2005 Dodge Cummins with a 48R E: The torque converter cooler (little rectangular box that sits on the side of the engine block) went out which allowed coolant to mix with trans fluid. With a new oversized Mishimoto cooler and FSD bypass lines installed I had the truck towed to the Center on Monday. They had the transmission out on Tuesday and took it completely down. Wednesday assembly happened with a new billet converter. By Thursday they had installed the new GM conversion solenoid and upgraded transducer I had purchased plus new springs; including a OEM gasket from the Dodge house. Friday the truck was ready to drive home. It shifts supper smooth on easy takeoffs and is snappy on hard accelerations. New cooler 520, bypass lines 230, gm solenoid and transducer 380, plus new converter and rebuild 3K. Happy with the price and customer service.

I strongly recommend Hemet Transmission to any one. I had another company trouble shoot my transmission issues an tell me my transmission needed to be replaced an wanted $5200 to fix my issue , I then left an took it to hemet transmission for a 2nd quote. After explaining to him what my van was doing he suggested he didn't think it was the transmission an wanted me to leave it there so he could have time to look into it . Long story short it was not my transmission, an Hemet Transmission fixed my issues within A couple hours and even saving me $4800 " wonderful shop - trust worthy, very reasonable, and professional."

Ed and his crew saved me from returning to the Ford dealership. Ford did not have an available transmission specialist, so I'm glad that I went to Hemet Trans, they fixed my car with no oroblem...easy peasy. Bye bye Ford... Hello Hemet Transmission! And thank you very much.

Up front summary - I know cars very well. I've never done business with ed, so I'm not going to judge him or his capabilities. My review is based on his method of providing no quotes but charging $125 for initial troubleshooting My battery is dead one day, got it jump started, tested with my own voltmeter the battery and the alternator output. I then took the car to TWO parts stores, separately having them test the battery and alternator. Both tests reported the regulator, which is now integrated with the alternator (totally completely stupid), was failing the test. I told Ed this information. His response was he doesn't know what two people did (completely discounted anybody else's opinion). He could have at least said, hmmm tell me more, or okay I've done a lot of alternators, this is the approximate cost... Then they usually give the normal disclaimer that if there's anything else they discover they'll let you know. Instead, Ed went completely black and white in thinking, and that's up to him. It just doesn't work for me. Ed refused to provide a quote over the telephone, or apparently in person. He honestly and clearly stated a charge of $125 to identify the issue, and then he would provide a quote. ($125 goes toward the repair, if you don't like the quote, they keep your $125). I've have had others do that, like $65. However they also provide you a quote, at least a range of cost estimate, for the item you believe is the problem. An alternator is a no-brainer. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the rest of the car. Having NO Idea what it would cost and the fact that they would keep my $125 regardless, this was unacceptable and I thanked him. I've never done any business with ed, and I won't do business with anybody who can't provide at least some kind of estimate. If you are fine paying someone $125 to do a 5-minute test on an alternator, and tell you the alternator is bad, and then tell you WHATEVER THEY WANT as far as what it's going to cost you, more power to you. Change the item from alternator to whatever issue you want, but I don't like gambling. I believe that Ed is honest, his straightforward manner gave me that impression. It's a shame that he doesn't provide estimates. Apparently he has more than enough business.

I've been taking my car to Ed for 14+ years. He has always been very up-front, professional and honest. His service guy explains everything so even this 70 yr old female can understand it. Thanks Ed.
