I would highly recommend you do not bring your cat here...or any animal here.We waited 20 minutes for a vet tech to come in...fine. Our sweet cat was perfectly happy in the exam room. Then, the tech takes her back for shots after five minutes with the vet. The tech comes back and says:"We couldn't give her the vaccines. She freaked out and we didn't want to stress her out. I think a dog looked at her the wrong way. She also peed on herself. Hopefully she cleans it off." - Vet techWow. 1. Just give the cat the vaccines in the exam room where I can hold my docile senior cat. Don't bring her to the back with a bunch of dogs barking...2. Then, they told us we needed to pay for medicine to sedate her and give it to her before a new appointment that we need to schedule...so that she can get her vaccines that they were unable to give due to serious lack of reasoning skills...What?3. How about you rinse her off and don't leave her covered in her urine.Oh...and they kept our towel.

Choosing a veterinarian for your pet is as personal as choosing a physician for yourself. I've been going to Hermosa Animal Hospital for about 30 years. I have my favorite, Dr Liebl, and that is due to the fact he knows me and my passion for volunteering in the rescue community. Not to mention, his experience as a veterinarian spans decades. I need that knowledge and experience with some of the severe medical cases I rescue. He's always hopeful in trying something when another vet may it's time to let them go. He's never ever let me down.I don't usually post these things but I've seen so much bashing in the field of veterinary medicine since Covid, I decided to speak up. Can they do a little better at the front desk? I believe they can. But it is not out of the ordinary to have to wait on hold only to find out the soonest appointment is in two to three weeks. I ask you to think about customer service across the board. Embrace it, you won't see changes any time soon, it is our new normal. But that does not have to be a reflection on the amazing doctors they have at the hospital. Take the appointment. Call in to check for cancellations as they do happen. The sooner people accept wait times are longer, customer service isn't ideal (way understaffed), the less hostility and anger will be felt. Just breathe.

The vet is lovely and excellent however, since that office became a VCA affiliate, their prices have skyrocketed! They want between $1475 and $1975 for a dental cleaning on a small dog with minimal tartar on her teeth! You can get teeth cleaned at Banfield as well as all the shots and exams they need for a full year at less than half the price! VCA is a greedy company and they don't give a damn about anything but the money!!

I have been going to this vet for over 15 years. This is my 3rd dog they have treated. Everyone there is kind, cares about your animals health and really takes excellent care of your animals - mine are dogs. Shout out to Dr's Liebl and Duone who are simply the best. And the admin staff who does the best to get you in ASAP - which is very appreciated. Cant name them all but Nocho, and Janelle - you guys rock!

I really want to say Thankyou to everyone at HAH. Dr Lieble takes the time to make sure you understand what’s going on with your pet. From the time I walked in We felt welcome. The staff was friendly and made Boomer feel relaxed. My Berner means everything to me. He’s been there since I was diagnosed with cancer. He’s helped through thick and thin. Everyone here treats him like there own. I’m sure they will do the same for your best buddy also. Remember if you have to wait a bit on the phone or in the lobby don’t sweat it. Who would you rather have looking after the well-being of your best friend. The vet that’s never busy? Or the one where all those great people are working through lunch right up till dinner time?? Thanks to all

My dog had to be urgently put down. The night before, we scheduled an appointment to put him down at 11:00 am. When we woke up, he was screaming in pain. We ended up arriving about 10:55 am and checked in. He was in the back, already suffering. It was about 11:30 when we finally got in. And even then, they didn't allow all four of us in. When the doctor came to see my dog, she checked his heartbeat and it was 1 beat per minute. He suffered in the back of our car for the longest time. It could've been a more peaceful moment, but instead was a tragedy. Thank you, so much, VCA Hermosa Animal Hospital.

The staff is always very helpful. I brought my new puppy in and signed up for the one year puppy care. Seems to be worth it w all it covers. I also like that any meds I need that can fill right there wo having to go to a compound pharmacy. I tried the app as well and it's very user friendly, easy to navigate.

