In our HOA, Geoff and Company can't seem to deal with common area issues including dead plants, debris buildup and...the worst of all: Our previously lovely and mostly clean catch basin park which now has a serious dog waste problem. In fact, he took an attitude that his crew should not pick up dog waste in common areas and it is the fault of lazy and irresponsible dog owner residents (we pay his monthly fee). Now, the catch basin park is unusable because dog waste, new and old is everywhere, the worst it has ever been. Maybe it is time to call the city health department because I would hate to have people's grandchildren be exposed to this.

They open at 8am but here they are outside my house at 7am on a Saturday revving their chainsaws and yelling. Very unprofessional!

While driving home from work one of their drivers or owner was purposely keeping other drivers from driving around him.. As he kept his truck parallel to the vehicle next to him causing myself and others from moving on.. that's chicken s*** and low.. remember your driving a company truck, a******** Lic #68396K2

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PLS! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! We have a vacation home in Palm Desert and hired PLS to do landscape design and weekly maintence for us. At first everything seemed fine, they showed up and maintained the property. I later received a call from our neighbor that "our landscaping was looking sad and everything was brown and dying." To my surprise, Geoff from PLS had stopped servicing our property without notifying us! The home had gone months without any maintenance whatsoever, all while still charging us. I contacted Geoff, and after much debate as to when the service stopped he agreed to refund a small portion of our money. We were not in agreement on the exact date service ceased, so clearly were not in agreement on the amount of money that should be refunded. I later checked the motion history on our Ring camera to confirm the time frame that PLS had stopped arriving and departing from our property and could clearly see the exact date PLS had stopped service. I was not surprised to see that our service ceased far earlier than Geoff cared to admit. He then sent a "minimal" check to our vacation home. He was VERY aware that all communication should be sent to our main residence in Los Angeles, but still sent all communications and a small refund check to a property that we rarely visit. Months later, I found the refund check and deposited it, only to learn that it did NOT clear! I contacted Geoff right away a requested that a new check be sent out. I still have not received a reply. I was out the minuscule amount that he refunded us along with a $12.00 fee that my bank charged us for his "insufficient" check. All calls and text to Geoff have still gone unanswered. I am taking the time to write this, not because of the money, but because I do not want this to happen to anyone else.....

PLS did great design work but follow up was lacking. Hence only 2 stars. Last fall 2018 PLS was hired to landscape our backyard. We liked the design. It included removing existing grass and replace with rock and plants. It wasn't cheap. After completion we noticed "nutgrass" (or sedge) coming through the rock. A lot of it! Geoff sent someone to spray. Requires special sedge-killer. But it kept coming back. A lot of it! Geoff then said he would send someone out again. But they didn't show. This was July 2019. Email to Geoff bounced back. Called and was told he had left the partnership but I was still his customer and he would send someone out. Never showed. Haven't heard from him again. Now spends no more money to fix their problems. I pay for a result. Didn't get it. Didn't get the follow through. I was VERY patient. (Fall to July!). But have given up on this company and Geoff. You are warned if you go with them.

Geoff responded quickly to our inquiry, and we were able to send him photos of some ideas we had. From the time he came out and talked over the plans, until final installation, all went smoothly and we are very happy. He was able to fit into our tight time schedule, and we love the look of our new landscaping.

Geoff, In your reply to me, you never addressed the fact that two messages left with the woman answering your phone went unanswered, that you had said you were busy but said you'd get me something in 2-3 days, and also that the only time I heard from you was after I posted my initial review. You had said you were busy when you came over but NEVER indicated it would be weeks before I'd hear from you. I agree the lack of returning messages is not great communication. Perhaps, since you are so busy, the person answering the phone could have called me back with your answer.

Wow! Geoff Hayball is great! We have a newly constructed house and needed an entire back yard installed. We met with him and he designed what we wanted, while staying within our budget. His crew were pros and knew what they were doing and Geoff was there every day to supervise. Our yard looks great! I found PLS on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! Great job and great people to work with!

I never take the time to write a review. After getting 4 estimates for my large backyard, I decided to go with Geoff. Well let me tell you, it was a great decision. Geoff and his team did a fabulous job. Geoff was proactive the whole time. He was always available, great advice on plants & did everything he said he was going to do. The price was very reasonable. I can not be happier. Geoff, thank you for a fabulous job. I love my yard

Update: January 2, 2019. Geoff's team came out and replaced the poles supporting all my new ficus plants with sturdier lodge poles so the plants would withstand the high winds we get. They also sprayed for any stray grass or weeds that popped up through the stones. When they tested the irrigation system to make sure they didn't disrupt anything, they discovered a leak in a joint of the older existing PVC pipe. They promptly dug down and repaired the leak. Above and beyond as usual. Very happy AGAIN!
