They're so bureaucratic that if your situation doesn't fit in their assumed story then you'll get rejected and every stuff shows annoyed instead of sharing your situation. While, many other places are really trying to offer their service to "everyone in need". But of course when you can get the deal, just get it, which is the deal there unlike all the other places in OC.They really need to clearly tell the public that they are not helping the people in need but they are helping the people that match to their business. (As you can see so many 1⭐ reviews)Actually they should say clearly from the very beginning that for them to get support from sponsors visitors just need to write less income than CA low income (and verification is not required as far as lower than the criteria), otherwise you'll never get anything, no matter what situation you are struggling in; in other words, even though you're really in need. Like many other 1⭐ reviews this whole place makes visitors understand they're doing their "business" rather than trying to help "people in need."So never expecting to hear sorry or thank you please be ready to do your business with them if you need to visit this place.

we wouldn't have come if we really didn't need it. She began to ask a lot of questions, I was very unpleasant from such an attitude. and want to leave quickly. it's a pity that when you really need it, you feel insulted. we refused help and left.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with South County Outreach. They have helped me during my most difficult times of my life. They provide food at their pantry on a monthly basis and I am able to pick what I need according to my diet and needs. Thank you so much.

The man today was a real j*** and just as I was looking at the aisle he comes over and starts to tell me nonsense. So basically I wasn't able to obtain any bread items at all because of this man thinking I was taking it from his own home. Thank you for wasting my time today

This place is corrupt and discriminatory. They will offer assistance and take three months asking every week for new documents to be signed and letters to be written and submitted. After all that work and time taken, they will state the case is approved and the check is being mailed. Two weeks later when the landlord is asking where the check is, they deny the case because they are either completely inept or more likely discriminatory and prejudiced and not really willing to help people who need it. Avoid SCO at all cost and seek assistance elsewhere, this place is evil and has made a bad situation worse for people asking for assistance to get theough a tough time.

I am doing this review as a person who has donated here. I used to donate items to a friends store for Mothers Day bags for South County Outreach and when that store closed I reached out to see if I could donate directly. They were very friendly and said of course, and I planned for a weekday when I was off work taking care of other errands as their hours are 9am - 3pm I believe and I typically am at work during those times. They had a tent outside in the parking lot where it sounded like they were assisting people who needed it, and so I went off to the side to a guy unloading some items and he took my stuff. It felt great to be able to still donate these things, and if you have any NEW sample sized items (makeup, toiletries, hair products, etc.) I suggest dropping them off and tell them its for their "Mothers Day Bags"

Volunteered at South County Outreach and I have nothing but positive things to say about this organization. They truly care about the community and offer fantastic services for those in need. They really stepped up to the plate when the pandemic hit and I can't recommend them enough!
