Safeway in the area, and Safeway ain't anything special so get over yourselves. Been coming here as a resident off and on for twenty years and been doordashing out of here recently and I find this place endlessly frustrating to find what I need and/or get any help from the staff; customers are to fend for themselves, staff are to never walk more than 5 feet from their cash registers. Their information desk where you buy lotto tix/western union/etc. is ALWAYS closed and there's no bell or any way to get help there. Consistently one of the most frustrating grocery store experiences I've had anywhere, and I've been to plenty of other grocery stores...I know what good prices, selection, and service are!! Better than the staff here who are used to a basically non-existent level of customer service. This place desperately needs self-checkout stands and for their staff to get unchained from their cash registers; I ring up my own groceries faster than they do and bag them better than they do anyway. The problem is how badly organized and stocked their store is, and how nobody is available to help customers. Give customers plenty of self-checkout stands and get most of the staff away from the registers and into the store!UPDATE: I think some people here got a talking to because the pleasantness and helpfulness has improved noticeably. It's still a frustratingly small store with higher prices, hit or miss produce, and needs some self-checkout and a staff member on the floor when it's busy, but at least the staff at the registers are more consistently helpful. 2.5 to 3 stars.

Be wary of false advertising at this Safeway. They have numerous price tags for “digital deals” and on a recent trip it seemed that the majority don’t work. We ended up not receiving any of the discounts when going through self checkout.

The pick up guy who did the pickup order asked why I purchased so much milk online. The pick up guy was really curious. That is an invasion of privacy. You should never question customers. I want to report this to corporate.

Price tag, app price, register price were all different for one item. Another Safeway had the right price.Safeway sold invalid Apple gift cards to me.

As I was buying balloons, the cashier offered to scan my other items (ice, etc). Then I found myself stuck at the exit, with my cart locked up and beeping, and the whole store staring at me. I told the other cashier to inform the balloon cashier this would happen, so other people in the future didn't have to go through the same. She just kept saying "you are fine" and didn't seem to understand my point. Terrible service all around.

Small Safeway with a good selection. They have what I need about 90% of the time. The lines however can be long. I’ve found early morning or mid afternoon to be good times to avoid a crowd.

I love the Fridays $5 specials at Safeway Supermarket also their fresh meats prices sometimes I could buy chicken quarters at 69cents per pound and pork chops at 99 centsper pound or hamburger meat at $1.99 per pound just good for a tight budget in times of inflation and job layoffs in Silicon Valley.

Awesome service in the meat deli department! Grateful to Joseph for going above and beyond to help me clean and prep dinner and doing it with a smile. This feels like only the kind of service you get from a friendly neighborhood store! We are so lucky to have folks like this making this a great and pleasant place to shop!

I love Safeway and have visited many Safeway locations. I was happy with the friendly staff and quality products at most other locations. Unfortunately, my experience with this location at 1500 Pollard Rd (Los Gatos) most locations has been consistently bad. Almost all the employees were unfriendly to the point of being rude. This would have been fine with me as long as I can find quality products. But their produce and grocery items are not fresh and you often find items out-of-stock when their online inventory clearly shows they have it at this location. The Safeway at 470 N Santa Cruz Ave is MUCH better in comparison. Or drive a bit further to nearby Trader Joe's, Nob Hill or even the Grocery Outlet at 100 San Tomas Aquino Rd, Campbell.

Safeway is my favorite grocery store. This one is next to a CVS and it would give a lot of convenience to the customers if there was a pharmacy available inside it.This branch is on the smaller side but still clean and friendly associates.

Great smaller Safeway store. It’s a good place to run in and get exactly what you need. Usually, it’s very well stocked. It’s a clean store and people there are nice and friendly and will help you find whatever you need.

Their water machine is down. OK it's not operated by Safeway but then who is policing the company who Safeway allows to put a water machine outside their stores? 3 out of 4 water refill machines are down at local Safeways. Someone needs to do their part. Not delivering.
