Store seemed pretty empty. Cafe food is good but pricey. Wonder how long they can last if it is always so slow.

I decided to explore the make up department today in order to get more familiar with the best brands for my skin care. I was lucky enough to be assisted by Naomi! From the moment I walked into Nordstrom she greeted me with the warmest smile, and said she would walk me through all the essentials. For someone like me who is a bit anxious in regards of trying new things, Naomi made sure I knew exactly what I was going home with. Her work station was spotless while she quickly prepped for me. Her make up tutorial before I left made me feel confident in both the products & her ability to recommend the best brands. Her conversation was so polite, and her knowledge of the industry was so generous. By the end of my session she had a list of products best for my skin health, and the best part is that she values the quality of a product by experience. I trusted her with my whole face. I left feeling confident & committed to a whole new level of self care. Thank you Naomi for being so patient with me! You really allowed me to leave that day confidence:)

Anyone that wants a personalized shopping experience at the Nordstrom in Irvine should ask for Denis (maybe he spells his name with two n's). My son and I went to Nordstorm to get him a new shirt to wear for a very important audition. We had the men's department help us with finding the right product based on fit and price. The sales person in the men's department was ok. But Denis was a star. We waited for the shirt to get steamed (thank you Nordstom!). While waiting we saw Denis in the fragrance area. Denis took it from there. He really embodied the Nordstrom service motto. Denis was dressed to impress, which was a breath of fresh air. My 19-year-old son got to see how a true professional sales person acts and behaves. Thank you Denis. Both my son and I think Denis helped us four years ago pre-pandemic.

I wanted to give a well deserved shoutout to Shane who works in the men’s department. I came in today to do a return for some Birkenstock clogs I bought for my husband. Right off the bat Shane greeted me with a smile and positive attitude. He helped me return the clogs and then helped me order the size I needed online. He was such a great help! The reason I send this email is because I get anxious going to stores and returning items, especially at Nordstrom. As a former Nordstrom employee, it is easy to get caught up in the commission and not get excited for returns. However, Shane showed great customer service and treated me as if I were buying a large amount of items. That is great customer service to me!

Today, I went into Nordstrom - Irvine Spectrum to look for a tuxedo shirt. KC assisted me and, honestly, I’ve never received the service from this store like I received today. She was AWESOME!!! So incredibly helpful and such a beautiful personality! All Nordstrom employees should be like KC !!!! (Nordstrom manager: Give her a raise!)

Honestly,I usually love coming to this Nordstrom but I doubt I’ll come back anytime. This lady whose name I didn’t get (middle aged with glasses) is a nightmare. Who ever runs the men’s department needs to seriously review her customer service or lack there of. I came in with an expensive pair of suede shoes which I needed a suede belt for as I have an important business meeting coming up. I asked one gentleman for help as he was kind enough to guide me to the belts. As I came back not being able to find any suede belts, the woman leaning on the clothes rack talked to me and asked what I needed. She told me “you’re not gonna find anything in this mall… you need to go somewhere else” she’s like “you should go to target” and then proceeds to ask me if I even live in the area. I needed a suede belt to complete a look and she exclaimed I’m looking at the wrong place and suede and suede doesn’t make sense, then she went on to gloat about herself and now long she’s worked in the industry and that she knows better. Complete know it all and tried one upping me as I told her I work in luxury retail. Meanwhile the gentleman who work in another department told me she’s a handful. Please do something about it.

Carla is the best stylist ever! Definitely ask for her if you’re shopping at Nordstrom at Irvine Spectrum. She’s made every shopping experience so wonderful and truly had some fantastic picks. What would I do without her?!

I LEFT THIS LOCATION IN TEARS TODAY THANKS TO KELLI. I never leave reviews even if I have unusually bad service but I have never been targeted BEFORE today. I walked into Nordstrom with my fiancé, went up the escalator and after taking TWO steps off, I was bombarded by a woman much much older than me. She stared at me without blinking and asked "do you need anything?? You look confused?"I was confused... at first I thought she was being helpful and had simply had a pushy approach (pushy because she was leaning in quite a bit). She kept insisting that I looked confused but it was very clear by the tone she meant that I looked out of place at this store.I decided to take her up on her offer and ask if she could help me find the House of CB display. She said "is that supposed to be a women’s brand?"House of CB is sold at Nordstrom. She followed me (an obvious FEMALE) asked me what clothing I’m looking for and is now asking if what I'm looking for is for women? What else would a FEMALE be looking for in the FEMALE clothing section after being asked what she is looking for. Because of today's political climate, Im almost wondering if she was insinuating something to do with gender??Finally, after explaining its a brand carried by the store, she cuts me off to say "I wouldn't know anything about that I don't work this floor" and how she knows nothing.... So then why are we staring at each other on the second floor of the Nordstrom having this conversation??It was bizarre, I thought maybe she was a crazy person who really doesn't work here. I would've never assumed, this entire conversation was for... what exactly? To make me feel uncomfortable?I walk in to be followed up the escalator and questioned in under a minute of first entering then, I am completely ignored after answering and looked at like I'm crazy for asking for a brand that they carry. As she walked away I called after to ask for her name. She ignored me multiple times until finally turning around to say"for what?? It's Kelli"Okay so now it makes sense. So you are following and harassing customers, instigating ridiculous interactions and trying to intimidate them. When they answer you genuinely and decide to take you up on your offer to "help". You claim to know nothing of the brands carried by your store, that you do not work the floor you are harassing me on, and that you can't help me... despite following me up the escalator and asking if I'm what I'm looking for is meant for women??It was only after aaaalll of it put together that I realized, her initial interaction wasn't just awkward, it was intentionally passive aggressive and I was targeted. I didn’t look confused at all so when she said “you look confused” it became very clear she meant I do not belong.Do better. I know I am not the only one who has had this experience. After reading Yelp reviews, it is clear I am not the only one to have experienced this with this set of customer service workers. It was so jarring. I've never been so obviously singled out. I went home and looked at myself wondering what was so wrong about the way I look that this random woman decided to hone in on me the second she saw me.We ended up taking our business to Aritzia in Costa Mesa. The House of CB dresses have sucky reviews on the Nordstrom rack anyway!!!Save your time and go a little north to South Coast for a better shopping experience
