I moved to University Park in 1966 before the shopping center was built, and we are so fortunate to have always had our own hardware store here. I was grateful when Ace came in, so we would never be without one. They have always functioned like a good neighborhood store, not a big chain. They have an excellent selection, and the staff is always personable and helpful. It's such a welcome atmosphere compared to going to a big box store that I always try them first. Where else will someone give you that personal help in picking out 11 cents worth of washers or screws!

Ordered online for in store pickup but it wasn't ready when I showed up an hour later. Much faster to just go to the store and grab the items yourself off the shelf. When I gathered the items myself, one of the clerks shouted out that he told me not to do that because it messed up their "system". No worries, this customer will never return to mess up your well oiled operations.

This place definitely deserves 5-stars! I am constantly at Home Depot's, Lowe's and find myself at ace hardware at times. The staff are very helpful and courteous. They've helped our many times at the paint counter and even helped me shake up old paint without any charge. The prices are a tad bit higher than the big box stores but it's totally worth it for that home town hardware store experience.

I really appreciate the customer service that Ace provided me especially Alan. I was there to make a lid to convert an aquarium lid for fish to a framed screen lid as a terrarium for a lizard that my daughter wants. Alan helped me procure the materials in a creative way.

I have shopped at this wonderful Ace a few times in the 18 months I've lived in Irvine. I LOVE THEM! As a woman (old) I always brace myself when I have to ask for help in a hardware store, but here I've always been treated with respect and patience. And as a former employee of Ace Corporate Headquarters in Oak Brook, I know the customer service expectations. A-plus experience!

Had an amazing experience with this location. All due to the incredible customer service experience I had by Fred. He is outstanding. Best customer service experience I've had with any business in years. He problem solved an issue that my fiancé was having and resolved it without any help. Fred is the man! Thanks Again!!

Shoutout to Freddy for the best customer service I've experienced in YEARS!!! He's gone above and beyond, leveraged every source he could think of/had access to in order to help me out.
Great attitude throughout the process, and great patience too!! Really tried his best to follow through and eventually got to the best solution.

I really appreciate how Ace Hardware handled my review. I wrote my previous review right after the incident happened and was angry, so it was honestly how I felt. They seemed to validate and follow up with my concerns.
Though I said I would not return to the store, I have. There seemed to be more staff than they did the last time I was there, and were more helpful.

This Crown Ace Hardware just lost a lifetime customer, at least until COVID vaccination is in place and possibly for good.
I needed some duplicate keys. So of course I headed to Ace. It was encouraging to see staff & customers all wearing masks in the store, AS REQUIRED.
Except for one staff person. The one working the key counter helping me. His mask was dangling off his lips. I'm praying he isn't a silent spreader.
So goodbye Ace, for now.

Started with an bad online pick up experience where their fulfillment had shipped them the wrong items after over a week of waiting. Derrick and Steve went above and beyond to make things right and put an expedite on the reorder. Definitely the type of care missing from a larger hardware store.
