I bought yang-nyum chicken which was wrapped and displayed on the shelf. One that has bones in it. The red sweet and spicy sauce one. It was undercooked. No need of more explanation. Just raw. Red blood and uncooked meat. It was disgusting..

Be extremely careful when you shop at Zion markets. Do NOT let them RIP you OFF !!! I just came back from shopping at Zion market. I am extremely upset. After checking out, on the way to my car, I happened to looked at the details of the receipt. I was so surprised by the weight of the onion. I bought a bag of pre-packaged 3 lbs apples. There is no way that one onion weighs more then 2 lbs while 11 similar sized apples weigh 3 lbs! I went back to the store, found a scale, and weighed them myself...... I found a manager. I was surprised again. I didn't even finish one sentence. She saw me waving that onion and ginger, immediately ran to me, took the items, and said sorry that she didn't know how that had happened. Obviously, she knew it!!! When she was refunding me the charges, I saw on the monitor, it showed extra 2-one dollar discounts in big red letters that she's going to give to me. I thought ok. I guessed that they were sincerely regret of making the mistakes. When she tried to tell me about the discounts, I didn't pay attention since I was busy getting my credit card out. She stopped the explanation in the middle. After I got the receipt, on the way out, I saw that 2-one dollar extra discounts were not there! I didn't go back this time. I don't really care too much about that two extra dollars. But the store's sneaking behavior made me more disappointed than ever!!! Be extremely careful when you shop at Zion markets. Do NOT let them RIP you OFF !!! I attached a picture of the receipts. See it yourself.

Got serious food poisoning from eating their marinated raw seafood from the fresh deli area. It was either the oysters, squid, or octopus banchan in the seasoned red paste. The sickness hit us the day after eating and took us out for 2-4 days. A both ends kind of deal, if you know what I mean. not good! worst we've ever had. And I'm Very confident it was due to these dishes because out of a family of 4, the only 3 people who ate these dishes were the Only ones who got sick. not happy edit: I was able to get in contact with the store. They seemed decently concerned with how we were doing. Was offered a refund. I'll still not be coming back as a precaution.

I've been enjoying the prepared Korean food and banchan (side dishes) during the weekends. I've tried their bulgogi, Korean style fried chicken, kimchi, chap chae (sweet potato vermicelli noodles with spinach and carrots), croaker (battered fried fish), and potato salad. Selections varied slightly on the two Saturdays I went. I've also ordered kalbi (marinated beef short ribs) from the butcher section. The butcher and cashiers were nice. If you want freshly made Korean style fried chicken, there is a food court restaurant in the grocery store that makes it, along with kimbap. They also have a restaurant called K-Pop Sushi. Seating is limited. Towards the produce section, they have a juice bar. I plan future visits here.

Sashimi Salad $9.99+tax @ Japanese stall (includes: gochujang+sesame oil, beets, sliced onion, cucumber, seaweed, radish, imitation crab, tuna, salmon, varied fish but usually tuna and salmon, today included aged snapper, lettuce, red cabbage, carrots, sesame seeds). Pay separate from groceries at the stall. Definitely more complex than the one at H-Mart but not as tasty/fresh. Potato salad is awesome. It's apple potato salad. Like how Kewpie mayo is different from regular mayo, this potato salad is different but still good compared to country style potato salad. Side Dish Banchan section definitely not as big as H-Mart but still good. Sales on fruits can sell out on the first day even if they advertise for multiple days. More fresh and varied produce than H-Mart and Wholesome Choice. Price comparison - H-Mart most expensive, followed by Zion, then WC. They carry more products in general than H-Mart for K-Food wants and needs. They carry frozen half-dried fish (super popular in making authentic K-foods but hard to find and time consuming to DIY), variety of salted shrimp and kimchi, pre-selected brands of sauces (popularly curated) and even carry skate sashimi (in the raw foods section).

I've been to this store 3 times and i've noticed some of the fruits were rotten and the vegetables were not fresh at all. It looks like they've been out for a while. They should not be selling that. I like going to the one in on Irvine Blvd and the one in San Diego better.

I am regular customer of this market. This morning, I noticed that employee collected shopping cart and put in back for use without cleaning. I asked the employee for cleaning but he ignored me. There were no cleaning wipes provided at front door. This is terrible practice in this Covid-19 environment. I called and talked with store office person. She indicated cleaning is depends on each store and they stopped cleaning. 'This makes me feel terrible.

Zion Mart has all the essentials. It's my go-to place for marinated Kalbi, shishito peppers, and kimchi. The meat is high quality at reasonable price and they have a great selection of produce and snacks.

They steal your card information and later overcharge on it. Be very careful. The Korean lady who claims herself as store manager is horrible.

Went to go get milk and boy let me tell you all the bad things in that section. First of all, there was some holiday eggnog still on the shelf that expired back in early may. Secondly, there was so much MOLD!!! I couldn't believe how disgusting it was. Finally, the refrigerators the entire back wall was running at 52° F. Everything was warm. All the perishable food was in the perfect temp for bacteria growth.

Zion Mart is an excellent Korean Grocer. Although I would call myself more of an H Mart fan, Zion Mart is gaining on me as it is closer to my house, the prices are as low as it gets, and the parking situation is not a nightmare which is very rare in Irvine these days. For whatever reason the staff are twenty times more efficient than Ralph's or the now-defunct Albertson's on Alton making my go-to for times I have a short shopping list or want to get in on the $3.99 six packs of Hite, Cass, or Kloud Beer. They also have a fantastic food court with incredible Korean Fried Chicken and take out Sushi. Zion Mart also offers a splendid variety of Banana Kick, Pocky, and Chips/Snacks for the Korean market. I think I have a new favorite for a Korean Market. Sorry about that H Mart.
