The cashier, he is probably the owner. He was very rude and angry. Not sure if was he always like that. If you do not want an unpleasant experience, avoid this place at all cost.

Located in the middle of a strip mall on busy Brookhurst, between Trask and GGBD is this little, albeit, densely packed, convenience 'party' store. It's clean and as full as it is, is organized. Walking from home to the Hyundai dealership, I skipped breakfast, so I could treat myself with a meal out once I had a vehicle again. My body wasn't as forward thinking as my brain, however, and I realized I had to eat immediately. So, it's close to 7am and I decided to go to the first open business for a coffee and a small bite. I pass many restaurants still closed. But Hero's is open. The place is very well stocked with lots of pretty, prepackaged snacks, sweets, booze and beverages. The water selection has variety which is a pleasure. The least processed foods I found were nuts. I purchased the planters salted peanuts (2 for $1.09) and a small Fiji water. Cost just under $4. The gentleman was young and polite. I asked about the cost of Dunhills as I hear smokes are getting expensive. He says they are $15 a pack now. Wow. I remember buying a case of Kent's for mom when I was a youngster and it was under $10. This little store was there when I needed it, which I take seriously when rating. The bulk of options, highly processed foods, is a reflection on our society, but I'm still a part of this culture and want locally sourced, tasty treats. For that I delete a star.

1:40am, leaving work tired. Went and bought an energy drink. Left and forgot I had to buy cigarettes. The man started yelling at me, mad, saying “we’re closed now, CLOSED”. Told me to leave. Another guy shows up, he opens for him. Just wondering what set him off like that.

Dude is a complete scum bag, j*** & seems miserable. The other reviews must be his accounts. Avoid if possible the gas station across the street has what u need. You better know exactly what u want because if I ask any questions you're getting yelled at. Heroes my a** this guy needs a hero to save him.
