The store is a little smaller than some other locations. The service at the deli was slow. They knew the line started to build up and only had one person on. The service at checkout was not customer friendly at all. My first time there I didn't notice the call for help button by the liquor. I thought you just go to the register and tell what you want. The cashier made no attempt to make my experience convenient. Instead I had to pay for what I had. Go back and Ring the bell for my liquor and get in line again. The customer service at this location is awful. They need training in being a bit more pleasant and realizing the customer comes first.
Since that last review I have noticed a change for the better in the customer service.

Armed guards with full body armor and black visors scan IDs at the entrance as AI-powered Enforcer drones administer knock-out gas to anyone who claims a need for a bar of soap or a band-aid. Many who enter are forced into indentured servitude to pay for the inflated prices that, in turn, pay for these "security" measures; but those who get out (by scanning a receipt that is never checked to match the contents of their bags) know the truth: the master you truly served was *your own fear.*
*Full disclosure, this is a hyperbolic representation of the newly installed, draconian security measures at this *grocery store.* The exaggeration, however, is slight.
The sandwiches are good though

This was my favorite Grocer because i could walk there, and the previous manager was always around and very friendly- it felt like a real neighborhood store!
Lately security measures have become so draconian (and ugly) and the employees clearly frustrated that rather than purchase from those inane lockers i will just drive elsewhere during other errands. I’m now worried the C-suite will just close this store down.

I went in today and asked for warm compress for dry eyes that my doctor was asking me to get for a medical condition. It is 12:45pm waiting for pharmacy to open & one of the staff didn’t listen to my question and pointed at feet stuff from compress. She just said it’s right there. I see with one eye so I said oh the warm compress is here? And she said yes. I see eye stuff and feet stuff but no warm compress for dry eyes. She had me standing there looking for the warm compress for my eyes and another staff was there and told me there was no warm compress there only feet stuff. The worst help or sense of urgency. She didnt listen to me and didn’t help me

I've decided that the sandwiches at the grocery stores are better than the others... maybe I'm biased because they've been so good!

I’ve been shopping here for almost 2 years. It’s a nice clean store. However, they recently put in locked cabinets that contain about 30-35% of the products in their shopping aisles. These are regular products such as toothpaste, laundry detergent, deodorant, cough drops, and even hand soap. This store often works on a skeleton crew that cannot manage the workload of unlocking cabinets for individual customers multiple times in a single shopping trip. There is no call button, and when you get the item you want from the cabinet, it is sent to the front of the store to be claimed at the register. I’m not talking about alcohol - I’m talking about deodorant.
I’m not going to play these games at my local grocery store just to buy regular items that I can get from Amazon. I hope Vons rethinks this new policy.

Always understaffed. Hate this grocery store. Never fails. Countless times I pick items and just put them back and leave because the registers are so slow.

I went in today thinking I would get a slight club card discount, but the tag had expired 10 days ago! When I asked the worker why it was still displayed, her response was "they do that all the time in the produce department".
So rather than apologize, remove the now-expired tag, and honor the discount; she chose to throw her coworkers under the bus. Staggeringly unprofessional for her lack of concern / action, and for whomever is / was responsible for keeping prices updated.
Also, they recent started closing at 10pm instead of 11pm, but by 9:30pm all the checkouts are closed except one, so be prepared for an interminable wait.

The prices at Von's seem to constantly inching up day by day, while the customer service seems to be in a free-fall. The staff isn't exactly the friendliest, the aisles are too close together and they're always out of what you need at that moment.
》Von's isn't really all that and a bag of chips too!!《
They have limits on their self-check out lanes now, It's an odd store, always a little on that busy side, just never enough help to justify the wait times or the prices.

Parking is upstairs and never a problem here. Fast checkout and friendly staff. They now close at 10pm just FYI.

Consistently coming to this store and the middle eastern looking security guard is always following me. The homeless are always in the store taking things all day.
