My god this place is falling apart… how do they still have members? I toured and can only assume that the old faithful are not paying what they offer for new memberships. This place needs a massive renovation. I guess the courts are nice but yikes don’t go inside ?

Staff is unbelievably unfriendly. The courts are in horrible shape (indoor and outdoor). The facilities are not clean with mold growing in the locker rooms creating multiple health hazards. The members are entitled older men/women that hate seeing 19 year old kids who are better at tennis than them. There is a reason the good players of the county aren’t members here anymore. Save yourself the money there are so many better tennis clubs in marin coming from someone who has played for a long time and at many different clubs. Go to Marin tennis club with a much more welcoming environment and overall better facilities at a similar price. If you are not at least 85 years old please do not become a member here.

Over priced, front desk unfriendly, poor management, dark and unhappy place.

A club that does not welcome youth or families. Boring environment that feels like a retirement home.

The facilities are really clean and the people working at the front desk are super helpful when setting up the app to reserve court and swim lanes. The cafe food is really good and they offer a wide selection of food.

I've been a member for many years. Management has continually improved the facility in its appearance. Thru the years, they've brought in new fitness programs with the best instructors. The fitness area recently replaced and added state of-the-art equipment. Staff is friendly and helpful. It's the only local club with indoor tennis courts and I've taken advantage of being able to play regardless of weather conditions. It's been "my home away from home" place.

In my modest opinion Mt. TAM RACQUET CLUB deserves 5 stars*****I have been a member for probably 25 years and have not had a bad day there yet, it is home away from home for me, the reasons are many: great tennis courts, 2 now converted into pickleball courts, great pool and gym and above all good people, both stuff and members alike. The little store is well equipped in case one needs a last moment item and the restaurant serves good, healthy food; all in all it is perfect for me!

you have to stop in...the front desk will give you a guest pass...try the pools-one inside one out-beautifully layer out fitness center with a stretch room...basketball court...all classes included...not tub....steam saunas ...cafe...and of course tennis courts...families grow up here..

My family has been going to Tam Racquet for years, and we love it. Great weight/fitness equipment, two pools, well maintained tennis courts, and great pros. The staff is friendly and always helpful.

This club tennis courts and teachers are great. The old lady who works in the front is very unfriendly and makes things unnecessarily hard for guest. She is very inconsiderate and should be fired and as a younger female going in the gym she is not nice and gives eyes rolls.

I have been a member for over 10 years and in short I would way rather stay at the racquet club than go to any other club in Marin. The details:The Mt. Tam Racquet Club just got a pretty nice overhaul in the pool area, new floor mats and nice trim. Indoor hot tub, indoor lap pool, and outdoor recreational pool. All are well maintained, good temperature, and I have never had any complaints. The most notable aspects of the club right now is that it is not very crowded, there is a full restaurant and café with a wonderful friendly chef, Jesus. There is the only indoor tennis courts in Marin, a full tennis equipment store, plenty of extra outdoor courts and patio area. There is a decent size gym with tons of new equipment, a separate stretching room, a separate upstairs cycling room, and an indoor basketball court (not full size but quite sufficient). In both locker rooms are large and there are plenty of locker spaces, showers, and each has a steam room (make sure to turn the steam room on before you want to get in and do something else for a little bit as they take a second to get going if not recently used but this is typical). The staff members are all very friendly. A mix of some older staff, some younger staff, and some maintenance workers is to be expected. Many of the fitness coaches and instructors have changed but there are solid tennis pros (David, Steve, and Bo), a few (mostly female) knowledgeable trainers (Angela), and lots of helpful younger staff members that can definitely give you pointers in the gym (just be friendly and ask). This club used to be very much overrun with younger children but that was never an issue for me as I enjoy when other people are enjoying. It could get to be a bit much sometimes but the hours are pretty solid so even in the peak hours a few years ago I could do everything I wanted and if I wanted quieter hours I would come in earlier or later in the day. There are three schools nearby and it used to be very common for the café to be jam packed after school (a good thing, kids need a safe place to hang out and stay out of real trouble).Recently (late 2021) there are quite a few less people and it can be a very peaceful experience. Expect that it will change over the years and if you do not like children, or families you might consider the Bay Club but you will encounter a lot more rigidness and apathetic staff at other clubs. The club is reasonably priced for individual and family memberships. The café is also reasonably priced and the food is good with a solid menu and some interesting specials.Regarding the La Meza Mediterranean Grill, I am happy that that ended and it went back to the members only café. They did reduce the size of the menu but that's fine by me as long as I can get something good for breakfast and lunch. They serve alcohol. It is clean with plenty of space to eat.The members are for the most part very friendly so you can expect to make friends if you actually use your membership. It is an great place to hang out, workout, and the people watching is honestly top notch ;)All around this is a wonderful place with some solid character. Don't listen to the "Local Guides" saying "this place needs an overhaul" or "the tennis courts sag indoors" or "unsupervised kids running around." Those people have no business giving low star reviews. If anything just come see it for yourself and book a tour. When I joined they gave me free membership for a week to test everything out and I think they will do the same now.The facility is in a prime location in downtown Larkspur. It is nice, it is clean, the management does their due diligence maintaining a wonderful atmosphere.Mt. Tam Racquet Club or MTRC has been a great place for me to grow, work out, and make friends with people of all ages.I would recommend this club to individuals and families alike.

Facilities are good. Staff is not very friendly. Especially the front desk people when you enter, specifically the older lady. It seems like they have no interest in helping you.
