If you have a choice of this one or Costa Mesa go to Costa Mesa. It's larger with more options especially for dining in the food court. We got udon and soba which were so bland and disappointing. Sure it was edible but when you're used to the Costa Mesa udon or udon from Hako you'll be disappointed here. Plus it's inexpensive. Service was good but it's also limited on seating so just be aware of that as well. Again I'm so used to the Mitsuwa in Costa Mesa

I like this store as it's closer to me than the Costa Mesa store. Santouka is my go-to ramen shop so it's mostly the reason I go to Mitsuwa. If I need just one or two items I got to the grocery store, otherwise I go to the other Japanese grocery store in Costa Mesa (to be unnamed so my post doesn't get deleted) as their prices are way lower than Mitsuwa.

I love coming here for the beef tongue set. Tge wait can be pretty long depending what time of day you come. The longest I have waited was 30 minutes but its worth it! You can walk around the market and daiso while you wait.

Yes it's smaller but there's still no shortage of ingredients, ramens and chips to stock up on! There's also a daiso and other restaurants in the shopping plaza so if in the area I suggest you stop in and check this little gem out.

I love visiting Mitsuwa Marketplace in Irvine with my family! My go-to is the plain udon - it's affordable at around eight dollars, filling, and delicious. My brother enjoys the soba noodles without broth. The seating is ample, everything is clean, and the staff is efficient. Plus, there's a marketplace for snacks or sushi right behind. Highly recommend!

Less selection than Costa Mesa store. Parking insane. Good court is very limited compared to Costa Mesa. Worst of all my grocery bag had a cockroach in it when I got home. Yuck!

I want to update my review since I was here recently and enjoyed my experience more than last time. I had lunch at the food court before doing my shopping which was nice, they don't have a lot of options, but I do like the places that they have. I bought some snacks, tea and soba here. It was fairly easy to find what I was looking for and check out was simple.

My partner was looking at the meat section and there was photo next to the meat section of a person who had previously stolen from the store and while my partner was looking at the photo, a manager kicked open a door, stared at him and then slinked back behind the door. I get wanting to prevent theft but then why would put something for people to look at an area you don't want people to linger at for too long. Don't come here unless you like management staring at you like you're a thief for just looking.

Has everything you need for making a great Japanese meal. There fish is great. Nice sake selection. And the small food court is great also. My favorite Asian food store!

I only had taken pictures of the food court. They have soooo many different Ramens, stir frys, curry, Japanese food galore... I would highly recommend for a lunch stop. There's also a Daiso attached to the Mitsuwa store by the food court. The store was clean and everyone I came across was happy, friendly and helpful.I will say parking was a little tight, I have a larger vehicle and both tires on each side touched the parking spot lines. Also, there was not a lot of parking spots to choose from.

Delicious food court with 4 or 5 different options. Market has fresh sashimi grade fish. Authentic Japanese products

Simply amazing. Selection of authentic Japanese items and the atmosphere is friendly. Don't skip out on the food court in the back!! If parking is crazy, there's some in the back of the building as well that many are not aware. Highly recommend. (And Diaso is next door too)

This is the smallest Mitsuwa I have ever seen. I was shocked to see how little stock they carry, compared to other locations. The sushi offerings were very limited and the prices were quite high. The rolls were made sloppily, with the skimpiest circle of rice I've ever seen. There wasn't much selection on the other prepared foods either. I needed to get some tofu and was shocked to see that the expiration date was within a week! It did not fill me with confidence to purchase other products there. Checkout service was fine, which is why I'm giving this three stars. Overall, I was pretty disappointed and will stick to driving further to go to one of their larger markets.

The sushi section is getting worse than before. Those food quality did it match the price they set. The merchandise they carry is not updating. Nothing excited to shop about...

Great selection of Japanese treats and essentials! The mochi and ice cream here is so good. Always exciting to come here and try the food at the food court. Prices can be a little high for the snacks and candy though.
