So much love to Ryan and Brad who work the drive-up-and-go department in the early morning hours that I prefer. Management -- I demand that you *immediately* give these wonderful, friendly, hard-working employees the massive raises that they deserve. Also to management -- what's with the no tipping policy? What kind of Orwellian boot-licking goons wouldn't allow such a gesture? As a paying customer I suggest you revisit and reconsider this rule, and take a good hard look into your own black-hearted souls while you're at it. This Safeway also consistently carries my favorite brand of red lentils.

I have to give huge thumbs up to Travis in the meat department. He was so helpful. It reminded me of the old time butcher counters that seem to be a thing of the past. His recommendations were spot on and will be followed closely in the future. Thanks Safeway for providing exceptional service Thur your outstanding employees ( Travis in particular)

The line for this Safeway is always so ridiculous that I leave half the time. They need to figure out how to speed up their checkout because it takes 20 minutes to buy a can of soda

So I'm in the store just after 6 am avoiding the crowds. They have pork roast for .99 cents a pound so I ask the butcher if he would cube if for me. Which they always do for free. The young man says I think it costs more to cube it (unlike ever before). So he checks and comes back and says it's an extra $6:00 a pound to cut it for me. So I get to the front and expressed my dissatisfaction with $6 a pound Quote to cube the meat. The manager Jessica checks and tells me it is because that's what the price is of cubed pork. So I come home and call the Safeway in the next town I ask him how much is it for cubbed pork he says $4.99 or 5.99 but don't buy that get the roast For .99 cents a pound and we will cube it for free. REALLY!!!!!

There is only one reason I would even remotely consider a five-star review for this store. In fact, let me be honest, I'm not giving a five-star review for the store. This store is really uncomfortable to be in. I'm giving a five-star review for one reason and one reason only. Liam at check stand 5. I was in yesterday at about 4:30pm. The whole store was a mess. It was crowded, people weren't wearing masks. Liam was kind, funny, efficient and an all around joy. Honestly, he was the only part of my experience that might convince me to ever go back.

Honestly, I love shopping here but the store manager always makes me uncomfortable. She's constantly yelling at costumers for no reason and is always rude to her employees. I honestly am sorry for all the people that have to put up with her.

Awful don't shop the drive up and go , every time they mess it up . Raleys does by far a better job Raleys goes over your order and tells you subs etc much better customer service

I absolutely love the drive up and go!!! I get to beat all the lines and I get exactly what I want every time. Kris and John are absolutely amazing and funny. I really recommend trying this Safeway out.

This Safeway like most has amazing guest service! They work extremely hard to satisfy everyone! Now Safeway before Covid 19 and now, they are even better! Yes there are longer lines and it sucks but sheesh! These people put their lives at risk every day just so we can eat Ben And Jerry's ice cream or grab a sandwich in the deli.
Unfortunately.... some of the customers are plain bat shit crazy! I've seen these BSC customers roll in with no mask and zero concern for anyone around them! They clearly can't follow instructions IE: wait until the cashier tells you to put your O Organic potatoes (from Iowa hence the E) or their Driscoll raspberries on the check stand belt. Instead, these same people troll YELP and Google and cry about someone wearing a Blue Lives Matter bracelet or face mask (not sure how that's racist) as you're supporting a career! Either way they are so triggered that their tiny minds get brutalized! Before you know it, they will try and explain how AOC is a genius! I digress...
To the 1-2 star reviewers! Get a grip and enjoy the 5th grade!

The store is very unorganized with the social distancing people are not looking down at the stickers on the ground letting you know which way to go and not go. The majority of the people are not wear face masks to protect other people from getting the Corona Virus. And they don't even mandate you to wear one. Even though there is a huge sign at both entrances saying face masks are mandated. None of the employees who work there will not kick them out of the store. This is reticules that no one will follow the CDC rules. This goes to the Safe Way on Neil Street too it is just as bad.

My checkout cashier was wearing a blue lives matter mask. Why is he allowed to openly be racist? Are all employees allowed to wear political masks? I didn't see anyone wearing black lives matter masks. Apart from being openly racist and proud (disgusting) This old man was holding up the line for so long. I was waiting in line for 30 minutes and finally got up to the front and he spent the whole transaction talking about his life and kid. Do your job and don't wear racist clothing ! 0/10

Worst grocery store in the history of crappy grocery stores!! I went on Saturday & it was all chaotic as always because they have all these rules & arrows but nobody follows them & it makes for a stressful situation with some customers getting mad at other customers. Ugh. Then I got in the LONG checkout line, waited over 20 min for the slowest cashier EVER, Gabe, I put all my stuff on the counter & he starts having issues with the machine. It won't print the last customer's receipt, so thatCustomer leaves without a receipt. Gabe rudely ignores me while he tries to fix it by pushing all the buttons at once. Ugh. I'd finally had enough and load all my groceries back into my cart and start to walk away. He said, "oh it unlocked, looks like it going to work now." I said, "Well, am I going through get a receipt, because I need one." He rolls his eyes & with a nasty attitude says, "mam, I can't predict what the machine is going to do." Wow. 25 min into the checkout process & I had to get back at the end of the line & start all over!! So I wait again, this time was faster, less people in line & the cashier was actually working hard to move the line. Then I get to my turn, unload everything again, and the cashier starts scanning & the bagger starts bagging. I'm finally about to get the heck out of this store!! Then the cashier just stops & calls a manager over. He tells her he was off at 2:30 & it's 2:33. She thought he was off at 3. So they start pulling up their scheduling app on their phones & looking at a clipboard while they debate about his schedule. Even the bagger was just freaking standing there while my groceries are partly bagged & I've been waiting over 35 minutes to checkout!!! It was ridiculous!! I finally grabbed some bags & starts packing my own damn groceries & throwing them in the cart I was so pissed. I told the cashier that he had no idea how long I'd been waiting & I had people all waiting for me to get home & I begged him just to ring up the damn groceries so I could leave already!!! But he's off so the manager takes over the transaction & begins to browse through the list of everything he rang up so far because she's confused if he'd rang up the peanut butter. **silently screams** If I ever go to prison it'll be because of the front end staff at this Safeway location.

Everytime i come to this store, its seems so disorganized. People down the isle trying to check out and social distance from other shoppers. You dont know which line is for which checkstand. Its happened not once, but every time. They have items i cant get anywhere else. So ill try to go to the neal street business. The employees at the brunswick location seem unhappy as well.

It's easy to rip on a Safeway, but honestly, they had their mojo going when we visited for a supply run before a hike during the time and restrictions of COVID-19. I would never say Safeway has been as stringent about safety as some of their grocery competitors, but this location was acting like they were. Beyond that, it was one of the cleaner and better stocked Safeway's I've ever been to. They had stickers on the floor designating where people should stand to both keep out of the aisles and a 6-foot distance while waiting to checkout. They also even had stickers on the aisles indicating the direction shoppers should go in to avoid each other, although I can't say anyone was paying particular attention to the latter. They had clean restrooms - always a plus - and basically everything we needed at Safeway Club card prices. I wouldn't say it's the best shopping option out there, but it is a great resource for those in the area looking for all their grocery needs.

Huge Rip-off! Instacart delivery will make additions and substitutions to your order. I write on my order that I do not want any replacements or substitutions. Instacart adds things to my order that I never wanted and never agreed to. I guarantee that you will be cheated by Instacart. Avoid Safeway's delivery service, Instacart. (which means avoid using Safeway). Use any other grocery store for your deliveries.
