I have always liked Lark Avenue Classic Car Wash. I went to drive thru car wash end of September. I was told they had a special 4 washes for $12.99. I said okay. Little did I know they sneaked a monthly auto renewal on my CC for $29.99. I called the business office and canceled this charge. I was told I would receive a credit. I did not get the credit and also see that auto charge is coming up for October 30. I filed a dispute with my CC company. I also left a scathing message on their business office voicemail.

Used to go here all the time. Rarely now, with a regular car wash being $55. However, my car was filthy after a road trip and I agreed to the $129 wash with waxing, extra interior cleaning etc. The push to upgrade to a monthly membership was STRONG, just repeated attempts by the guy that was checking my car in.When I was in the waiting area I heard a woman asking the clerk about her membership, why she was being charged what she was for that day's wash, how many washes she had left. The clerk basically said "I have no way to answer any of those questions and here's a phone number." As I continued to wait I read so many Google reviews talking about their difficulties with the monthly membership, how hard it is to cancel, etc. Then as I continued to wait a guy asked me if I wanted to upgrade even further for a "clay bar" treatment. Something about my paint needing it. It was another $169. When I said no he said he could give me a discount. No thank you. More upselling even as they're working on your car.Everyone was nice and my car looked pretty good, but the huge increase in prices for a "regular" car wash and the intense upselling push really make me not want to return.

Ooh ooh... At the car wash...I have mixed feelings about Classic Car Wash. The folks manning the vacuums, towels and details here work so hard, and the quality of the service here is pretty good, in my opinion. Plus there's no other high volume full service wash alternative within miles. So thank you to Classic for serving our community. I always tip and the guys do seem to appreciate seeing the happy face stamps on the receipt when I reclaim my car. But wow - what bothers me most is the hard sell. I usually just do the exterior line but especially when I opt for the full service, I have to play a lot of defense. No, I don't want a monthly exterior wash fast pass. I tried that on my prior car and didn't use it enough. And it was tough to cancel. No thank you, no full detail today. No thanks, I don't want to do the clay bar - I know you say I need it. Nope, I don't have time right now for a spa treatment hand wax - just the wash today. Oh, you'll have me out of here in only 25 minutes? Despite the optimism, I can't risk the time running long again. No, I'm good, I don't need the special headlights de-oxidation and restoration treatment at this moment. I keep expecting them to offer to massage the seats, deep tissue treat the trunk, cover the headlights with sliced cucumbers and wrap the body of the car in seaweed, which may or may not do wonders for the paint. I do also miss the hot apple cider they stopped serving during the pandemic in the office across from the cashier. That was something i did look forward to and at least a few times it probably led to a wash. And lastly, I can't believe how much they've raised their prices. I remember when the exterior-only wash was maybe $12 and the full service washes started around $20. Yesterday my bottom of the line full service wash ("The Deal") was $49.99 - and that was after I talked the guy down from $55 by losing the carnauba wax spray and something else - I didn't even catch what it was. Ouch.

Worst car wash you would ever see in Bay area! Dont waste your money here. It is worse than the automated car wash you had seen in chevron and other gas stations yet twice as expensive as others. Not a value for money and poor wash as well.

Honestly one of the worst car washes I've ever dealt with. When I got there I wanted a interior cleaning and exterior wash. After 15 minutes of the service manager try to convince me to spend $160 on different things. I finally got him to just go with what I asked for and I could have paid eight dollars to go through the gas station car wash, and get the same outcome. The car still has bugs spots, and splotches everywhere.

Customers who signed up for 29.99 exterior washes need to watch their bill. They are now automatically charging your credit card 34.99 without any notice. I don't know how that is legal.

Even though your car might get a few small scratches every once in a while, and their sales people might tell you the incorrect prices when you sign up for their unlimited car wash package, it's worth it and I'd recommend it, especially for people who like their car clean and/or use their car for work. I think they've earned 5 stars!

Do not come here. The car wash severely damaged the hood of my car and scratched the paint down to the metal. The monthly subscription is basically a scam unless you want to risk significant cosmetic damage to your vehicle every month.

