I have used them for years & Brian has always taken care of us. We just recently changed our business over & Brittney was amazing. She fixed things AT&T couldn't figure out. When they realized we had additional issues she came right out without any problems & resolved ours. Great service on the phones & in person with all the staff. Appreciate doing business with a company that cares!

We purchased a full kit for our central vacuum for them. Prior to purchase, we brought in a picture of our power unit to ensure we got a compatible kit. Well...after several months' of use, the handle stopped working. It was replaced under warranty (but I had to pay a $10.00 service fee). A few months later and the same thing happened. This continued every several months for years. With the second problem, we asked if there could be a compatibility issue. We were assured it was not possible. The same song and dance continued 6 or more times, and they even refused to look at pictures of our unit again, saying it was impossible for there to be a comparability issue. We insisted that they check out our system at home, but there was nothing wrong with our system. At that point (more than 2 years after our problems began), we were told they would contact the manufacturer. Around this time, one employee let it slip that at least ten other customers had the same problem (after we were about to buy a whole new power unit). Several weeks later, they told us that they spoke to the manufacturer and...lo and behold...there is a compatibility issue between that kit and older units. A bulletin came out from the manufacturer TWO YEARS PRIOR about the problem, but this distributor either never read it or never bothered to pass the information along to their customers. So...we were told they would credit us the purchase price for the original kit towards a new one. I insisted they give me exact numbers because I do not like being surprised. So the rep called me back sometime later and gave me exact numbers: what they would credit us for the kit, what the excess would be that we would be responsible for, and we confirmed on the length of the hose (35 ft.). He told me that a 30 foot hose would be $40 less. Well, when my husband went to make the exchange, their story changed: they would only credit us a fraction of the purchase price because our kit was over 2 years old. Initially, he was told by the sales rep that the manufacturer would be crediting their retailers for these kits because they were sold to incompatible units. But, they were trying to charge us more than $50 than was quoted. And then their story started changing... They were losing money because they couldn't resell our unit! They quoted us for a 30 foot hose, not a 35 foot hose! They NEVER gave out exact numbers! And the list goes on... my husband was finally able to get them down close to their initial quote, but the amount of time and frustration they have caused us certainly not worth it. Hopefully we can find someone else to honor the warranty on this new kit so we never have to deal with this business again.

These folks are good people, and their eclectic home offerings is a unique addition to the area. The Green Egg Barbecue choices are truly enlightening — check it out if you like slow roasting over natural flames. I went in for a random stereo headphone cord which they had and I easily returned once realizing it wasn’t compatible with my gear. I hope to be back for a dream gift to myself as they have lots of enticing items in store.

I was interested in a whole House fan. Bryan came out and gave me an estimate. They were great about communicating the options and emailing information. Their goal seemed to be meeting my needs rather than upselling product. I was really happy with the sales component. After making my selection, Shon and Brittany came to do the installation. They proved to be a friendly, quick and skilled installation team. They cleaned up the mess and did a demo for me. They also thanked me for the work, which was really sweet (and uncommon in our area).

If you are a woman or a minority, and want to be treated fairly during your business transaction, I would not recommend using this company. Or at a minimum, do a lot of research on its employees/owner first.

BEWARE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM! They promised me a reliable burglary and fire alarm with 24/7 monitoring & dispatching services with an app that would arm & disarm my system. They charged me over $1500 total so far. It took them 4 visits to my home in Tahoe to correctly install the system. Sales told me that we could have a standard system, easy, no problem. When installer arrived he said no LTE signal (Brinks said we had one) and they would have to install via a wireless system linked to WiFi but promised it was just as reliable. After signing the contract & after they installed, our wifi went down & we had to get a new modem & router. To make a very long story short, even though Beam's monitoring service got TWO "connection failure" alerts from our panel, no one at Beam ever called to tell me there was a problem with the system. I just happened to notice something fishy few days later so I called to be on the safe side. Come to find out from Beam that even though the alarm would "sound" if someone broke in, their service was not monitoring our house & our app didn't work because WiFi was reading as down since our new modem/router. They were not planning on calling me to let me know something was wrong. Beam employees have been rude, said I am overreacting because I expected that IF MY ALARM WENT DOWN FOR ANY REASON THAT THEY WOULD CALL OR EMAIL ME and let me know (like Brinks does for our other house). No communication at all and had I not called them, I would never have known that their monitoring service had no communication with my panel & would never dispatch police or fire. But I would be paying for that service. They also never showed me how to set off a "panic alarm" from my keypad. If I hear someone downstairs and want police dispatched immediately, I am supposed to press * and # at the same time. I only learned that after the problems that I mentioned above as this is how they also test the system to make sure it's monitored (which it was not for a week). STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.... I shopped for sometime for Whole House Fans and Beam was incredible response wise and installation was clean and professional. Brian was responsive, offered great service and price. Installation was done in a few hours. I checked many places and either couldn't get a response or quote was generic and didn't want to send anyone out. Brian came out and showed us every detail of the installation and was in attic to verify they could do what they promised. I would highly recommend.

Having been with this company for 25 years I expected better service when upgrading my home security system. The technician was scheduled for the hours of 12-2PM he no showed without a courtesy call. When I called the shop and spoked with Danielle she made excuses and never relayed a message of “I’m sorry” only stated she would “talk to the the technician” my response “talk? I’d fire him” her response was to hang up on me... I will NEVER do business with group who think they are above customer service and lack the courtesy of a simple phone call. The rating of 1 was generous on my part. Please review their average rating before doing business with a second rate security provider. Better businesses respond with class not ...

So happy with our recent experience at Beam Easy Living Center. We had them install our new TV, Sonos and fix a leak in our vacuum system. Danielle was great with scheduling us for a time that worked for our schedule. Ryan, Chris and Austin showed up promptly and went right to work. They did such a wonderful job! The entire team was respectful to our home, using drop cloths and making sure to clean up debris created during their work. Very pleased and so happy we went with Beam!

I just wanted to express my appreciation to BEAM and their employee Tony. We inherited a Beam central vacuum cleaner when we bought our house and it has been relatively problem free for the past 18 years. Recently the vacuum stopped working so I took it in to a local vacuum repair shop in Folsom. The owner told me that my hose had a short in it that could not be repaired and that the upright was 18 years old and should also be replaced all for the price of $599. Since this business was not an actual Beam service center, I decided to call this Grass Valley business to get their opinion. I spoke to Tony on the phone and he explained that while it's possible I needed a new unit, it was also possible that the issue could be something repairable for a lot less money. I decided to make the 45 minute trip to Grass Valley and I'm so glad I did. Tony was able to diagnose the problem (bad circuit board) and repair my vacuum while I waited AND it only cost me $35!! I appreciate the honesty and integrity of this business and especially their employee Tony. You can bet if I ever need future vacuum cleaner repairs I will be taking it here!

Dishonest. Bad alarm system. Management very very dishonest. Brian O'Brian, and the rest never return a phone call. Terrible customer service. My system still isn't working. They tried to overcharge when the system was not working.

This company could not find the record of my vaccum brush purchase about a year ago. Granted, it was only about $20, but it broke! They would not replace the brush or offer me any solution, other than buy another one. Why would I do that, if I cannot trust the product or the company?

We went in to Beam to buy a replacement head for our Beam vacuum system. They were not pleasant or helpful at all & it was obvious we were "a bother". Will not go back to them again.
