Our family LOVES Mountain View Parent Nursery School! My 3yo is completing her first year there and adores all of the activities, the songs, the play areas, and especially her teachers and friends. MVPNS invites parents and caregivers to create a sense of community as they volunteer and help shape their children's early experiences with schooling. Tasks on and off campus are flexible to meet busy parent schedules and allow caregivers to give children just enough independence to learn and feel empowered. Last but not least, we love the opportunities for parent education and fun, family events outside of school. We can't wait to come back next year!

We have been at MVPNS for 3 years and it has been the best experience. Our son loves the play based nature of the program and the teachers are the most caring, warm, and supportive around. I have thoroughly enjoyed the parent participation aspect of the co-op too! It is so special to be able to play and collaborate alongside my child. You will not regret enrolling at MVPNS!

Mountain View Parent Nursery School was an easy fit for our family. As a first time mom, I needed a sense of community and to participate in my young child's learning and exploration. We deeply love this play-based school. My son doesn't want to leave when class ends. He now enjoys story time with other kids and sings the school songs at home without prompting. There are many community events organized by the parents and teachers.MVPNS not only provides healthy lessons, values, resources, and an environment for your child but also very importantly for the parents. MVPNS teachers supply real-time guidance and parent education classes. I've learned so many new techniques such as positive discipline that we use on a daily basis that has real long-term effect and results for our child. The teachers are all deeply caring, positive, and patient. I've seen these teachers give their own time and resources. They go above and beyond which I am so grateful for. Teacher Sandra, L.A., and Hatty have developed a special connection with my son and he feels comfortable around them that he detached from me with ease.As with any co-op school, you get what you put in. The more you nurture this community, the more you all grow together. It's been an absolute joy getting to know our classmates' and their parents. We've built friendly connections and shared knowledge with families having different traits and needs. There's something very reassuring to see other parents caring for your child and providing plenty of staffing and coverage for the school. MVPNS has become our extended, chosen village because that's what it takes to raise a child, right?

This is the school of our dreams for our children. My daughter was very attached to me and had a hard time separating to be with anyone else. We joined MVPNS when she turned 2 and she was in Teacher Susan's class. She bonded so much with Teacher Susan that she was completely comfortable when we started doing short separations and eventually when we just dropped her off. There was no pressure to separate, but the teachers and other parents were there to support the process. We'd decided to try another school that would be more of a hands off option when we had our second child, but within two weeks, we decided that we missed MVPNS and we switched back. My daughter is thriving and we absolutely love the staff and having the loving community of parents. We're so happy to see how excited our daughter is after every day and she's made some very close friends. There's nothing that compares to the quality of education, loving community, and amazing (and creative) facilities of MVPNS.

This will be my daughter's 3rd year in the program and we are very lucky we found MVPNS! The teachers are warm, enthusiastic, knowledgeable on child education and really get to know the children and their individual interests. The parents' active involvement in the school has cultivated a loving environment and genuine care for the school. It is a great community to be a part of!

This is our second year at MVPNS and both my kids have had a wonderful experience. Teachers are thoughtful and attentive to each child's needs. I love that children are free to choose their activity through free play, and get to spend lots of time outside. Working at the school has helped me build my parenting skills as I was able to see first hand how teachers (and other parents) guide children, handle conflicts etc. I wholeheartedly recommend the school to other families.

My son has attended MVPNS for 2 years (2's and 3.5-5's classes) and we (and he) absolutely love it. I was initially apprehensive about the amount of parent participation required, but it is quite manageable and it is really an essential part of what makes the community here so wonderful and connected to each other. The kids get a lot of outdoor play and wonderful support from the caring and thoughtful teachers. There is very little teacher turnover, compared to other preschools I've experienced. The school makes a big effort to make everyone feel included and provide a safe environment for the kids.

If you're looking for a parent participation preschool then really you don't have to look any further. If I can give this gem of a school a 10 star I would. My child started in their 2s/3s program and is now in the 3s/4s program. I feel very confident in their curriculum and teachers. My child has thrived since being at MVPNS. Academics are woven into their curriculum in a fun, age appropriate and play-based way. There is something.for every child and every interest. The school does a outstanding job providing the children with a variety of hands on activities at each class (indoor or outdoor). I cannot recommend MVPNS enough. We are grateful for our preschool and plan to send our second child here as well.

