I can't say enough great things about 1440 Athletics and Fitness! This gym truly stands out, and it's all thanks to the owner, Joe. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and motivated to push my limits. Joe's approach to teaching is not only effective but also incredibly enjoyable. He's knowledgeable, patient, and has an infectious enthusiasm that makes every workout session a blast.But 1440 Athletics and Fitness is more than just a gym; it's a community that I'm proud to be a part of. I've met some amazing people here who have become like family to me. The camaraderie and support among members are truly heartwarming. This gym definitely holds a special place in my heart. I started at the gym in 2015 because I wanted to start a healthy lifestyle and hopefully be in good enough shape for my wedding. It was the best decision I ever made. I met the best people there, especially Coach Joe. I started to create a bond with members of the gym through conversations and our shared commitment to exercise and wellness. The sense of camaraderie created a positive and motivating environment within the gym. Fast forward to the present, I am a mom with two kids who lost her way and wanted to get back in shape. Joe was not hesitant to welcome me with open arms and eased me back into the workout. The diversity of the gym is also what makes it amazing, we all come in different shapes and sizes and the workout can be easily scaled to your specific ability at the moment so you can never feel intimidated to do any of the workout. The best part of being at the gym with awesome people is that they are great at holding us accountable which can help you stick to your workout and it can be a powerful motivator to keep you consistent with the exercise regimen. Being at this gym has encouraged me to stay consistent, learn from one another, and form meaningful connections with like-minded people who share their passion for health and wellness. This GYM is like a second home, it's like a FAMILY!

Feels more like a family than just an ordinary gym! Everyone is so encouraging and constantly uplifting one another. The workouts are fun, challenging, and make you break a sweat but working out in a group with friends makes it all the more manageable. All the coaches are AWESOME! They continuously motivate you to not sell yourself short and to strive to become a better, stronger version of yourself. I highly recommend 1440 for anyone seeking to take their fitness to the next level! You won't regret it!!! :)

Oh my! It’s been 10 years since I first met Coach Joe and I’m STILL raving about him and the gym!This gym holds a more special place in my heart now that I’ve had 3 kids since I first started. I’ve been in and out of the gym since 2017 and every time I come back, it’s been with open arms as if I never left. I usually have my youngest with me and depending on her mood, I’ll either workout with the barbell if she wants to stay still or dumbbells so I can still lift weights safely with her close to me. The coaches always have modifications for every workout or every movement to cater to your stage in life (life with a toddler, for example), Injury, or medical condition.The gym has grown so much and it’s created a wonderful family community. There are knowledgeable, caring, and genuine coaches that teach classes and offer personalized coaching. They offer classes from 5am to 730pm! There’s open gym sprinkled throughout the day as well!I’ve continued to come to this gym for 10 years because the coaches and the people in it have made it into a family. I always look forward to working out and I never get bored of their classes, which is a must for continued motivation!Come check us out now!

I love 1440 Athletics and Fitness. I have been a member here for about 8 years. Little box, big heart is a perfect description. Coach Joe and Coach Max care about your physical fitness goals and will work with you to help you achieve them. They also will help you modify any workout to insure your safety. They are attentive and caring. It’s a great environment to work out, seriously all fitness levels are welcome!

Best decision I've ever made. Joining this gym will always be one of the biggest things I've done. The amount of people I've met, friends I've made and the incredible coaching I've received here is unmatched, so much so that I decided I'd do my best to learn,study become a coach and give back what was given to me in return. Amazing place for anyone trying to get in shape and create a healthy life style. They are second to none when it comes to knowledge, fitness goals, safety, and nutrition plans. Have been going to a regular gym for 20 years and until now i can say that im really getting a workout. Working in groups its truly motivational, it pushes you to give that extra percent that you lack doing things on your own.

So i can tell you how this is the best crossfit / functional fitness gym in SoCal or how everyone and the staff is great. but you heard all that crap before, so all i can do is tell you my personal journey. and what lead me here. My name is Mike, and i'm a Crossfit Coach at 1440 Athletics and fitness. about a year and half ago i was 300 pounds, my girl friend of 2 years left me and i'm not proud to say i was at the lowest point of my life and even contemplated suicide. it was a dark time in my life. i had to make some serious changes in my life before it ended.i reached out to Coach Joseph Luna who i've known for several years. told him i was interested in coming back into crossfit and even thinking of getting my crossfit level 1 certification. he welcomed me in as friend, a brother, and student. i needed 1440 now more then ever i started working out daily and falling back in love with crossfit. i also started my internship / mentor- mentee program with Coach Joe to become a Crossfit Coach. With Coach Joe's leadership, i got my CF-level 1 and then got my USAW-1 certification as well. i'm proud to say i'm a crossfit coach at 1440 and i do love working out at this gym. i also love watching people succeed and reach their own personal records at 1440. maybe your journey won't be the same as mine. but if you walk through those doors Coach Joe will be there to meet you and welcome you.. Coach Paco, Coach Drea, Coach Jack, C. Jose, C. Adrian C. Derek and myself will be there to greet you and show you the ropes. i know it's difficult taking that first step and a little intimidating. all i can say is 1440 will help you in that endeavor and help you meet your physical goal. we are friends at this gym and even family. i hope you come and i'll be looking for you so we can work out together Coach Mike Guzman CF-L1 USAW-1

I've been coming here for over 6 months now and I've had never stuck to a gym like this before. It has been an awesome experience coming here due to its friendly atmosphere, clean gym, and great coaches. I get personal training from Coach Paco but it doesn't stop there. Everybody else there really pushes you to get through your workout. The classes are challenging but being in class with everyone else really encourages you. Coach Joe has been very welcoming and so has other gym members. Definitely recommend this gym to anybody interested getting started on their journey.

1440 is one of the best gyms I have ever attended for a multitude of reasons. The most important reason why 1440 AF is so awesome is due to the inclusivity and all around supportive environment. The main coach, Joe, is one of the most amazing people you will ever meet. His outgoing personality, corny dad jokes, and welcoming energy have been a foundation that the gym has built upon. The other coach, Jack, is funny and super knowledgeable about nutrition, fitness, & health. Together they have created a mini community of athletes who lift each other up (literally and figuratively) and have zero judgments to anyone. Everyone is welcome no matter what your capabilities, weakness, or health. I would highly recommend this gym to my friends & family.
