Beautiful park with tons of trailheads and camping. In February there is still a good amount of snow and ice as you make your way up the mountain so proper shoes are necessary for hiking. We did stonewall peak trail, a 4mi out and back, medium trafficked trail.

I C Y ROADS there are not parking spaces at all. Very risky and the air conditioning system is blowing frizzy. But I love it

A nice drive. Close enough to Julian for food. Pleasant campgrounds in the area.

Lovely, short, and easy 1 mile hike for the fam. Lots of picnic benches too. Too bad much of the forest succumbed to a fire and destroyed much of the landscape. I’d like to return for a longer hike!

It's a nice and safe place to set up camp, campfire and have a nice time. The hike will be good and if you like camping it is a fun place .

Nice state park to see fall colors. We missed fall color having moved from mid west but Stonewall mine hike is well worth a quick trip to see the fall colors

Very good place to come and set up camp. Been coming here for years. The park and amenities are always super clean. The staff is usually very kind but we've had issues with some of the park rangers and their attitudes and inability to count money in the past. The state rangers (law enforcement) are always awesome and nice to talk to.

Clean. trails were well marked. Rangers were very nice. One negative, a lot of crazy drivers on the road but they must be local and used to the turns.

Beautiful state park, cost $10 to go in. The campgrounds are steep at $40. Only got to do Cuyamaca Peak in my short time here but I really enjoyed how much the park differs depending on where you are in elevation or location.

Granite Springs . Nice primitive campground ⛺️ for backpacking and horseback packing. They have a corral for the horses ? along with non-potable water

This is one of our favorite places to ride a mountain bike in San Diego County. We actually used to be members of their Mountain Bike Assistance Unit for many years in the 1990s. At the time, we hoped that our avid volunteerism would help promote the building and opening of more singletrack trails for mountain bikers. Then, they opened up the Cold Stream Trail, which is one of my all-time favorite trails to ride on. The beauty and potential to see all kinds of wildlife is outstanding. The rocks and trees seem to have their own personalities. People you encounter on the trail are friendly. We all love to be in the arms of Nature.

Great place if you are camping specifically to fish as you can camp right on the lake!! If you are looking for quiet and seclusion, this may not be the place. Sites are a bit small and really pushed together but if you are taking multiple sites as a family this is a big plus. Close to Julian and hiking trails and boat launches. Super clean bathrooms with hit water and showers too. Friendly check in.
