My friends call this store Gross Out and I kinda feel the same way now. Went there to buy a couple of things and saw they had lavender plants outside. Got into a conversation with the "plant man" who happened to be there, and told him I'd like to buy all of it, but would only get one flat (9 plants) so others could have some. [hard to find lavender anywhere]. I put the plants in the cart and he asked if I wanted something to carry them with and handed me a plastic liner and plastic pallet he had on the ground. Now the pallet was my property belonging to me. I went into the store, got some other things and entered a checkout. The checkout staffer said, "we don't give these away," and took the pallet away. I explained that the grower had given me that and she said again, "we don't give those away." In the first place, the pallets belong to the grower, not to Gross Out. Secondly, she's basically calling me a liar and really bad manners. One of the manager's was bagging my groceries and she told the checkout clerk to just give me the pallet. They got into an argument about it. I wrote to "customer service" and explained this embarrassment. Got a response - unsigned and without apology - that told me that all the stores are owned individually and I should contact the store manager. More bad manners. There were a couple of options for handling this situation - one of them was simply to allow me to keep my property instead of trying to grab it from me. Another would have been to offer a box to carry the plants - and keep my property. I don't have much use for a pallet beyond carrying those plants. As for the rest of the store - they have interesting food, but you can't always count on anything ever being there and you can waste your time there if you are looking for something they had last week and don't have now.

Love this store! It is the main source for my groceries every week. Great variety for really reasonable prices. Great selection of organic foods and produce and affordable as well. Healthy plant selection for outside gardening most of the year. Generous wine section. Cards are always half of the normal cost....etc.We can eat in a more healthful way because of this store being in our area.I am very grateful and thankful for how the managers have chosen to present this Grocery Outlet.

Love Grocery Outlet. Great customer service and prices. My only problem is when some of the regular items I buy are not there the week I show up. Love the produce and meat departments!

What to say? Grocery outlet is a mediocre place. Sometimes the prices are good, sometimes not so much. Just know your prices and check the expiration dates. The wine selection is excellent for the price.

My first choice every grocery shopping trip! Packed full of healthy food choices, unique household items, great plants, pet needs, and much more all at unbelievable prices! Staff are hard working, knowledgeable, helpful, AND CHEERFUL! Thank you for retaining your outstanding dedication to customer care! So many businesses sadly don't begin to compare. They have much to learn from the employees at Grass Valley Grocery Outlet! And Thank You for your extra efforts during the pandemic!!!

Two stars because of the great inventory, friendly employees, booze deals, and because I'm a long time Grocery Outlet fan and supporter. This review began at negative 4 stars, because today I saw not only: 5 customers without face-masks, but at least two employees without them either (plastic face-shields only). I'm not going to bother looking up CDC guidelines about face shields at a grocery store, because common sense tells me all I need to know... They will not help like masks. I couldn't figure out which line to stand in, because mask-free mouth-breathers were...there. Breathing in each one.. I feel bad for the employees who actually care. Allowing customers and especially employees to be in the store without a face mask-at the height of the covid explosion-is completely irresponsible. I am an out-of-towner, but I was stunned to see what I saw. Why don't you review the guidelines, follow Safeway's lead, and show some decency. Even if you're way behind where you should be at this point.

They have good stuff there you just have to check the expiration dates. Because there is spoiled food in there so now I check my food before I check out my food. The parking is horrible in there so I don't shop in there all the time because it is really bad. I would have to go early in the day to go shopping and miss the mobs of people who are already there. The employees their are very nice and very friendly too. They are also very helpful too. The reason why I gave a one star rating is because of the parking and sometimes there are very very rude customers. And sometimes I will get food that is out dated or spoiled. So now I just check the dates on the foods now.

Grocery Outlet is a great store. The produce is ok, but everything else is great! I have extreme celiacs disease and gluten free food is so expensive. I'm glad I can finally afford to have convenience foods again. Life is so hard when your scratch cooking food for your whole family and toddler. It's just really nice to put a gluten free frozen dinner in the microwave when I'm tired. And it's nice to be able to eat cookies again.