I had not been to this car wash in awhile. I went to get my car washed, and the inside cleaned and one of those quickie waxes (the carbanudo wax I think its called). I recall that I used to pay $24 something for all of that. But now it cost $49!I was like wow, that is almost double what I remember paying not too long ago. CRAZY!Well I went ahead and paid for the service all the while the first guy that I met with was trying to shove other services down my throat. I said, "NO" just the "Ultimate" is all I want. But they must send signals to other guys to then "work on you" yeah us customers by then trying to see what other items they can get you to pay for. This after I had already been firm that that's all I wanted. So then some older guy comes towards me asking if I'm the one with the Ford Taurus and I say, "Yes" and I get worried like as though he's going to tell me they damaged my car or something because I never saw it come out the other side of the wash, and he goes on to explain that he feels he had to tell me that my head lamps really need a good cleaning and only can be restored by sanding them down to remove the gunk! I ask him "how much" and "how long" is this going to take. He tells me $99 for 20 minutes of his time. I'm like, Woah that's a lot of money for only 20 minutes of your time!!! I worked in the dot com industry and I made good money but not even that much per hour! That is crazy!!! I told him I'm on a retired income and that's a heck of a lot of money. He said he could give me a $10 discount. I just laughed and said is that all! He went on working on me by telling me how bad the head lamps are and that if I wanted better vision at night then these should be fixed (cleaned up). I went to look at them and finally gave in and agreed. Initially he rang my ticket for the $99 and I reminded him that he offered me the $10 discount. He grumbled something and then wrote on the ticket $89. I went to pay it. Then while waiting for my head lamps to be restored "back to new" as I was informed they would be, this other guy from the car wash then approaches me about this little nick on my window and tried to then sell me on $100 to repair that tiny bubble nick that he claimed could burst and then I'd have a bad window. I told him flat out "NO" that I had car insurance coverage that would cover that. He grumbled something like, "well I'm just trying to be helpful". I looked at my car after they were done with the head lamps and again so sloppy work. With this goopy stuff they hadn't cleaned up and had to tell them for the price I just paid they left a mess. I wasn't happy about that and the fact they still hadn't taken care of a couple other things they had promised to take care of. Bottom line is I think they must be told to work on people to try to get more services out of us customers so that the person at the top reaps in "more". I definitely won't be going back there! I don't care for how they raped me over these high costs of their time. Only high level VP's make $100 an hour and some not even that...so for a car wash person to say it will cost $99 for 20 minutes of their time to polish & sand off the scum off your head lamp they are scamming their customers! If I could go back in time I never would have had it done. It's funny because while standing there waiting on my car I watched as the same guy that had pulled this on me started to do the same act on this elderly lady but she said firmly that her son was going to take care of it for her. One more thing I want to bring to light is that I noticed when I got rang up first for the wax and wash on my ticket the clerk asked if I wanted to include a tip and if so for how much. I had her add a tip of $5. However when I saw my ticket I noted that she had put the tip ahead of the subtotal and then applied the interest charge to that subtotal. So in other words she is applying interest

This is a scam where they make you sign up for a subscription service and then make it exceedingly difficult to cancel. You have to call the phone number they provide, as they can't cancel it from their car wash locations, but they'll never answer the phone. How convenient! If you signed up, all I can say is: good luck.

I have been going here since the 90's. The quality is good as are the people. I am giving a one star review to the monthly drive thru wash program - Fast Pass. This is totally misrepresented by the sales people and unless you get your car washed more than once a month, a rip off. First time i tried it the salesman told me i could get any car washed (we have three). When i was checking out i confirmed the terms with the cashier, but she told me it was limited to the one car. So i was able to cancel before paying- great. Second time they offered a free wash as an incentive, and for a month i could wash any car, and easy to cancel. The free wash was the same as the monthly fee, so why not. I fell for it... it is nearly impossible to cancel. They can't cancel on site after you pay, you have to call, but no one will answer the phone and call backs are hard to get. I threatened to leave a bad review and they finally called me back and told me it was cancelled. They also charged me for the free wash a month later so... some deal. Now my wife calls me and tells about this great deal she got from them. I say it is a monthly fee and a rip off. She says no it is one time. I tell her to check and of course it is the same terrible deal but she already paid so the cashier can't cancel it.Now she has to call to cancel, threaten bad reviews, etc. So i am writing the bad review now - the people selling "Fast Pass" know very little about it, they can't accurately explain it to you. It is a rip off. You can't cancel without threats. Avoid their revenue increase scheme at your expense.Services: Clay bar treatment

First of all, $45 to wash your car is ridiculous. It was $30 a couple of years ago and that was a splurge. The salespeople are relentless, trying to get you to upgrade or to pay by the month instead of the wash. Just give me what I want, thank you. It used to be a pleasant experience but it's not anymore. Worst of all, the car still isn't that clean when they are done. I still have to go over it and wipe away spots that were missed. From now on I'll go to the $8 automatic wash or just wash it myself.

I've been going to all the locations in the area for years, and I'm always happy. I know some others have mentioned they may not get 100% of everything in the interior, but the only time I've gotten that was at a detailer for 3-4x the price. Classic Car Wash is a great value, the best bang for your buck. They do an amazing job that makes sense for the price and is very efficient.I wanted to specifically give this location a review, as there was a kerfuffle with my membership that was canceled a while ago, but I had some leftover washes I could still use since they stacked up. However, my account was on the old system, which was fine the last time, but they must have archived it or something because it wasn't pulling up anywhere (the service providers, the cashier, and when I called corporate). However, Daniel, my service provider, checked with the manager, Amulfu (sp?), to take care of me regardless. I appreciated going above and beyond and being proactive when Daniel saw my frustration while I was on the phone. Additionally, he was training a new hire, Ana, and she seemed nice and courteous as well!I'll keep coming back, for sure :)Services: Vacuuming

I can see why these reviews are low... I would give 1 star but I don't believe in damaging businesses entirely. The main concern is the actual car wash... the customer service when you pull up is great. But it's all about that first guy, waving you forward. THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT JOB IN THE CAR WASHING PROCESS!! And he doesn't do his job.He has a power washer that he's supposed to pre rinse the dirt from the car, but instead sprays your hood a little and then moves on lazily. Not pre rinsing the initial dirt and grime off of cars nearly defeats the whole purpose. I've been through dozens of times, and the person doing that job has never done more then a light spray on the hood, even if I open the window and ask, and even when I tell the people up front. I'll likely just cancel my monthly passes on my cars, but it's a bummer because otherwise it would be the best.

This place was awesome! Pretty busy but quick. They get people in and out. My car was sparkling and Sooo clean. I would definitely go back!
