It’s really one of the best, if not the best antique/vintage hardware stores anywhere! Service has never been an issue, when it's a good day or a bad day for Liz’s employees.

Great hardware. Extremely rude customer service and hazardous area to move around in.

I DIY'ed my front door without thinking things through.. The brand listed a couple retailers and as I called each one, they had turned me down saying they only sold the brand in bulk or flatout made me feel like I was crazy for doing what I did. Robert was the only one who listened and provided solutions to my dilemma.

Great repository of vintage items but get ready to pay exorbitant prices bordering on insanity. They do not offer any installation services. Your on your own to install anything that you purchase here. For their obscene prices, I would have expected installation as part of the experience. Moreover, I tried to sell them some vintage door and cabinet hardware months ago after my own home renovation. Liz herself offered to buy them from me at a tiny fraction of her own prospective, super retail selling price. I respectfully declined her frugal offer and sold them on eBay. The only saving grace here is that Liz's does offer some non-USA manufactured reproduction hardware which are within the realm of affordability. I suggest you venture over to Rick's Hardware in North Hollywood first where it may only cost you several fingers before selling your vital organs at Liz's for a few vintages hinges, door handles, and light sconces.

This place is beyond words. I'll try. You can go to junk collectors shady yards in the valley. You can go to every little vintage shop in echo park. You can get heat stroke at the rose bowl and purchase a broken light from an amateur grifter. Etc. But when you enter LAH you WILL find every beautiful fixture you have dreamed of. No shit. I've shopped a lot of antiques, from Puces de Paris to round top Texas and damn near everything in between and I've never seen a shop with more incredibly curated inventory. If you have an affinity for handmade timeless fixtures that are as much art as they are functional, DO NOT begin you project without visiting LAH. You won't save money, but you will find gems. You're welcome.

Omg... the best place where you actually touch and feel the "stuff" ... how can anyone fix up their house online? Caca... Liz's Hardware is a cornucopia of antique delights... I have completely restored my 1914 craftsman with the help from ... yep you guessed it... Liz's... the staff is highly knowledgeable and friendly... so if want to find something lost in time? Or restored an old piece? This place is for you!

I have shopped here quite a bit having restored two historic homes in LA. I won't be going back though after an incident my daughter told me about. She's in 8th grade and she and her two best friends love all things vintage and like to walk around on La Brea and hit the vintage stores (and they all have money to spend). They're mature and very polite and well behaved and have never had any issues shopping around on La Brea (or Melrose/Larchmont/The Grove) while I wait at a nearby cafe. Well, they walked into Liz's and immediately a man working there yelled at them and just said "NO! No! Get out!" I had her re-tell me this several times because I couldn't believe it. It would have been SO easy for him to just say "Hey guys sorry but we don't allow minors without a parent or guardian." SO easy to just be polite and kind. Instead he treated three really lovely fellow humans as absolute scum just for the transgression of wanting to check out what I used to think was a great shop.
