I placed an order with Rick for a delivery of over $1700.00 worth of lumber. The entire time he was taking my order he kept looking at his watch as if I was keeping him from somewhere. I came back a day prior to the delivery and asked to add a few items to the order, and before even knowing what I wanted to add, he started whining....I felt as if I was a bother as opposed to a valued customer. I have had good experiences with other employees in the past.

Very nice lumber store. Always quality lumber along with the other products they carry.Excellent selection of hardware and tools. Even have a lot of specialized tools.Pro or weekend warriors, this is the place to get what you need.

The wait times in the lumber yard are sometimes really good and sometimes not, but I get pretty decent service. The most exceptional of service comes from Shay (in the yard) and Rick A. (in the shop). These two gentlemen go above and beyond, I can tell they really like what they do.

I was extremely impressed with La Mesa lumber. The customer service was exceptional. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and happy to spend time answering questions. Even while walking around the yard looking at different wood options 3 people came up to me and asked if they could help me with anything. They gave me wood samples and even stained them for me to take home. Randy helped me put my order together and make sure I had everything for my project. La Mesa Lumber prices are lower than the big box stores and you wont get this level of customer service anywhere else. I wont be buying lumber from anywhere else.

Good selection. However, the customer service could definitely improve. They will ignore you in the yard until you corner an employee making buying take excruciatingly long that cuts into your precious production time. The hours of operation are almost impossible for a homeowner to do business here. I dont understand why management doesnt hone in on the obvious.

Good selection of lumber and fasteners. Here is where they get 2 stars. They have the worst hours of operation and close on every possible holiday. They probably even close on valentines day. So therefore I spend my $25,000 project at J&B Lumber. La Mesa Lumber is always closed for business.