This is our second year with MVPNS, and we have been impressed by the school for many reasons. The teachers are knowledgable, and they interact with children in warm, respectful ways. Projects include a delicate sense of the seasons and nature, which is inspiring and thoughtful. Parents work in a class once a week, and they get to see their children's growth. When I am at the school, I feel the warmth, energy, and passion from the wonderful teachers. Children's free play is protected and respected. Also, the school's Covid and food allergy protocols are topnotch. We feel very safe and grateful to send our children to MVPNS.

All three of my kids have attended MVPNS, with my oldest starting seven years ago. My youngest has one year left of preschool and I’m so grateful to have found this wonderful community. The teachers are so thoughtful, respectful of children’s ideas, and dedicated to early childhood education. When I became a stay-at-home-mom with my first one, I was looking for a community of people who were like-minded in their focus on respectful, playful parenting. MVPNS was a perfect fit. My kids and I have made great friends in our years there. It works really well for my family that some days I get to drop the kids off and some days I stay at school with them as the “work parent” where I help with art projects, push kids on the swings, play in the sandbox, etc. I think it’s very important for my children to learn to trust other adults and advocate for themselves in a safe environment before they get to elementary school. MVPNS provides that opportunity. During the last two years, I’ve been very impressed with how the school pivoted to keep the children safe during Covid (vaccinations for adults, masks for all over age 2, outdoor program, constant hand-washing, etc).

MVPNS will hold a special place in my heart forever. My daughter attended both the 2 and 3s co-op classes and my son has been in the parent and child and now in the 3s class. Being in a co-op preschool is so rewarding. You make life long friends not only for your children but for yourself as well. You don't get this sense of community at a drop off school the way you do here.I know this is how others feel too when I see alumni parents and students alike return to pitch in for the school. So many of the play apparatuses are handmade by a parent or grandparent. The teachers work hard to make every day different. They have a different theme each week and provide different projects every day. My son loves school so much and can't wait to go while never wanting to leave.Mvpns has been so safe during the pandemic and I love that they are requiring not only vaccinations but now boosters too for all teachers and volunteers. Everything is currently held outdoors with masks are required at all times except snack. My children will remember their MVPNS days as the best days of their lives.

Our family loves attending this preschool. We have had our kids in almost every class offered (age 2 to age 5) and the kids love the teachers. There is a lot to love as a parent also, the chance to interact with your student and learn from other parents. The community is wonderful as well, we have made some great friends here.

MVPNS is a wonderful co-op preschool. The teachers are warm, kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I am constantly impressed with the wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities offered to the children each school day, as well as the campus which is inviting, clean, and beautiful. This has been a great first preschool experience for my 3 year old daughter.

We are very happy to have found MVPNS. Due to the Covid pandemic, we kept our toddler son home longer than originally planned, but we also wanted to introduce him to other kids in a fun, educational environment. MVPNS has been the perfect fit. Our son is in the parent/toddler class, which meets once a week for 2 hours. A parent attends the class with the child. There are more co-op options for older children. At school, there are different themed art projects, puzzle and play dough stations, sensory tables, and pretend play setups which change weekly, in addition to a large sand pit with vehicles, a variety of Cozy Coupes and other ride-on vehicles to choose from, a play kitchen and garage, and ample opportunities to run around and play ball, on the swings/slide, or on a tire jumperoo. Due to Covid, school is entirely outdoors this year, but there are also amazing indoor facilities with many more toys and activity areas for normal times. Teacher Diane is very caring and plans out a thoughtful curriculum based on the seasons and various holidays, and she leads the children and parents in song and dance at circle time and reads books during snack time. Every month there is a parent education meeting (over Zoom this year), where different topics such as toddler sleep or eating are discussed. The school is very health-conscious: adults are required to be vaccinated against Covid-19, TDap, MMR and to wear masks. Children over 2 are encouraged to wear masks, and class is conducted outdoors. We feel very safe in school. The parents are assigned jobs (such as supervising art projects, cleaning up the sand box area) several times each semester, but everyone chips in. We have made new friends with other parents in the class and arranged playdates outside of school. MVPNS is a very special, nurturing community for children and their families. Our son is always excited to go to school, and we only wish class met more than once a week!
