This place is extremely expensive for no reason. They are taking advantage of the location. Be aware that you won’t know the price of the items until you are at the cashier because they don’t put them up at the stand.

I'm torn over how to review this place. It's a convenient place to have around and I love the staff/owners--they're very nice and helpful. But the prices for so many items here are outrageously expensive. And there are frequently no prices displayed, so you don't know how much money you're about to drop on what you thought was a cheap item until you pay. I bought a bag of Nutella cookies once (no price displayed) and it ended up being $12.99. (The same bag of cookies sells at Ralph's 1.3 miles away for $4.99.) Small single-serve frozen microwaveable commercial TV-dinners for $8.99 (no price tags). Once I learn the price at the cash register, I'm often too embarrassed to say "No thanks" and put it back. But man do I regret it!I get that real estate is expensive here, but charging this much for most of their items, sometimes more than double to what other nearby stores charge, feels exploitative. I'm shopping here as little as possible as a result. I love the potential that this place holds, and will update my rating and review if (1) price tags are displayed on items and (2) prices become more reasonable, or I'm enlightened as to a good and honest reason why they need to be this expensive.

Wow! What a great lunch we had today. The naan sandwiches are so good. I had the pesto chicken. They made it while I waited so it was warm and delicious. Prices are fine and this market has everything you might need from laundry supplies to groceries. Great for students!

I don't live nearby or on-campus but came with a friend who does. The owner and what seemed like his son? Were really friendly and helpful while we picked out things to eat. A lot of the food they have is made in-house and is halal also! I had the chicken tikka masala wrap and it was really good, it wasn't heavy and well-spiced. My friends had the chicken Caesar and roasted veggie wraps and they demolished theirs as well. The market seems convenient if you live nearby in the GFH. It's a convenience store and has food, snackies, drinks, and alcoholic beverages should you desire. There is seating outside of you want to take a break, but there isn't any space inside for eating. Some items might be a bit more than normally priced but it's a convenience store so it saves you a trip somewhere else.

I loved their bbq chicken pizza. I think this place is a wonderful spot for student/employees on UCSD campus and/or Jacobs Hospital. I had a nice conversation with the owner. They told me that a lot of their sweets, like the baklava and the cake pieces, are homemade and based on this I think they are very fairly priced for their effort and taste. This is a spot owned by an immigrant family and I think its important that we support small businesses. There are enough corporate owned shops on campus and I would far rather spend my money here. In addition, there is a lady there sometimes that teaches little paint classes! I saw her there on Friday at noon and asked if she comes often, she said she's there most Fridays. It was like a sip and paint class. She was super nice, so I'm excited to go back there and try the class too!

Street Corner Urban Market at UCSD impressed me with their exceptional customer service and mouthwatering food. The staff was friendly. The menu offered a variety of delicious options, prepared with high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend this market for all the students and staff and even people from outside the area as well! You must try the Pizza flatbreads! It's amazing!

I informed the cashier that their POS price ($3.49) was $1 more than the shelf price ($2.49). The cashier proceeded to tell me "That is not my fault. The price is $3.49". This is not the first time that the labeled prices DO NOT match the price charged.

I really like the concept of this market as being a convenience store for the three graduate student communities living in the university housing that hosts the location. However, the prices here are downright predatory to the population they exclusively serve. This market is embedded in the graduate housing, so effectively only graduate students come to this market. Coffee prices and sandwich prices are similar to Starbucks, Subway, and other to-go options, but bottled beverages are astronomical (I paid $3.49 for a regular-sized Gatorade and over $7 for a single serving of their homemade baklava). What makes this worse is that most prices are unlabeled on their products, so you're left with an awkward exchange at the register each time. This is an uncomfortable shopping experience and extremely out of touch with the budget of a graduate student. We are struggling to make rent. Nothing would make me happier than having a convenience store available to help me in a pinch, but between the prices and selected hours (which differ from the website), I can't offer much recommendation.I would gladly add more stars to my review if:(1) Items were labeled with prices,(2) Prices of packaged goods are brought similar to nearby markets instead of predatorily hyperinflated, (3) Like the prices, hours adjust to match "convenience" for the graduate student population community that this business claims to be servicing. This location is a business-twin to its location in the upscale mall across the street, but located in a very different community with different needs.

This is a great place for students and staff to get their coffee and snacks, as well as their primary needs such as fresh produce etc. The people are very nice and the ready made food is delicious. I also like the ambiance of it. Definitely recommend.