I have been going here since about 2000 but when VCA took over things got bad. I love the vet (Dr. Doane), there's none better, and I've given them time to figure it out. But after several years of continuous issues that put my dogs life in danger my final straw happened this past summer when my dog was peeing blood. I called, no answer and they forced me to leave a message (and they would get back to you soon) and it's Dec and I'm still waiting for that returned call. But I'm not d**** the same day I called who is now my new vet, and they responded in the same day. I won't go back. I won't refer them. Six months (roughly) later I'm still upset enough to take time to share this with others. The staff is not organized, and clearly they don't follow their own processes. My earlier issues were around shots. They don't keep their system up to date and tried to give my dog more shots more frequently than needed and only when I got the doctor involved did anyone make sure only the shots needed were given. I'd follow Dr Doane anywhere else but I will never go back to this facility. After 22 years, that should say it all.

Thank you and you guys are very loving and sweet, the other VCA in manhattan beach was trying to charge me 700 more extra just to get my dog spayed. You guys are wayyyy better and don't charge people just to get extra money from us. Thank you !!!

Before VCA took over this veterinary hospital gave great service and had great vets. Since it became a VCA animal Hospital, they've lost some good people, and the service has become terrible. I still love the vet. I've been using for years but just now when I tried to make an appointment I was put on hold for 30 minutes. Heard several clicks like they were trying to deal with my phone call. I finally hung up and called again. I was put on hold for another 20 minutes and then I gave up.

My dog is 16 years old. I can no longer carry him as he is about 100 pounds and has tumors covering his body. Moving him into the car would be impossible as he can barely walk up the stairs. I called my vet to tell them the situation, which is he can no longer hold his bowels and ask for some advise. I have paid thousands upon thousands in his lifetime for vet care. The disrespect, and ignorance, and blatant disregard for my animal was off the charts. Sorry sir we are booked for at least a week and we cant offer any advice over the phone, especially since we havent seen your pet in over 2 years. 2 Years ago, they told me he had kidney cancer and wouldnt last long. These people are scum. I do not believe they have the best intentions close at heart and we will NEVER be back to visit this vet clinic. GOODBYE!!!

I was not going to make a negative review of this hospital, however, I am. I was with Dr. Liebl for over 35 years and 8 dogs. He was always the best. In all those years, I never had a problem with staff, appointments, anything. I recommended him to everyone. And then VCA took over. I couldn't get an appointment without a month wait, even for nail trim! I never got a notice when shots were due. They simply didn't care about the faithful patients any longer. They must have tossed all the original files. I found another vet who offered better service. I regreted having to leave this hospital, but it is just not the same with VCA in charge. Today I checked the Yelp comments to see if things ever got better, but, sadly they have not. I will never use a VCA run establishment.

This place used to be great(I'm a 15 year client who has brought in no less than 10 animals for appts) before it was bought by the VCA. Now it's just poorly run. You call and wait on hold for 10 minutes(minimum) before someone speaks to you. App never works and you can't make an appt online. Takes 2-3 months to even get a check up for your animal once you get through. That's just ridiculous and mis-managed on so many levels. The only stars they get here is for Dr Charlotte who was awesome(but now quit) and Dr. Doan who has a 3 month waiting list who is also awesome. Time to find a new more reliable and available Vet in the South Bay!

I recently lost my 12 year old German Shepherd, Duke, to DM (Degenerative Myelopathy). I have worked with many vets in the past but never anyone as supportive and caring as Dr. Steve Liebl of VCA Hermosa Beach. He quickly diagnosed Duke's deteriorating condition as DM and provided me background information on the disease and the outlook for the immediate future. DM is currently not curable. Dr. Liebl shared with me his experience with DM on his own Shepherd and how we could make Duke's remaining time on earth as comfortable as possible. I would recommend him unconditionally to all dog lovers.
